The graphics in this game aren't that bad but they sure could fixed up a little. The graphics are good but it looks like there is a haze over them whenever it plays one of the cutscenes. On the back of the case it says that the game can be viewed in Progressive Scan (PS), but switching it to PS is tricky and wierd. There is no option on the menu, so I went to the Help at EAGames. I followed their instructions and I still haven't been able to switch to PS.
The gameplay is pretty good. Being able to have two guns at the same time is cool and easy to use. The levels are cool but long (some can take up to an hour or more to complete and thats on the EASY setting). The game even on the EASY setting is a challenge. This is the only Bond game I have (I have 2) that I was not able to beat all the levels on the same day that I got it. A negative aspect of the game is that you can't jump. This doesn't cause any problems as you never have the need to, but it is always fun to jump.
Multiplayer is fun. There are so many levels to play on, and lots of the levels are based on a location in a real Bond movie. Most, if not all the levels, have player activated actions that can injure or kill other players that are caught by the surprise. Setting up a multiplayer game is a little disappointing though. There are only about 8 skins you can chose (unless you can unlock more), which aren't even any of the cool/main characters, except Goldeneye. Once the characters have been chosen you get to select the type of multiplayer game it will be and what level. Thats easy but then if you acidently hit the "X" button, the game starts...with the default weapons, Goldeneye "powers", etc. If you want to customize the "advanced settings" you have to push the "O" button at the map selection screen. It is very easy to forget this and skip it.
Overall this is a good game. The graphics and gameplay aren't "crap" as some people have said, but yes they could use a little work. But don't let this discourage you from getting the game.
Fun, but I've seen better

When I first got this game, I was addicted to it. I only wished I could play multiplayer more often (there's no bots).
Listen, I wanna give this game a four. It's just so fun! But there are numorous things that hold this game back from glory. Here's the breakdown:
Good:
.All the weapons you would expect, as well as some suprises
.For the most part, good multiplayer maps.
.Once upon a 2004-2006, there was online for this game
.DUEL WIELDING!!!!!!!!
.Uplink, Golden Gate Bridge, and Funhouse just rock
Bad:
.some glitches (no game freezes so far though, and one glitch is really interesting...see my discussion "GoldenEye Glitches")
.Single-player gets repetitive after a while, some levels too long
.thanks to the great planners at EA (yeah right), online has been shut down for PS2 as of 11/17/06 (PS3 launch)
You may notice the lack of "bad" things. The reason I give this game a three and not a four is because there isn't anything in this game that another game doesn't do better. But this game is still really fun, and you should rent it (for GC, PS2, Xbox). Peace out :).
its a good game but is this all they could make up

This game was preaty cool. In the game you work for goldfinger and Odd Job versing Dr No. That seemed cool but it didnt fell like the other James Bond games as before. But what made me mad was when I heard you work for Goldfinger I thought you were going to be the villian but no that would make it to fun and thats not what they were going for. Also the graphics suck. But still it was a good game, like you get to use a goldeneye which you can use to fight people. I never beat the game I got stuck on the last level and thats because I have no patience. So if you want to try this game I suggest you rent it.
Great in-depth FPS

This game is awesome. It is Bond first person shooting at a whole new level.Instead of being Bond you are a agent hired by goldfinger that was released from MI6 for killing Bond (I didn't ruin anything. It happens in the first cutscene.)
The game allows you to dual-weild weapons, much like Halo2&3.This really helps when you are out-numbered(which is most of the time).Don't let that drive you away from this fantastic game. It is pretty easy on the easy difficulty and gets harder as you progress into one-life mode. The missions are kinda lengthy but not much longer than Halo. Also the check point places are brilliantly placed.
Multiplayer is awesome. You can't use bots but you can play online. It is also fun blowing away your pals in split-screen.
