In Destroy All Humans, you play as Crypto the alien, on a mission for the Furon empire to extract DNA from human brain stems and eventually "Destory all humans." The story takes place in America in the 1950s, with many of the b-movie cliches that follow.
You begin as Crypto-137, the 137th clone, and each time you die a new clone is activated, giving you unlimited lives, the game takes place on foot and in your ship, each with four weapons, plus telekinesis on the ground. Their are six cities that you jump around to for different missions, and after you complete the mission objectives you can roam the city collecting brain stems, and doing "Time Trial missions," for extra DNA, used to purchase upgrades on your weapons and ship.
The basic gameplay and controls are fairly simple, feeling much like the GTA series, personally I feel the game is a little short, but the graphic though a little childish looking, feel right, the soundtrack is a sort remixed 50s track, and fairly decent voice-over with some funny jokes that parody early alien films. Overall it is a great game, simple enough, but with a few missions that took me about 15 clones. And when I finished the game I was only about 60% complete, so the secret collecting and time trials are a fairly large part of the game.
Overall I give the game a 6 out of 10.
Decent Fun

Original idea; Aliens taking over Humans. And it turned out to be a good game. The MAIN character sounds a bit like a military dude, or Jack Nicholson, and the other one ( i'm not sure if it is or isn't, ) but he sounds like ZIM from Invader ZIM. ( Nickelodeon TV Show. ) The game is really quite fun. There are things you can do such as pick people and animals up and toss them around, like using ' the force '. It's just an overall good game, but missions get repetative, and tossing stuff around does too. It's a funny game, not bad of a story, good acting and cutscenes, but it's not the greatest.

Destroy all humans is a fun game that lets you ocasionaly be free to kill humans as you please. The plotline is very smart and every level is action packed shot'em up fun. This has to be my favorite game of all time.
Simple action game, but doesn't really do much

This game has an interesting concept. You're an alien, and you have to take over the country. You're named Crypto, and you accomplish this task through over twenty levels, spanning six areas. Each mission, with the exception of the last, is very short (i.e. less than 20 minutes). They are mostly in the form of a third person shooter, but sometimes require you take control of a flying saucer.
The gameplay mechanics are pretty simple. For the third person aspect, you have 4 total weapons, and a few telepathic powers (brainscan, lift objects, copy the form of a human). Most missions require you to get to some certain place. Often times you need to copy the form of a person and walk to the place. It's a little annoying, because you can't use weapons or pick up objects in a human form, and certain federal agents keep disrupting your human form (which, in latter missions, means you start the mission over). Afterwards, you just have to shoot people, protect, or destroy objects. Nothing radical or special here. The controls are really easy to master though.
For the saucer parts, you control a saucer that apparently can't go up or down. You use a few weapons to destroy certain things, and you can collect items to give you more ammo or heal your ship. Pretty simple, though standard fair.
This game, though, is very playable. The graphics are pretty good. The levels, though really small, offer some freedom of movement (everyone says GTA, but it's definitely not as large or as open). Except for the last level, you don't repeat or get stuck in one place for too long. It's a bit on the easy side in the beginning, and a bit annoying at the end, but the difficulty balance is pretty good. Also, the cutscenes and humor are both funny and relevant to today's politics. That's an added bonus.
However, there are numerious problems with this game. Many people somehow love this game, but unfortunately, I don't see it. First off, there are no mission saves or checkpoints. This is beyond lame. I don't like repeating stuff I already did. Even though missions are short, I still don't want to repeat 15 minutes of gameplay if I die in the end. At the end of the game, getting to the boss requires 20 minutes of gameplay. After dying a few times, I said forget this and used a cheat to finish the last 5 minutes. Secondly, this game doesn't offer much in terms of gameplay. Not much strategy or innovation involved. The shoot 'em up is really standard, and the stealth movement is annoying because it's just boring (take the shape of a human, scan a person, avoid federal agent, rinse, repeat). Finally, there is no fluidity or continuity. There are constant breaks in the action, as missions are small and repetitive, so that it is a major chore to sit and play this game for more than an hour straight.
All in all, it's not a bad game, but it really isn't that good of a game either.
Pros:
Good graphics
Good cut-scenes
Funny
Cons:
No misison saves, checkpoints
Short missions
No fluidity, continuity
No online, multiplayer, lasting qualities
Repetitive
Unoriginal gameplay mechanics.

What a wonderful game! Kept my husban busy all winter and was fun for the whole family as well. The missions are fun and the commanders comments are a scream. Our alien hero is a mix between Jack Nickleson and Dirty Harry. Very fun.
AWSOME GAME but once you beat it not so cool

When this game came in the mail I was syched!! I mean i have seen the comercials and i thought to myself WOW this looks cool. It was too. But after I beat it I wondered what would happen or what i could unlock. I was disapointed. All you could do after you beat it was play the levels over again with no rules. All i could do was collect probes. It was fun at first because i was trying to get all the upgrades for my saucer and guns. But after that what else? All i could unlock were weird movies. The only thing i could do was play the entire game over again. This game was awsome but now it seems kind of dull. I hope they make a nother destroy all humans where you can attack other countries. That would be the ultimate game!!! You know like when you start out you are attacking europe then when you complete europe you could attack africa or something. And they could add more weppons and upgrades and little mini games. This game was great!! but they could make it better. (no offense)
An amazing and worthwhile game that all should own.

The invasion is on! With great graphics, voiceovers, sound effects, gameplay, and sweet unlockables, this game packs a punch! An amazing and interesting storyline, along with comical tidbits here and there, are the icing on the cake. And what about the ability to pick up and throw almost every object in the environment, including cars and humans, with your mind?! There are awesome futuristic weapons, too. Great mission objectives, and plenty of references to events of the time, like the discovery of Elvis. Overall, this game kicks As*teroids! Join the Alien army today, and Destroy all Humans!

This is a great game for anyone. They play control is simple enough that you can master in a matter of minutes. They story is something any fan of 50's sci-fi movies will love. It is story and plot like you haven't seen before. The humor in the game is just funny as anything. If you want a great game for some great fun this is one for you.
