THE MARVEL GODS HAVE SHONE DOWN ON US.....

The last few weeks have been golden for Marvel fans in the video game realm.

Not that we haven't had any nuggets of brilliance before. Maximum Carnage gave us comic book thrills with so/so graphics. Separation Anxiety continued the tradition.

Then along came PS2 and Spider Man 1 and 2. Great gameplay, great concepts. But something was missing.

Then came the TRILOGY of great games in just a few short days. Marvel Nemesis, X-Men 2 ROA, and Ultimate Spider Man. It's heaven no matter what genre of game you play; from fighting to RPG to arcade style action with INCREDIBLE graphics.

Marvel Nemesis is brilliantly executed; and makes for great gameplay whether you play 2 player, online, or story mode. Lots of fantastic characters to pick from. I've played as Spidey and Venom. The backgrounds are incredibly rich and well detailed. It does take some time to pick up the moves- I've heard some people ripping it for that. But learning them is half the fun of the game. It reminds me of playing MK 2 with my buds and having to learn the combo of buttons to do a Fatality move. If it was really easy to do the moves, the game would have no replay value.

I've also heard people rip on the darkness to the game, that some of the characters look murky or are in shadow. Well...when you fight at night, even the wildest of costumes are going to be muted a bit. This is Marvel Fight Club, slugging it out on a street or on the roof of the Daily Bugle. This ain't your daddy's fifteen cent comic books, this is down and dirty gritty life and death action.

I've heard people rip on the new characters, then rip on how they're using the same old recycled characters in another game. I wish people could make up their minds. This is one of the most original concepts I've seen in a long time for a fighting game. I think it's awesome that they've INVENTED new characters, tied them into a comic book, and introduced them in a new game.

Let me put it this way. I don't just throw fifty bucks around if I haven't researched it. I've played demos of this game. It's worth the money.

Yes this game is an easier fighting game, but that's why I like it personally. In most Marvel fighting games, there are so many controls to remember for activating many different types of superpowers that it got hard to keep em straight. With this game having only 2 basic fight options for all characters it is much easier to figure out what you are doing. Of course, each character has it's little extras such as flight for Storm and wall climbing for Spidey, so each character remains unique. But you don't have to memorize 10 different actions for Wolverine and then memorize 10 different controls for Venom. I like this game a lot and I really love that they have made the fighting controls easier.

It is absolutley nuts for anyone to think this game stinks.The graphics are great the combot is awsome and the sound is good. Maybe if you dont like it, it may just be to difficult for you. Its a great game. buy it and you will like it.

One of my best friends were telling me about how the early reviews for this game were hitting the toilet, so I thought I'd just start an account to put my two cents in.

This game is AWESOME. If you're whining because you can't play as certain characters, just go into story mode and unlock them like I did. If your game won't save it, you either have a defective memory card or a bad copy of the game, because mine works fine. If that doesn't work for you, just wait a few weeks and somebody will post a cheat. Personally, I like it because it's not easy to win. This has been one of the first games in a long time that has compelled me to take it online. I don't know about these new characters, but I know the old ones, and it's kind of cool to pick fights with guys that have unknown skills and powers; it kind of adds a new sense of realism to the game. I've been on this game for a few days now and I haven't even opened Ultimate Spider-Man yet.
I haven't had this much fun with a game since Mortal Kombat and the Capcom fighters. This has been my second favorite game this year since Revenge of the Sith came out.

My guess is that reviews are going to be very divided between Marvel fans and the opinions of the "Experts". Me being a Marvel fan believe this is an awesome game with really exciting moves and top notch graphics. Wolverine moves like he really is, a living killing machine and Spiderman's acrobatics are mind bending. If I had one complain is that I believe that there could be more space for other Marvel Characters such as Thor or The Incredible Hulk.

Everyone to write a review so far says there are only two buttons
to use. Thats not true there is x button for jumping, circle button for grabbing, square for punching, and triangle for blocking. You can also press R1 for special moves that take up rage and L1 for running across walls or just running and flying.
The people that said there are only two main buttons must have never experimented with other buttons and combinations. I am a big fan of Xmen and SpiderMan and I am not dissapionted with this game it's well worth 20 bucks. I have every single SpiderMan game there is and lots of Xmen games like Xmen Legends one and two for instance. This game ranks up with any other Marvel and
EA game to me. Its not an easy game either, its actually pretty
tough.

OVERALL:

If you like fully destructible envirments and love two beat up on baddies with Wolverine and SpiderMan in other games then you will
love this game!

SPIDERMAN ROCKS!!! and im 13 so im not a little kid saying 24
year olds are dont know what they are talking about.

This is the best game on the planet! you can play as Wolverine,Iron Man, Human Torch,Spider Man, and more including a new team called the Imperfects! heres a tip: play versus,play 2 player lives match, play as any charactar, give them both 1 live, choose the bridge and play on it 10 times. Every 10 times you get a new character or venue. It is awesome with the levels which doesn't have good cheat codes so for once their is a hard game,(but maybe it is not that hard to some people) and you get to try out new charactars. Try to unlock Niles Van Rokel. He is the best charactar. (but my lucky charactar is Wolverine) If anybody says this is a bad game they are full of crud! This is the best game ever! Buy it now or it will run out of stock because it is so good! This game is the best! Most of the other games are crud! This is great, cool, and awesome!

If you are into Fighting games then this is the game for you,I heard about this game and I thought it was to good to be true. I was surfing the web and thought i would go to [...] and then I saw this game this has a good Plot and nice moves but not so many charecters I was waiting for this game to have like all of the fantastic four and all the X-men and the Hulk and Captin America. But they made the Imperfects which is ok but if you don't have those guy then thats kind of stupid. overall this is a great game the story modes good and the veres mode is good too.

i bought this game a while back and thought it was awesome. it was really easy but i still loved it. i liked the story mode feature on this game. insted of just 1 on 1 fights you can do some free-roaming and platforming. and it was awesome that the p vs. p mode was free-raoming insted of the side view mode like in all the other fighter games iv played. some of the people said it was way too hard and some said they wanted something like x men legends, well after i beat the game i checked the saved time and it said 4 hours and 15 minutes. so it was pretty danged easy. and if u want something like x men legends, buy x men legends 1 or 2 or get marvel ultiamte alliance, cuz this game isnt an action RPG like them, its a fighter game. over all i think it rocked though, it had tons of great character and cool graphics. if you're a marvel fan or like fighter games, buy this.
