Manhunt - Seek & Destroy

I read all the reviews that were posted here before and decided to get the game. So far I have passed 5 levels and I have to say this game is pretty exciting and addicting. I dont like gory/horror games. This one is different. It is Really gory, so dont buy it if you would not want to see blood being spilled all over the screen when you are chopping someones head off with a machete - because that is exactly one of the executions being performed in Manhunt. I love stealth games(Hitman2, Splinter Cell) and this game packs tons of stealth - you get most of the game points from stealth kills. And its fun to kill the gangmembers - really fun - to sneak from behind them and puncture their back with a crowbar. And if you have earpiece from Socom(I or II) you will hear this idiot comment on your killings and progress. Hes the true maniac, but by now I feel like an animal waiting for its pray right before you make the kill. =]

Dont get this game if you think you will get GTA: Manhunt City. Cause this game has nothing to do with GTA, you dont drive hot cars, fly helicopters, or see beautiful ladies, etc. Instead you get to be this scum who goes around and sadistically kills other scums.

I'd have to say this game is quite addictive. But wouldn't recommend it for kids or even pre-teens. Oh, and if you have trouble telling between fantasy and reality; you will also have problems controlling yourself while walking down the street and not cutting someones head off. SERIOUSLY!

Hey people, guess who? Its your buddy SCOTTY D, and i got somethin to tell u. This is the COOLEST, most GRUESOME, and VIOLENT game i have ever played. Hey, if you are readin this review and your under 17, "GET THE HELL AWAY". Parents, do not let your children play this! This is for adults! It is the only mature ESRB rating that says 17+, that ive ever seen on a game.

I am now goin to explain why this is such a cool game.

1) There are sooo many ways u can kill people in this game.
ex- Smashing people's brains on walls with baseball bats and plunging crowbars into the top of your enemy's head. SOUNDS COOL DONT IT? Its a very good stealth action game, and u need patience cuz timing is everything in this. If u mess up, u'll have a whole gang murdering u like a badass BEAR MAULING. U better save your progress frequently, cuz the difficulty in this game is very hard. You will be starting over alot, so be careful and wise.

2) The Graphics are awesome, best ive seen in a while. The game looks a little spooky and the gangs and members are very well detailed. The sound is very good too. Hunters just blurt crap out like "I can smell the S%#@ in your pants" when they are alerted. They say funny stuff anyway, when they are just walkin around. Oh, and you wear an earpiece in which Starkweather directs u with.

*3) The reason this game is mainly for adults, and not for Children is cuz the game is very realistic. It is not all cartoony like other games, such as GTA 3, and Tenchu. When hunters are gettin their asses hackd to pieces in various ways, u can hear them scream like hell, and gurgle their blood and many other things.

To conclude this review, all i will say besides somethin i forgot to mension is that u need extreme patience and a tough stomach.

Manhunt -- Most violent game ever made on the planet!!

Ha!! And you thought the Grand Theft Auto series was violent. This is by far the most violent game ever made. I personally thought the blood wasn't all that as it was sorta cartoony but it defintely beats GTA's blood splatters by 110%. Since I won't waste my or your time with any plot details, let's just say this is more of a slower Metal Gear Solid type of game, although instead of trying to avoid the enemy and not be caught, you're trying to kill the enemy and not be caught!! It has excellent graphics, better than the cartoony GTA games, very cool horror music (sorta like Silent Hill series) plus the voice acting is top notch, although Cash's voice seemed a little dull to my likings but Starkweather was a true sick puppy. The gangs range from local street thugs to looney bins that look like they came out of a Conan O' Brian show. It is said that this game is extremely nasty at times since you will be plunging crowbars through the back of the enemies' heads plus slicing it off with a machete or meat cleaver, suffocating with plastic bags, stabbing glass shards into the eyeballs, and worst: blowing the head to pieces with a metal baseball bat!! But the violence is really the best here than any game period, the blood seems a little "smokey" like in it's looks. You don't see blood on your weapons and blood doesn't run down characters' clothes when they're being executed, plus there isn't any "damage skins" like on Soldier of Fortune (another very violent game, has better looking blood). But than again, this isn't no GTA title so if little johnny's a freak you might not want him to have this. No offense but you don't want kids like that playing this sort of video game!! For those who are stuck (like I was, I beat it now) than you should get the BradyGames strategy guide by Tim Bogenn which is VERY helpful. The manual that comes with the game is absolute crap but it's bad humor so it's really funny to read just not helpful material if you wanted to win the game overnight. Some said it got too boring after fighting the Hoods and Skinz and Wardogs... But when the Skinz arrived, the game really speeds up!! Revolvers, Sawed-off Shotguns and lots of mayhem (sounds great with headphones on). And eventually you'll kill that Starkweather dude so don't let him keep you down once you reach "Kill The Rabbit" Scene 13. As there is a MAJOR plot twist there!! I hope this review helped, btw I'm 15 but who cares, I know what violence is and this game is very educational, because it shows you:

1: There is some SICK twisted people in this world.
2: Snuff exists, it is a sad and horrible thing.
3: Violence is a feeling that many have lust for, it is not something you'll want to have in your life, unless you're born to be a sicko like some Skinz member.
4: There is racist people in this world, the Skinz gang showed this excellently.
5: Language exists people, and people can have such motors on their mouths. Doesn't mean you have to swear too though!! If you wish to see how bad our world is, play this game to see how humans act when they're about to lose it.

IF YOU'RE UNDER THE AGE OF 13 GET OUTTA THE WAY, kids will find this game both disgusting and offending to them.

This game gets difficult toward Scene 16: Wrongside of the Tracks. You might wanna keep the crowbar from the last scene if you want to execute the S.W.A.T guy behind the door when those other three chase you down via the tunnels. You'll see what I mean when you get very far. And during the Scene 5: Fuelled By Hate. On the Second Crane battle, JUST DON'T TRY TO CRUSH THE HUNTERS, GET OUT OF THE CRANE AND GO BEHIND IT IN THE SMALL SHADOW IT CASTS, SHOOT THEM IN THE HEAD AS THEY GET CLOSER TO YOU!! I hope those hints help you. They made me win the game!! I hope Rockstar makes a sequel to this, and maybe show us the Clowns gang...

I never expected this game to be this great. It's awsome! Your assigned missions, but like Hitman, you can do them anyway you see fit. THis game is definently not for kids, but anyone who can take the gore should go for it! Some people might say it has bad graphics, but it isnt true! the point of the somewhat grainy screen is to make you believe you are on camera, being filmed the whole time. This game deserves ten stars!

this is a awsome game you can cut peoples heads off witha wire. I don't want to talk about any more of the game it would spoil it for you. Go out and get it. Have fun. :)

Relax people, it's Just a game

everyone just relax, this is just a game. A very violent game, but just a game. I have been playing video games dating back to the days of Pong, so i may not be a professional game rater, but can give a very educated rating.
First of all, lets get this out of the way, "there is NO racial slurrs in this game". There is profanity, there is blasphemy, there is profane graffiti, and there are scenes of violent death, but at no time in this game do any of the characters slurr any specific racial group. it appears that rockstar used intellegence and considered the threat of lawsuits before programming this game. Other wise we would have seen the game on CNN being suied.
Gameplay is intense at times and slow at times, but never mundane and there are frequent surprises (death by magnetic crane was very unique). the play is greatly enhanced with the addition of the headset. this allows you to taunt the badguys verbally and allows "the Director" to speak directly into your ear. The "Kill Shots" are unique to any game I've played yet. With over 60 ways to "Deal With" badguys, this was well thought out and really make the game "fun". The personalities of the badguys even make you want to dispatch them.
I have played this through twice, and I can see why some people dislike or even fear this type of game. It is definatly an "ADULT" game("MATURE" seems to lacking of a word), though many of these reviews seem to be written by children. I personally would have a problem seeing anyone under 16 playing this game, but that is a personal thought.
In a word, this is a pretty good game, entertaining(if that is your thing) and worth the money. but it is not for everyone, and does come closer to the line of to violent than most other games (though i believe does not go over that line).And this is definatly not for children. i gave 4 stars because of that.
Finally, I must say that it is best played on a larger TV, in complete darkness with the headset.

amazing game. warning: this is a game by adults for adults!!!

its not the gore or violence. its the amazing gameplay that makes this one of the most underrated games on the ps2.

This Game Is really addictive and i got it the first week it came out and i wuznt really into it cuz it wuz kinda slow but i kept playin it and it jus got really addictive cuz u just wanna go on nd see wut happens at the end th graphics could of been a bit better i think but other then that this game is really fun

I am 13, so I'll admit I'm too young for this game.But unlike many idiots, I can actually play this game and not run down to a park and strangle someone with a shopping plastic bag.So I'm Mature enough for this game.

Manhunt is a stealth-killing game based in the corrupt GTA universe, its not set in Liberty City,Vice City, San Andreas but the sadistic Carcer City.

Its a killing game based on stealth-orientated movements and you are one man versus 10 gangs who are armed and ready to chump into you.They aren't sane so they will have no qualms about killing you, but you're meant the act the same way and make well sure that your hunters are put out of their misery.

The Story is about a man named James Earl Cash, he's been sentenced to death by lethal injection but he wakes up hours later and finds an ear piece, apparently a Snuff film director paid the executioners to inject him with a knockout drug instead of the lethal syringe but to pay the Director back, Cash must escape the place and kill the gang members paid by the Director as gruesome as he can.gangs include lunatics in weird clothing, ex-Army soldiers suffering from severe shellshock and even Police and SWAT officers

You get many weapons, including plastic bags, glass shards, baseball bats, rifles, shotguns, pistols and sharp weapons such as knives and meat cleavers.

The games only downfalls are the fact that it uses a broken stealth engine(I'm an expert at Metal Gear and Splinter Cell so I should know) and the graphics are ALMOST as bad as GTA's but do have the slight betterness

all in all I rated this game 8.8/10

Very Cool but really hard

I rented this game on wendesday with high expectations. When i rented it not knowing much about the game, so it was a mystery. So i popped it in and i was smooth killing from there.The main thing this game offers is the killing. You can hack off head with machenties, smash heads with bats and alot gorrier things.
The sound acting is the best, just listening to the gangsters are funny as hell. They swear and complain about not getting high and not getting laid. The the fmv are messed up. In the game theres a pig/man character who has a chainsaw who cuts people up.
For my final comment is love this game is scary gory and funny so go buy it. Just beware there is heavy swearing and lots of gore and it really freakin hard at time so you will die alot but ing the end you just love this game.
