Ok first of all, megaman is the best. I've been playing video games since I was like 5 years old and the first one I ever played was megaman 4, which is included in this collection. As time went on, more systems came out and the old megaman was pretty much just a page in nintendo history. Finding a regular nintendo, much less and old megaman game was harder to do than lick your elbow. now the world has been saved and not one but 10 megaman games are now available again. Megaman is an awesome side scroller where you are megaman, a little blue dude with a plasma cannon attached to his arm. Each game has eight bosses to choose from in the main screen, which can be beaten in any order. beating a boss grants you the ability to use the weapon of that boss against other bosses or the little peon robots the fill the levels. each boss has one weakness, which will be in the form of another boss' weapon. after all bosses have been beaten, you go into the Dr. Wily, their creator, stage. you beat that and fight him and the game is over. The formula each game is built on is the same, but there are different bosses and levels in each game and the music is so catchy it will be playing in your head for weeks. The games arent easy particularly, but they are worthwhile. Megaman is the best game that was ever made, so PLAY IT!

mega man has had a long history and has foiled different super villians. Whether it be the original Dr. Wily, or the new sigma of the X series, megaman does it in style. This game is the perfect collectors item for die hard fans of the blue bomber such as myself. this game features all 8 original mega man games, ranging from the regular nintendo, the super nintendo, and the PS1.

There are two things in this disc that will make die hard fans jump for joy. first there are two games that were never realeased state side, which are basically boss rush modes. Second there are tons and tons of sketches, behind the scenes movies, and even the original TV trailers for each respective game.

The only small down side to this game, which is really nothing to grope about, is that you do not immeadiatly have access to all of the games. At first only the first two megaman games are available to play, and you must complete them before the others open. This is not such a problem for veterans of the megaman series, since they know all the ins and otus of megaman, but for some looking for an immeadiate fix, this may pose a problem.

Mega man has always been about adrenaline filling blasting and super powerups, and this game volumizes the original collection in great respect to that. Another fact gamers may want to know is that this is the original megaman, unfortuneately you will not find any of the X series games here, maybe a good idea for the next megaman compelation disc?

The most mind boggling thing of the game is its insane value. After doing some research i have found that it would cost over 400 dollars to buy all of these games seperate! Getting all of this for the bargain price of 30 dollars?! you would have to be a fool not to pick this up!

Retro Gaming at its best!

This is pure entertainment. Something about this nostalgia is incredible! Mega Man has never had any better adventures than in his 2-D sidescrolling world. This Megaman Anniversary collection depicts his first 8 adventures. The port is a re-release. Unchanged and untarnished.
The game centers on Megaman who is running around saving the world from the likes of Dr. Wiley. This is the foundation that Megaman was built off of. When your adventure begins you select one of many bosses to go and battle. Each time you battle a boss you get a special weapon for Megaman that allows him to use his techniques. Each boss has their own weakness and part of the strategy of beating Megaman is figuring out which boss is weak to what weapon as well as the order to find them in.

The graphics are the exact same as they were before. Even the weird glitches and such from the NES version are here. So it's all the same. If this bothers you then you may or may not enjoy Megaman Anniversary Edition.

There are a few changes though. Controls are now easier. There is a now a short cut in accessing Megamans arsenal so that you don't have to open the menu each time. The game also has an "auto-save" feature so that you don't have to wrtie down all the passwords and such.

This new version also includes bonuses. On the PS2 version you get an episode of the anime. Kind of nice but if you didn't like it it isn't much.

Pretty much a retro game. If you don't like retrogaming or 2D graphics then this collection isn't for you.

When I first heard about a game coming out that was going to include all the old mega man games, I cried. Yes, I'll admit it. Tears of sweet, sweet joy. I couldn't believe it, my favorite gaming series from childhood was returning. I couldn't wait to challenge my favorite enemies over again, like that guy who looked like a train(aptly named Train Man) and that dude with scissors on his head. The games are exactly as i remember them cept the music was remixed. I remember when I first played Mega Man 4( for the second time) It was a beautiful moment, me embracing the television- and weeping. Some people may call me a pansy or loser or obsessed, but i loves my mega man. Buy this game now.

As an avid fan of all things MegaMan (except the Battle Network series and the old cartoon series, but those are different reviews), I'd been waiting in anticipation for my copy of the MegaMan Anniversary Collection to arrive since before I'd even ordered it. I must say the game(s) did impress me, though there are a few things I've found fault with. Here's a general rundown of how the game works:

At the title screen, you take MegaMan through one of three doors. The right door--the one you'll probably be aching to enter first--leads to the Secrets room. This door, however, is locked when you first begin; you have to unlock the special features inside by--you guessed it--playing through the various games. The only real downer here is that the game doesn't actually tell you when you've unlocked something (I took a break from gameplay once and found that I'd unlocked the production credits somewhere along the line), so be sure to check in often; you never know when the tiniest achievement will unlock that one special feature you've been dying to see.

The middle door takes you to the Options menu, where you can (by entering another series of doors) customize your gaming experience. Here you get the usual options of setting your screen position and adjusting the volume of music and sound effects. You can also give yourself an "EX Tank" boost (a staple of the later X-series games) by starting yourself off with five lives instead of the usual three. For MM1-7, you can also select to play the standard version of the game or a slightly easier variation.

Also available as an option for MM1-7 is the much-hailed Navi Mode. By activating this, you make three changes to the game. First, your support characters will appear (often before they've actually been built) to point you in the right direction should it appear that more than one route is available (that is, if the level's design makes it appear that you can travel either vertically or horizontally but you can really only go one way, Beat or Eddie or whoever will show up at the end of an arrow to show you which way is the real path you wanna take). Second, you can get optional hints at various points in the levels from a "Navigator" in the form of a secondary character, like Dr. Light and ProtoMan (your "Net Op" in MM3, ironically enough; anyone who knows anything about that game will know why I find this odd); these Alia-style hints range from the basic stuff any MM veteran knows ("Spikes and pits are bad!" or "There's a boss behind the big gray door!" type hints) to things so vague it might actually take you a bit to get the reference. Also, these hints sometimes come at inopportune moments, like when you're on a ladder; if you read the hints given at those points, you'll briefly revert to your teleporting form and release the ladder when you re-enter the game, so be careful.

Lastly, and redeemingly, Navi Mode activates the remixed music feature. Before you start jumping up and down, bear in mind that this doesn't apply to EVERY piece of music in the game; only three of the initial six stages of MM1 have remixed music, for example; for the rest, you're stuck with the same 8-bit stuff from the original (or 16-bit, in MM7's case). Others, like MagnetMan's theme in MM3, are "remixed" to the point of being completely unrecognizeable (either that or they just threw something completely different into those stages for some reason).

Finally, the left-hand door takes you to your "loading bay," so to speak. Here you get three more doors: Back, New Game, and Load Game, in order from left to right. Either game door you take will drop you in the actual Game Selection room, with a door leading to each of the eight Classic series games. There are also two more doors (initially locked) with question marks for markers; these will take you to the two "never before released in the U.S." fighting games (one of which I played six years ago at Mackinac Island, Michigan...).

For those of you who plan to take your time and switch between the various games at your leisure, be warned: as you play through a game, your progress will be auto-saved to your memory card. When that happens, you will be LOCKED INTO that game and OUT OF the other seven (or nine, depending on how far you've gone) until you either beat that game or begin a new gameplay round. And if you start a new game, its save progress will overwrite anything you did on your previous round. And with all this in place they STILL make you use the password system on MM2-7...

Now before you all go thinking that I hate the game, I must clarify that these are simply minor flaws to the disc's design, in my opinion. The games themselves are still as fun and challenging as they were in their original forms. For the actual gameplay, you'll control MegaMan exactly as you did in the separate installments (though you can't use the "high jump" trick with the up button on controller 2 in MM3 like in the original)--with a few bonuses thrown in. In MM1-6, by holding in the triangle button, your weapon will enter a rapid-fire mode, allwoing you to fire quickly and continuously while focusing your attention elsewhere. In MM3-6, the slide technique can also be performed with the circle button, forgoing the need to hold down and the jump button. Lastly, you can cycle through your special weapons with the L1 and R1 buttons, and your Rush abilities with L2 and R2--and in Navi Mode, you not only get the traditional energy gauge for special weapons, you also get a shot counter that tells you exactly how many shots you have left with that weapon (so you don't have to guess); however, MM1's Magnet Beam (and presumably MM2's three transport vehicles--I haven't gotten there yet) are left out of this system.

All in all, MMAC is a satisfying collection for any fan of the Classic series who doesn't want to buy three separate systems and scour used game stores galore to own the entire series (with the exception of the five Game Boy games; that honor is reserved for the upcoming Mega Man Mania for the GBA, due in November). Now if they'd just release something similar for the X and Zero series, I'd be all set--of course, since those two series haven't been officially finished yet, I guess I've got a bit of a wait...

Finally! Back to Old School Gaming!

With all the 3 dimensional games put out these days, sometime it's nice to go back to the way gaming used to be. Unfortunatly for most people this meant digging out you Nintendo and fighting the infuriating battle of trying to make it work. This game wonderully solves a lot of these problems by re-creating the classic MegaMan games perfectly. The music, the graphics, the uncontrolable anger only a MegaMan game can put you in. It's all in this game. It's wondeful to play a simpler game from a simpler time when you didn't have to find keys and codes, just shoot the hell out of robots. A must have for gamers who miss the old days.

All games are great, but they are extremely hard

Each game is very well done but, the stages are near to immpossible if you have the same mega man skill as I do. Like Bombman's stage you feel like your're in WW1 during the trenches, everything is shooting at you. Or in Mega Man 7, Cloudman's stage you are not sure if your going to make it to the next platform because the slide control instead of using the circle button, you use down x, so you can't slide before jumps to make them further like in Mega Man X4. The graphics vary from game to game, in Mega Man there are the signature 1980s graphics, unlike Mega Man 8 with it's extremely colorful annoying graphics and Mega Man sounds like a school girl. The weapons in each game are great though, like hard knuckle, gemini laser, search snake, etc. One ability which you don't have in the X series is Rush- your robotic dog that you can call to help you get higher ledges etc. The battles I hate the most are with Protoman- he constantly jumps and shoots in a quick pattern and you only damage him if you hit his back. This game you should buy, but be warned- you won't beat any robot masters anytime soon- this game takes skill.

One of the greatest video game series ever has come home all on one disc. The Mega Man Anniversary Collection is nothing short of amazing, consisting of all of your Mega Man favorites from the past, right up to the most recent installments of the series. For anyone who doesn't still have their Nintendo NES around, this is a new way to play those old favorites.

One of the most notable feats achieved by Capcom is how well the games play on PS2 as compared to NES. Other collections (most noticeably those for Atari VCS) tend to have slow reactions or somewhat altered graphics. The MMAC is spot-on to the original games in everything from controls and graphics to sound and gameplay.

For new users or old ones who haven't discovered all the secrets, there's a mode called "Navi Mode" which gives hints and tricks to get around stage sections or point you in the direction of some secrets. In this mode a lot of the stage music has been remade and remixed; some is directly from the arcade games.

There are unlockable features as well, including original concept art for Mega Man and the robot masters, the two Mega Man arcade games, music and even the first episode of the Mega Man TV show (though it is far off the storyline of the games!!!) Overall, I loved the MMAC, and for any Mega Man fan, this is a must-have!

This is going to be the greatest vidoe game ever made!!!!!!!

First, I just want to say that I'm a big Mega Man fan, and I was thinking that something like this was never going to happen, but guess what? It finally is!! This game is going to be SO FREAKIN'
AWESOME, that it's going to blow all other video games out of the water!!!!!! Anyway, this game is going to contain Mega Man 1-8, and the two arcade games, Mega Man: The Power Battle and Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters, making that a total of 10 games in one disc!!!!! They're will be other features in this game as well, like episodes from the Mega Man cartoon series, artwork, and more. If you're a big Mega Man fan (like me), you should DEFINITELY buy this game!!!!!!!!!!! Peace out, dawgs!!!!!!!

Ok this is what a true gamer waits for all of his life. Games that he played as a child coming back. I am old enough to remember the release of the MegaMan series all the way back to the second one. This is something that if you played the old ones you will get this, cause its great. All of you who have never played these I challenge you to try them. Games back then were harder than some of the newer spiffier graphic ones. And thats what its about, not graphics but the gameplay that brings us back to a game to play it over and over. Some of the extra features are amazing and you should check it out!
