I have loved Karaoke revolution from the beginning. I didn't think it could be any better than the 3rd version when they added the duets. This version takes the game to a whole new level. There is a wide variety of songs, so many different types of people can play. There are several songs that begin locked, but it didn't take too long to get them unlocked. The mini games are terrible and there was no need for them on the disk.

I found that it is near impossible to both sing and dance at the same time. If you don't know all the words to a song, it is impossible to read the singing and dance lines at the same time. Besides, it's extremely difficult to speak, much less sing while exerting yourself on the dance pad. I recommend having one person sing and another dance. This changes it up and gives you some great songs to dance to. I like the DDR games, but never have been crazy about the songs, so I really like the great songs.

Here is a complete list of the songs on the game as well as the artist of the version of the song:

Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing - Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell
Ain't Too Proud to Beg - The Temptations
Always - Atlantic Starr
American Woman - Lenny Kravitz
Brick House - The Commodores
Call Me - Blondie
Crazy - Aerosmith
Crazy in Love - Beyonce
Do You Really Want To Hurt Me - Culture Club
Drive - Incubis
Dust in the Wind - Kansas
Endless Love - Lionel Richie & Diana Ross
Every Little Thing She Does is Magic - The Police
Everybody Wants to Rule the World - Tears for Fears
Everywhere - Michelle Branch & Santana
Fame - Irene Cara (from the soundtrack)
Fly - Hilary Duff
For You I Will - Monica
Greatest Love of All - Whitney Houston
Headstrong - Trapt
Here I Go Again - Whitesnake
I Don't Want to be - Gavin DeGraw
(I've Had) The Time of My Life - Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes (Dirty Dancing soundtrack)

Santa brought this game, and I don't think we've stopped playing since! It is such a blast, and really brings the family together. We were all so excited when my husband finally beat platinum on "Brick House" (it was our last one left that wasn't platinum) the other day. It has a great variety of songs...new and old. Another reviewer said there weren't enough new songs, and I disagree. My friends' daughters (21 and 16) even commented on how many new ones there were (but they still chose to sing "Take On Me" from the 80's. My 8-year-old and my husband have gotten perfect scores on "Material Girl." In fact, my daughter loves all the old 80's tunes. The only problem we've had with this game is that the arrows don't show up for the dancing. We don't have a mat, but we tried it at someone else's house. Anyway, I'm sure we'll get that squared away by the time we get a mat. I cannot recommend this game enough! Don't get the headset, the regular mics are better...be sure to get two for duets!

I don't know how to extoll the praises of this game loudly enough. We plugged it in on Christmas morning and the entire family and friends have been playing it ever since. The selection of songs is excellent. The sing and dance feature brings sends this game WAY out in front of earlier editions (which we also have). The eye toy is a good addition. Just everything about it is first rate. I can't think of a single drawback. My only suggestion is that you purchase the game and make it an experience for the entire family, PARENTS TOO!

Can it get any better?

I own all previous Karaoke games, and they were all great! This one includes so many other activities as well it makes it even more interesting and fun. In comparison to the prior 3 Karaoke games, the only thing I don't like about this one is the font that is used in the menu's. Although attractive to the eye, it is hard to read. It would of been better if they had the menu setup look the same as in the prior 3 Karaoke games. Other than that minor detail, this game is a blast.

This game is so much fun! I don't own it, but my friend does, and I want to get it for my birthday. But I think I should tell you why exactly anyone needs to own this game!
First of all, there are 50 songs to sing. Some you have to unlock, but all you have to do is sing an already available song. You're rated on the notes you are supposed to sing, and if you don't exactly know the lyrics, you can just hum along if you want to.
There is a character editor where you can make your name, characteristics and clothing for a character. Or you can pick an already made character. The thing which is totally descriptive is that you can pick the body type of your character: muscular, curvy, skinny...the works.
There are unlockables, too! Over the course of the game, you unlock songs, outfits, and accessories!
You can also do medly and sing-off activities. Medly is when you pick 5 songs and sing individual parts of each of them. Sing-off (I can't remember if that is the actual name) is when you do different types of styles of the game. So you can do short song, medly, and all kinds of other things. Then you can see "who will be named champion of karaoke!"
This game is incredibly fun and enjoyable, as you can see. If you do buy it, I suggest you buy two microphones, then you can sing duets (also incredibly fun). This game is perfect for all ages; my neighbors have children at the age of 7 and he loves singing his heart out to some of his favorite songs. So take my word for it, and you will be thankful you did!

hours of fun!

My 8 and 10 year old LOVE this. I highly recommed it to anyone. It helps teach kids how to sing with pitches and tones. The kids love to dress up their characters. Even the boys in the neighborhood get invovled. I see this lasting for years to come.

This game is great for when you have a group of friends come over. It really breaks the ice between you and anybody you may not be familiar with and it is incredibly entertaining. I suggest this game for everybody.

If you love this game... you HAVE to get an eye toy! It allows you to take a photo of your own face and intigrates it into the game for your character. I'm not talking about a flat screen still shot...it makes a model of your face for your character. This has got to be the coolest thing I ever saw!!!!!! You also have an option to sing on the eye toy stage and can watch yourself on the screen while you are singing but we haven't tried that yet... because it's super fun to use the eye toy cameos!
