I love this game! I started out by playing this game before I played the first 3 GTA's - let me tell you, the other games never had a chance after that.
In GTA Vice City you can explore the city and go alot farther than you could in the previous GTAs. This game has lots of stimulating missons, with a wide array of weapons to choose from in order to complete them. You can use rocket launchers, shotguns, flame throwers, screwdrivers, baseball bats, hammers, knives, and more.
The game lets you boost cars, start fights, pick up hookers (yes, it's true), buy property, and complete the main missions and side missions like delivering pizzas in record time, driving taxis (this earns you money), and racing in derbies & street races.
There are also alot of hidden things in the game such as x-rated images on buildings, hidden packages, and other things.
I'm a tomboy who needs a game that can keep me entertained and stimulated and this game does it. Now, I can't wait until the next version comes out!
awww man not another one

Grand Theft Auto Vice City. I had to wait patiantly for this game, and it was worth the wait. You play Tommy Vercetti, a crimminal who is looking for the stolen money from his boss, Sonny Forelli. You embark on a journey of fun, violence and treachery as you play through an all new city full of new weapons, missions, vehicles and machines. The missions get tough and there are more places you can enter for fun. You can also fly helicopters, airplanes, and ride motor cycles. Need I say more??

The fact is, after playing GTA3, I didn't want any other game because it was so brilliant!!! Now when I heard about the release of the next Grant Theft Auto, I did anything i could've done to get, and then finally in the end i got it!! Then i was shocked after playing the game until i could work with the third contact, that it was so boring and dull, and so what if it had good graphics, and so what if you could change your clothes and buy companys and different savehouses!! I was actually getting excited about being able to buy different savehouses and companys and clothes, it just wasn't what i expected. Even though i found that the game sucked so bad, i still carried on playing (since it was so easy) to see if it would get any better, but it didn't, so it was a total waste of my time!!! I was even more shocked at when you kick and hit the people when they're on the ground, that noise is so unrealistic, unlike the one in GTA3!!! The amount of money you get from missions is absolutley shocking, I meen, in GTA3 the first mission is about $1000, but in vice city the highest you mostly get is about $5000, when in GTA3 the highest I have ever got so far is $500000000!!! There are only 2 islands (the big, main ones) and then there's 3 small ones with just about 1 road in each , and even the 2 big mainlands (islands) are so small, and there's too much area with too much water in it, and so Rockstar could've even have been thoughtful enough to let the character be able to swim!! So i got really pissed off when i got that game!!! So what i think you should be going for is GTA3 NOT!!!! GTA : VICE CITY!! Thank you!!
Me liky!

HEy, Vice City is GREAT. and its DEFINITLY a GREAT buy for twenty dollars. but if you just want a new game to occupy your time, i would go with san andreas, its more open ended than vice, and the games story lines don't connect at all. So it doesn't matter what order you get them in
Greatest Game ever?

Following GTA3, I was excited to hear about VC. There was hype about a larger city, better music, more vehicles, better graphics, more missions, EVERYTHING. However, following VC's release, my friend rented it, and we played it at my house. I found I had a distinct dislike for it.
Later on, I purchased it to give it a second chance. I liked it much better this time, but not by much. Much of what Rockstar promised was delivered, but I had a dislike for much of it.
Graphics - Wow, this definitely could have been improved. The graphics is certainly better than GTA3, but not by much. The cars look better and the water looks slightly better, but everything else looks virtually the same. There are STILL graphics breakage on the game and there are STILL tons of pop ups!
Rockstar certainly could have fix this, but they didn't. Why?
Music - Well, the music is certainly different, but I didn't like it at all. Personally, I love 80's music, but Rockstar's choices were rather poor, IMO. Some of their choices were great, but most were bad. Aside from that, I felt that the music didn't fit the gangster atmosphere. In GTA3, the music was custom, and fit the dark, but comical atmosphere well. Hearing Aneka in VC didn't exactly give me a mental image of an uzi-toting gangster, though. Instead, it gave me an image of a Japanese boy leaving a relationship he was dissatisfied with.
K-Chat, the talk station, was funny, but not on the level of Chatterbox, IMO.
Story - The story is rather cliche, but it was presented well. The cell phone really helped add to the story, but I felt the story was too predictable.
Replayability - I didn't find great replayability in this game. I didn't even bother to beat it. Personally, the rather bright atmosphere got to me. Everything is just so bright in VC. Personally, I liked the dark atmosphere of Liberty City from GTA3, so I had hoped for something like that in VC, but it just wasn't there. Getting to the second part of the city certainly helped, but not by much. The second part was certainly darker, but I thought it was too restricted. It didn't allow for much flexibility.
The new vehicles add to the replayability greatly, though. I had fun riding helicopters, bikes, and all manner of transportation, but it did not last long. Vice City is definitely larger than Liberty City too, you can easily see that, but there's a problem. VC often had the same road stretching far with many twists and turns. In LC, the road don't usually stretch for too long without veering off, but it had variety. You go from Portland to Shoreside Vale, you notice a big difference. You go from the first part of VC to the second part and you'll notice less lights. Yes, the city could have use some big improvements.
Overall - Personally, it was mostly the little things that eventually got to me, but it is easy to see why someone may like this game. I recommend a rent first before purchase.

I got GTA3 when it first came out and it blew me away. Then I heard they were making one set in the 80's and I was so pumped. I was born in 1980 and I love everything 80's. So when I finally got this game I played it for days upon days. The music is so awesome and I recently purchased the box set. The game captures the heart of the 80's. There is nothing better than driving down the boulevard at sunset listening to Emotion FM or speeding through the city on a motorbike listening to Motley Crue on V-Rock. This game has it all. So after playing it off and on for 2 years another GTA came out. Its called San Andreas. The scope of it is just awesome. There is so much to do in it. But after playing it for a few hours I couldnt help but miss Vice City. Vice City has much better characters and setting. Vice City captures a mood. SA while overing so much improvements just doesnt have the same feel as VC. What I would die to see for the next GTA is a return to Vice City. Imagine a game with all the improvements of SA and better graphics set in Vice City a couple of years later. They could use the same radio station names but have different songs. They could enlarge the city to include some other cities. Oh well I can dream cant I. Anyways Buy Vice City.
