The Orange Box is hands-down the best value you'll ever find in a game. This is a must-have for serious gamers and new gamers alike. The only downside is that some of the games are a bit short, but with 5 total games, and some features that make them worth replaying (achievements and challenge maps), you won't be disappointed with the amount of play time it offers. If I could only ever own one game, it would probably be The Orange Box.

Great gameplay and enjoyable

I've been a gamer on the Half-life platform since it's release many years ago. I have been held victim since the release of Steam and being a developer for many steam-based games, I have learned to tolerate it and the non-sense it requires. So the platform (Steam) aside, the games offered are quite fun; Portal with it's witty remarks, humor and excellent physics and overall strong gameplay with many twists and turns to set a mind spinning. Team Fortress 2 is a cartoony Team Fortress Classic killing fest which is fun as long as one enjoys a less serious game with very little realism. Half-life 2 is self-explanatory in enjoyment as are the other games. I got this game set for thirty dollars so no reason for me to complain thanks to Amazon's good deal.

Amazing Games for an amazing price.

Portal: Quite possibly one of the best games of the decade! Very interesting game idea and very fun! I only wish it were longer.

Half-life 2 (and Episode One and Episode Two): A fantastic game worth the price of the package along. VERY long game with a good balance of fighting, puzzle solving, and driving... all with guns :-D!

Team Fortress 2: Finally a multiplayer game that actually causes you to plan rather than just shoot. Pick from 9 classes, work together, and win. Very fun game.

I mainly bought this for Team Fortress 2 and Portal. Both those games a lot of fun. Portal is really short, but the puzzles and humor are great. TF2 has some good gameplay, with some well rounded classes. Those new to the game, may find it a little difficult at first, at least I thought it was hard. I died a lot. But after playing a bunch, I got better and more used to the play style. As of now, I'm mainly playing as Scout, Soldier, and a little bit of the Engineer.
Half-Life 2 is also a lot of fun, although I haven't played the whole campaign, yet. Online Half-life 2 Deathmatch is really fun though.

As always, the half life franchise is great, but I have had a lot of trouble running HL 2 episode one and two. The games have caused inumerable crashes and hang ups during gameplay. I had to shut down every program on my computer in order to run. Never had this problem with Half Life until "Steam" became involved. Portal ran fine.

QUITE THE COMBO!!

This is an incredible package. This includes five games for the price of one, basically.

-Half-Life 2
-Half-Life 2: Episode One
-Half-Life 2: Episode Two
-Portal
-Team Fortress 2

Each and every game included in here is amazing. Personally, I will not let any friends play HL2 until they have beaten the original game, which is the one bad thing about this box - original Half-Life is not included.

Nonetheless, Half-Life 2 is probably one of (if not THE) best sequels to a game ever - not to mention, the original still scores a 98/100 by Metascore.

Episode 1 is an excellent extension to the plot, though it is slightly short, but nothing unimpressive.

Episode 2, however, I felt was INCREDIBLE. The game, which also features many new features (such as the new particle engine), has such a deep and unfolding story line, with a stunning ending that will make it very hard to wait for Episode 3.

Portal, is also an amazing game. The challenges get harder and harder, but not too hard. I'm not going to reveal anything - but believe me, once you finish the "final" test, you're far from over.

Team Fortress 2 is a very, very well done multiplayer game - a great remake of the original Team Fortress Classic. The "cartoony" graphics are suprisingly very well done, and mixed well with the source-engine atmosphere. It really is very original.

So, I hope you take this VERY brief review into consideration, and purchase the Orange Box (if you haven't played original Half-Life, you must, to get the full story). Have fun!

Wow... Portal is a great game in it's own right although a little short, the other two games were good as well but I still have not had time to get to them all. TF2 is gust a great shooter...
