This game is simply great. The focus button lets you go into super slow motion. You can do cartwheels (R2 or L2, hold L1 and click X and R1 and you shoot while doing one) backword or forward and you can dodge bullets like that. You can run up walls and run them and shoot and do wall kicks.
The only bad thing: Minor glitches*after beating someone up it wouldn't let me walk) and the arrow is confusing.

Amazing Cutscenes
Great voices
Great graphics
Very interactive *you can take Powerade out of the vendor*

Bottom Line: Buy this game right now. You won't regret it even if you don't like the Matrix trilogy.
PS. The Matrix Reloaded was amazing !!

I've been playing games quite awhile and this is the first one to truly feel like i was in a movie. The effects and focus moves are all unbelievable. My brother and I were playing it and had to pause the damn thing just to wipe away the tears from our eyes. This game is nasty..its wild its a monster.

Get it NOW.

I was lukewarm about this game at first because of all the bad reviews. Well, maybe those reviewers have more taste for challenge and less thirst for violence than I. Because, personally, this is not the BEST game I have ever played, but it is the game that made me FEEL the best by far when I was done.
I haven't tried the good ol' PS2 version yet, but I've used my friend's Gamecube extensively. And on that, the graphics are great. No squares, no bad voices, no odd things. So, message to you with things like Atari and computers: stop whining and get a new system if ya don't like the graphics!
But the gameplay system is what makes this so grand, even if it had the horrible blotchy pre-rendered feel of, say, Resident Evil 2. Your best friend in this game is called Focus, which essentially slows the world (most of it) to a crawl. Bullets chug by your head, leaving those lovable shockwave rings, as you execute all those moves you've seen in the movies for the sole purpose of whipping someone's .... Doing the moves is not complex, but really rather seamless: you point in the direction you want to go, and choose a button; your character will automatically adjust to the environment (I.E. jump off of a wall and do a neck-breaking kick.) Sure, it's easy. Well, people, climbing onto a roller coaster is easy too. It's also one heck of a ride.

A few things I'll sum up:

Pros: Nice graphic quality (on some systems), totally unique and awesome gameplay system, nice dovetail with the movie, actual live-action cutscenes with good acting (nice change from Resident Evil!), great selection of real-life guns, Slo-mo bullets, front flips, side flips, any flips, flying forward while spinning and shooting, flying BACKWARDS while shooting, beating up on agents, beating up on SWAT teams, beating up on random people...

Cons: Yes, I will say it...it's easy. (So stop playing on easy mode. Did you ever think of that? Wow. Brilliance.)

this game is a fun game the graphics are pretty good and you'll enjoy playing it. It did feel like your mostly just along for the ride rather then the main character it is linear but it is fun.

Better on Gamecube

Well, the Matrix is a great game and all, but get it on the gamecube if your going to get it at all.

I am a 14 year old Frustrated Gamer!!!! This is a fantastic game. The martial arts are great, and the combos are sick. As for the guns, sigh... don't ask. Great detailed guns, machine guns the best. The levels are a little bland except for the driving level. A little like James Bond, but third person and with martial arts. I'm really ticked off because I got it and my parents have to approve of the game. So my dad watched it and he said it was alright except for "shooting hand guns at point blank range"(his father was killed with a gun) then my mom looked at it and she got really mad because I was on a level where you run dow stairs and mow down people with machine guns (pretty fun) and she HATED IT! oh well enough about my problems....anyways GREAT GAME buy it

I wasn't going to buy this game, but then changed my mind and got it. I was dissapointed with the main start screen and load/save screen graphics. They are terrible!! But, the gameplay and moves are really fun and i enjoyed this game. The actual graphics in the game are quite good, nothing special. I recommend this game, but trust me, you are going to need the cheats becuase it's impossible without them !! And the Hacking part of the game is also quite fun. But the graphics really need to be worked on if there is going to be another one.

I love this game but i don't think its as good on this system. The problem is the graphics aren't as great on PS2 they are a lot better on X-box. I have tried all of the systems controls and i also liked the X-Box controls the best.This is a great game but the system we are talking about isn't as great. it is a wonderful game and if you like these kind of special effects you will love it like i did. another problem was that i beat it in 2 days but i played one of the levels over and over again, it was the one called GOT IT! It is a wonderful game and i like how it is split up in chapters so if you die you can start off close to where you were. it is a wonderful but if graphics and controls matter to you then it is better on X-Box. It is great on BOTH systems but i like the (the big black box, as some people would say) X-box version better.
