3D shooting with a story. That's good. Though Counter-strike is also good even without a story.
Good graphics, realistic effects, physical attributes that make it more realistic. Kick dustbin! It can worth purchasing if you do not expect a miracle.
I finished it in PC version. You may not finish it by killing everyone around. You may need to think about what to do. That's also good! I recommend it.
This is not a teenager game. You can kill even your friends. Teenagers should not comment on this game as it is not suitable for them.

Owww! My head hurts from all the flaws in this tragic sequel of a classic original. Poor camera! It can't turn left or right at the speed in which I need it to. Catch up already, why don't you? Poor Max! He must weigh 400 pounds, because he moves like he's bloated. Ex Lax anyone? My bad, it isn't Max at all, because he doesn't look anything like he did in the original. And don't even try to say it's because he's aged. Owww!!! I have recurring flashbacks of when the game needed to load. Anyone have a Snickers bar 'cause it's gonna be awhile? I would write more on this subpar attempt of a sequel, but I have to go to my therapy session. It starts out with me saying, "Hi, my name is Stew, Stew-Pid, and I am idiot for buying this piece of junk." It barely made three stars.
I'm still suffering from buying "No One Lives Forever" over a year ago. All stores should be banned from selling that garbage.
Cut-Scenes and Blocky Graphics

If you want to sit through 1000 horrible cliche' cut-scenes then this game is for you. Every ten seconds the game becomes a pointless movie and you are either stuck watching or forced to skip thru which thank god is an option. Either way the momentum of play has been shattered, and your x button is worn out. What's worse is that none of the scenes contain critical info, they are just there for the "art" of it.. The save points? forget it, you better not die or youre all the way back to the prologue, A collosal waste of time.
The graphics are blocky and colorless except for bleak bleak bleak brown and gray. Max is a really Unlikable character. He's boring and lame. Bullet time is good, but combined with the auto aim, it makes the game to easy. Killing becomes over simplified. Except for a few dynamic points for gun play, and an engine that allows you to kick a cardboard box or garbage can and slide them across a room nothing else really gets my attention.
Dont waste your time

This game is dissapointing at best.
Graphics, as opposed to what many have written, are reminiscent of Driver 2 for the orifinal Paystation console.
Max's outfit is grainy, and the frame rate lags with every move.
Character motion is primitive, sound bytes are recycled endlessly ( every time a bad guy dies there is the same obnoxious grunt from each one).
There is another load screen about every ten seconds, story line is nonexistant.
And it is clearly obvious that the team making the levels never met with the team who created the characters because Max, along with the rest of the characters, are probably onl a stout three feet tall in reference to their surroundings (pay attention to the fact that he has a good five feet to the top of door frames, or that he is a foot shorter than a mop leaning in the corner)
All in all, the only fun is the slow mo. or diving bullet action, but that only pleases for a few moments, as you start to realize that you get shot just as many times in slow motion as you do in regular action.
The original was good, this is just a company rushing a game thats still in the works, trying to beat the holiday shopping spree.
It wasn't what I expected, but it delivered....mostly

Alright, the gameplay was pretty good. I did have some issues with the camera angles, and in some areas it was a tad raunchy, but this is a Rockstar game. If you're somebody who is easily offended by sexual content, then this game is not for you. It is very mild in its existance and if you manipulate the facts enough, it in some ways ties into the storyline.
This game isn't as repetative as the first Max Payne, however. There is 1 sniper mission. Also, I liked how you are not Max Payne (the dude) the whole time. In some places you switch to Mona Sax, Max's assistant and "confidante". Also, you do have some escort missions in which you have to protect someone, including Vinnie Gognitti (yeah i thought he was dead too).
In total, I didn't like this game as much as the first one. The camera angels had a lot of flaws, and the control setup is horrible. It's a good rental game, as it can be beaten in about 5 hours, though if you purchase this game and are a die-hard Max Payne fan, you won't be left hanging.
A Few Problems, But Still Very Fun Sequel to a Great Game.

If you're a hardcore action fan like me, chances are you've probably heard of Max Payne. It combines elements of John Woo films and film noir graphic novels. Some people may not like the film noir style or graphic novel look, but I think it's very unique and stylish. Now the sequel, Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne, improves on it in every aspect. I understand that of course the game is going to run and look better on Xbox and PC. It probably does, but that didn't stop me from buying it for PS2. The graphics are both good and bad. The environments are decent and the character models could be better save for Max Payne, Mona Sax, and Vladimir. Max no longer has that stupid sneer on his face. Voice acting is pretty good, but it tends to skip every now and then. Controls are pretty much the same as the first, except now you can pistolwhip or throw grenades with a weapon equppied. The Bullet-Time feature has been improved and the sequences when reloading in Bullet-Time are awesome, looking just like a top-notch action movie. Don't let the love story theme stop you from purchasing this. It's a very good story and some levels let play as not only Max Payne, but Mona Sax, but she basically plays the same as Max, which is or isn't a bad thing necessarily. Also, the dreaded nightmare sequences are on here, but they're not as hair-pulling as they were on the first. These are short and playable. My only complaints and why Max Payne 2 didn't score higher with me is that unfortunately, the Xbox and PC version are both graphically and technologically superior to the PS2 version. Also, it's a bit too short. But these problems don't hurt the game that terribly much as it's still very fun and just as good as the first if not better. I give a 4 out of 5. Semper Fi, Carry On.
What a terrible dissapointment...

So, if you've played the original MP you know how extrordinarily beautiful and dark and twisted it was. So, as usual you anticipate the follow up. This installment, is a shoddy, trashy version. The graphics look like a PS1 title, the story is boring. The deep save screens are terrible. Also, since you spend more time watching and hearing the graphic novel than playing the game it gets frustrating. If you don't save every two seconds and you die, you have to watch all the cutscened (boring as they are) all over again. You can skip them, but the time it takes to load the game after you skip them is just as long as watching them. There is no violence in this game.. The A.I. is terrible. The bullet time and dodging is okay, but not as stellar as the first. I'd skip this one, it's not worth it. There are rumors of a Max Payne 3 that are promising to deliver because even the company said they were dissapointed in how this game turned out. SO maybe we'll have that to look forward to.
IF YOU LIKED THE 1st MAX PAYNE GAME YOU'LL LIKE THIS.

I played the first MAX PAYNE game and I loved it. The combination of action and slow-motion is perfect. The graphics are also really good. If you ever played the first game and liked it, you will love MAX PAYNE 2. The game itself is not huge if you are a MAX PAYNE fan. I beat it in about 5 days. But that doesn't mean this is a bad game at all, it just means that you can't let go of it until you finally beat it. I highly reccomend you getting this game, but I would suggest you to rent it first because you might beat it fast. If you don't beat the game as a rental then go ahead and buy it.
If you enjoyed the first this one will not disappoint

First off it is more like 3.75 stars, but as my title reads this game will probably satisfy most of the original fans. I played the first game and enjoyed it, and I played this one and enjoyed it, but like so many sequels it pales because the concept is not longer original. When you buy this game you are getting a true sequel, just a continuation of the story with very little if any improvements to game play or intangibles.
There are few truly original things about this game, but that being said it retains most of the good points of the first episode. Some of the other reviews mentioned that it is short, and it is, so just keep that in mind, but do not let it stop you from buying the game because it is not much shorter than many other similar games on the market.
GOOD POINTS:
Still the best, most controllable slow motion in video games
A continuation of a good, if a bit clunky story line
BAD POINTS:
Not the longest game in history, and just a little shorter than you want it to be
No real improvements or evolution from the first episode
