A fun little LAN party game.

I started playing UT in 1999 and was introduced to Tactical Ops at a LAN party. I soon downloaded all the UT patches (which I can't find online anymore) and worked up my own install for my friends to use on our test network at work. This game is not overly resource intensive and gameplay is quite good, even on slower machines. I decided to buy the retail version for my travel laptop because I play UT2k4 more than I do UT99 and it saves me just a little bit on drive space over the UT99 install with added TO mods. Overall this is a very good game, excellent for the price I got it for (less than $7 US with shipping) and makes a great addition to any FPS collection.

Yes mon! Fester be right mon! I'd also like to add that even if you are horrible at it like me you can still have fun by relentlessly taunting your opponent with a plethora of cheesy commands and insults delivered with the panache of a bad imitation russian accent!

Yes, it's true... I have been playing Tactical Ops since they were named S.W.A.T.... I remember the good ol days... it has changed over the couple years. 2 1/2 I think. But anyways... this is a wicked mod you guys. I recommended this to all my friends/family ... my dad even plays! He is 43! Anywho, it makes the game more fun when more and more people join... so if you like counter-strike... u will love this mod! It has the same gameplan in a way... but as u can see by the pics... not even close in graphics/game play wise (On TacticalOps) Half-Life engine isnt even as close as this good!

I, too, have been playing this mod since it's inception. Let me tell you, this IS the only FPS! Great graphics, cool maps, and REAL STRATEGY! Teamplay is essential, and that's what makes this game a notch above all others. Good Job, TO Team.

Since downloading the original modification (v1.2) i have immensely enjoyed playing Tactical Ops (TO for short). Reasons ? Here are my top 5 reasons :

1.) Intense gameplay
2.) Amazing arsenal
3.) High-detailed maps
4.) Excellent sound quality
5.) A huge online community to make friends

I must hand it to Shag and his team. TO was one of the fastest-growing and tremendous modifications and still is highly enjoyable, and now that the retail version is coming out, the quality of the game will hundred-fold. It will have anyone hooked on it for hours, regardless of skill level. The best feature, though,of the game must be the online multiplayer feature. Never fails to amuse, excite as well as stimulate anyone playing offline to try his luck against the rest of the world with servers in every continent.

I am playing TO for over 2 years when the first beta Version was coded by Shaggy Boy. So i witnessed every step of the impressive evolution of TACTICAL OPS !!! Its the most addictive Modification i ever saw. Whatever you prefer Tac-Ops will fulfill your desire !!!

Tactical Ops is one of the best squadshooters in the scene. Better than Counter-Strike and no competitor for games like Global Operations or Team Factor.
