Mediocre Rehash of CoN: Realms of Everquest

2 Rating: 2, Useful: 7 / 12

I liked the prequel "Champions of Norrath - Realms of Everquest" and was looking forward to an innovative sequel in the "Return to Arms". I was very disappointed to see that there is very little that's new in this version. Except for the two "new" characters, the characters look EXACTLY the same as before, with the same spells and abilities. The much-hyped "total camera control" amounts to false advertising, in that it allows a very slight zoom and that is all. There is NO visible improvement or innovative new feature at all. This game is showing its age, and there are plenty of better alternatives out there, like "Ratchet and Clank - Going Commando" and "Dynasty Warriors 4", both available for under $20. Skip the overpriced and overhyped "Return to Arms".

AWESOME!!!

If you like hack and slash RPG's, you'll love this game. It has 7 characters classes, a wide assortment of weapons and armor, and lots of levels. I was hooked on this game for months. You can also take the game online and have even more fun! Although a lot of people online cheat and that is a problem, if you can find some non-cheaters, then you're in for a great time!

return to arms rocks the rpg world

this is a must have rpg video game it rocks better than the original in my opinion.
the graphics are awesome as well as the feel and the sounds are great also.
very high replay just like in the original you have the settings from beginner to hard.
i fell in love with hack and slash rpg games the game that got me hooked is an oldy but goody called diablo.
in this game you can be good or can be evil hmmm choices anyway there is alot of exploring to do as well as working on your person who u are playing.
the only con to this game or my biggest complaint just like in the original champions the camera angle as in zoom in or out can be a drag at times.
there are so many freaking upgrades you can do with your weapons as well as your armour.
another issue that i loved was the fact you can carry over your person from the original to play in this game.
you have a variety of missions as well as side quest to complete i havent bought the guide yet but i suggest that you do because i know for a fact even though i have beaten both i probably missed alot of things so it is good to have the guide handy.
the controls of the game are simple and easy to use the pain as i said above is the camera issue.
if your a fan of diablo or even the baldurs gate games then you will love this.
if your new to the rpg gaming world i highly reccomend this game to you.
this is a five star game would give it a ten anyway go out and get it and have fun

This game is awsome, especially if you want to play with more than one person. Even better than the first one.

Better then the first Champions game

First off let me just say that I couldn't wait for this game to come out. The first CON was one of the best games that I've played. Its storyline may have been a little on the weak side but the gameplay more than made up for it. So needless to say when I found out they were making a sequel I couldn't wait. Here are my major complaints for the game. The storyline is weaker than the first one....which is pathetic because CON's story line was pathetic to begin with. So along with the crappy storyline comes the shortcuts that the designers took making the game. If I wanted to play CON with 2 extra characters then I would have imagined it. When all the levels are pretty much the same except for new enemies....it doesn't make for a fun experience. Next...the shop in the game is BAD! They made health and mana potions WAY to expensive. The resale value on items are a 10th of what they'll cost you.

Now some good points about the game. The items that you find during adventuring are better than CON's items. Although they're the same levels...these levels are much bigger.

I guess if you like the first one your going to go out and buy it....so its not bad. But it doesn't deserve more than a 3.

This is an quest based RPG game that is practically just "Hack and Slash" and "pick up items" . It is an excellent and semi-addictive game if you do not want to read through massive manuals to figure out what is going on, as is the case with a lot of good RPG games these days. The graphics are good, too. A real keeper....

Excellent followup game

This is a great followup to CoN - still a very solid and gorgeous hack-and-slash game that is easy to pick up and hard to put down. Tons of cool weapons. Great co-op mode will let the girlfriends get in there and give it a try with their men, and girls, try not to be too annoyed with the cantalope cha-chas! A great game and worth the money...lots of replay value here.
