This game was indeed a great adaptation of the book. The visuals were amazing and the story was right on. HOWEVER-the good qualities of this game end there. I am most upset with the cheapness of the graphics... the visuals are stunning until some of the characters actually move and ruin it. The gameplay was deadeningly slow, I put a full 30 hours into the game and I feel as though nothing happened the entire time. I know that there will probably be little I can say to those of you die-hard Tolkein fans out there to stop you from ever playing this game but I think you will agree with me once you have. This game looks great but the game play makes this one of the worse games I have ever played. [...]

True to Tolkien

As a Lord of the Rings fan I have to say that this game does a great job representing the works of J.R.R. Tolkien. The game has a lot of details and includes a lot of elements of the book. In addition, the game has great graphics and allows you to control the camera angles so that you can explore the entire area you are at. And you have the ability to play as either Frodo, Aragorn or Gandolf, which makes exploring Middle Earth a lot of fun. Would definitely have to recommend this game!

Total Bummer!!!!

I thought that since this game had to do with Lord of the Rings, that it meant the game would automatically be great- but I was wrong... I am telling ya, don't waste any your hard-earned workmoney or allowence or ANY money on this game. GO take a look at the Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets game... I think it looks a bit more magical than this rushed, boring game.....

On the XBOX Lord of the Rings is incredible!!!

I've never seen JRR Tolken's work be presented so well. With the 3-D epic incredible adventures and epic quests of lord of the rings: The fellow ship of the rings for XBOX and the realistic 3-D environments just like in the book, I can't say there's anything wrong with this game. I recommend this for any XBOX gamer!!^_^

Don't waist [money] renting this game

This is a bad bad game. The play is slow and nothing happens. Wow you get to throw rocks and use a walking stick to fight bees. I want the hour I waisted on this game back.

Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring for the Xbox is a fun game that is better than the PS2, PC, and GBA versions. The graphics are nice and very detailed. The sound is great with some enchanting music (score). Gameplay lasts from 9 to 10 hours: that is 9 to 10 hours of fun and excitement. The plot goes by author J.R.R. Tolkien's brilliant story very well! I highly recommend you buy Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring for the Xbox.

i personally liked this game. it is great. the environments are superior and we get to see great places from the story. however this videogame is not based in paeter jacksons film, it is based in the book. my only complaints are that the combat style is sloopy and that the company who developed this videogame dindt do the two towers or the return of the king. however, this is a must have

The Fellowship is not a strong one here!

Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings brings us ever so deeper into the world of Hobbits and wizards. The game is design to be a RPG, but doesn't deliver. The game lacks aside elements that make a complete RPG. The game could of use more interactivity with the environment, more things to do(the game will take you about three hours to beat!) and the graphics are not up to X-Box par. With that, it does include the adventure with Willow and Todd Bonbadil which is a little good addition to the game overall, but is forgotten later in while you progress.Although it may lack in dept, it makes up with a fun engine, supposily a RPG, it reminds me of a platform: Worriors of Might and Magic, a good game, but not great.

Big dissapointment

After seeing the movie "The Lord of the Rings, The Felloship of the Ring"I couldn't wait till they made the xbox game for it. As soon as I figured out about the game by Vivendi I ran down to the store and bought it. Unfortanantly the game did not turn out to be what I wanted. The choice of characters that you could be was not the best. For example I was a bit dissapointed that you couldn't play as Legolas (my favorite) or even Gimili the brave dwarf. The game in my opinion was also too short. It only took me three hours to beat the game, and since it didn't have multiplayer I soon got bored with it. If I were you I would not buy this game. Instead I would recommend The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. It has better graphics, and selection of characters. It also lets you play through both movies instead of just the first one.
