Great game that carries on the tradition of the other Ratchet and Clank options that in our view (mine and my sons) has the best weapon choices and best locations of the PS2 series. The storyline is still adequate.

We have only done a few levels soo far, but have had a total blast with this game. As with other R&C games its just fun. My 6 yr old loves them all as well (mostly runs around killing a bit and runs to me for the bigger kills or difficult things).
Great!

This is a very awesome game! A must have for fans of shooters and platformers. The game is complete with upgradeable weapons, armor, epic battles, and a comedic and intriguing story line. One of the most well liked features of this series is the light-hearted feel to it. Even when the mad scientist is about to destroy your home, you can still get a laugh or two! Fans of weapon play will love the broad weapons range of Up Your Arsenal. There are well over 20 weapons that you can level up 8 times, to get the extremely powerful omega version.
And I've yet to mention the best new addition to the series! ONLINE PLAY! Now you, or you and a friend, can play online in an 8 player match of guns and vehicles. There are three fun-filled modes and 2 cool vehicles-the turboslider and a hovership for bombing from above! The USB keyboard and headset are combatable with this game. Yuo can also form clans and then keep track of them online at the website- RCArsenal.com it has a friendly group of people there you can chat about the game with. If you need some more convincing about the game just head there and let them do the convincing. If you do go there I would be glad to help you decide.

R&C: Up Your Arsenal is one of my favorite PS2 games. I own 30+ PS2 games, so that's saying something! It's easy to recommend Up Your Arsenal to R&C fans; everything about this game is better. Insomniac improved the graphics, weapons, cutscenes, level design. Everything is better this time around. If you've never played a R&C game, now is a fine time to start.
Throughout the game, Ratchet gains experience, which accumulates until his health increases. He starts with four health and can get to 100 the first time through the game. In challenge mode, the health limit is increased to 200. Ratchet's weapons accumulate experience independently. Each weapon upgrades four times. Upgrades increase things like power, ammo, range, and change the weapon's appearance. The fourth upgrade changes the name of the weapon. For example, the shock blaster becomes the shock cannon, which can be charged up to release a powerful blast capable of wiping out a screen full of enemies. In challenge mode, you can buy mega versions of most weapons and upgrade those twice, increasing their power even more.
There are three main controls options in UYA: the traditional third-person camera, a first-person camera, and lock-strafe mode. I use lock-strafe mode, which is basically a third-person camera with first-person shooter controls. There are options for inverting movement on the X/Y axis, changing camera movement speed, 16:9 widescreen formatting, 480p output, and so on.
There are a couple bonuses for owners of R&C (the first game) and Going Commando (the second game). If you have a save from the original Ratchet & Clank on your memory card, you get a one-time discount of 10% at the Gadgetron weapons vendor. If you have a Going Commando save on your memory card, you get some weapons from that game for free. Insomniac even improved the returning weapons. For example, the lava gun had a disappointing final upgrade in Going Commando, which completely changed how it fired; in Up Your Arsenal, the final upgrade is more appropriate and much cooler (literally!).
Up Your Arsenal is so large it's hard to mention everything. I haven't talked about the minigames, spherical worlds, online and offline multiplayer, titanium bolts, trophies, skill points, 2D vid-comic levels, high replay value, or the robotic pop star Courtney Gears (whose name should sound familiar). The story mode will take about ten hours to beat. Challenge mode should take another 10-15 hours. Why haven't you bought this game yet?
