Portal: Just not for me

I was very excited about this game, so many amazing reviews, game of the year, amazing customer reviews. Gotta say, after 10 minutes I dont like Portal, its just not for me. Moving around trying to figure out the little tests and spacial dimensions ugh. I wonder if this is the end of my love of gaming, Peggle, Rockband, and Call of Duty 4, Peggle, all great games this year, but I just cant get into Portal.

PC vs. Xbox Platform

bought this platform because my Xbox 360 is out for "red ring" repair. Good deal - HL played well with other Windows apps, not too resource-intensive and loads/quits fairly quickly. Played fine on my lower-end laptop. And I can watch TV and play HL2 simultaneously! haha

PS Xbox repair has taken forever. Xbox customer service gets one star. Should I avoid purchasing 360 games, from now on?

Orange Box - nice collection of games

I'll review Portal since that's the game I played most. It starts out as a very fun puzzle-oriented game but unfortunately at the end the puzzles become less dependent on thinking and more on your keryboard/mouse-clicking skills. You'll get motion sick trying to hit particular shelves while flying through the air. The story and humor, however, remain constant throughout the game so it's definitely worth playing.

We are getting spoiled. This is a great collection but...
it is more of the same old same old.
At least it dosn't require vista.

The game half life 2 is good, since I never played it. the bad part is half life 2 part 2 requires direct x 8 or better. I am using a T-40 laptop, and it does not support direct x 8. thus, I can't play the new game. Buyer beware. The how much fun this game rating is for half life 2 only.

The Orange Box is hands-down the best value you'll ever find in a game. This is a must-have for serious gamers and new gamers alike. The only downside is that some of the games are a bit short, but with 5 total games, and some features that make them worth replaying (achievements and challenge maps), you won't be disappointed with the amount of play time it offers. If I could only ever own one game, it would probably be The Orange Box.

Great gameplay and enjoyable

I've been a gamer on the Half-life platform since it's release many years ago. I have been held victim since the release of Steam and being a developer for many steam-based games, I have learned to tolerate it and the non-sense it requires. So the platform (Steam) aside, the games offered are quite fun; Portal with it's witty remarks, humor and excellent physics and overall strong gameplay with many twists and turns to set a mind spinning. Team Fortress 2 is a cartoony Team Fortress Classic killing fest which is fun as long as one enjoys a less serious game with very little realism. Half-life 2 is self-explanatory in enjoyment as are the other games. I got this game set for thirty dollars so no reason for me to complain thanks to Amazon's good deal.

Amazing Games for an amazing price.

Portal: Quite possibly one of the best games of the decade! Very interesting game idea and very fun! I only wish it were longer.

Half-life 2 (and Episode One and Episode Two): A fantastic game worth the price of the package along. VERY long game with a good balance of fighting, puzzle solving, and driving... all with guns :-D!

Team Fortress 2: Finally a multiplayer game that actually causes you to plan rather than just shoot. Pick from 9 classes, work together, and win. Very fun game.

What can I say? Five amazing games for $50 - it doesn't get any better!
