Good but some flaws

I have experieced that TP2001 is a great game. I have TP97-2001, it seems that 2001 is the best version there is. However, there are some flaws. The baserunning is difficult. Almost impossible. The computer seems to throw at the base all day. In one game, the computer threw 28 times in a row to first base. What kind of system error is that? Another one is that you cannot advance just the first base runner, when you have a guy at third. For some reason, the runner on third will come home. Hmm... another error? Well, on the bright side, the game graphics and the hitting stands are nice. Major improvement from 2000 version.

Disappointment: When will they post roster updates?

Other games like Harball 5 had roste updates, why won't EA sports do the same? ???

i played this game while also renting its top rival"MLB 2001". Although Triple Play 2001 has cool teams and the added players, it was not nearly as good as MLB 2001, which does have Griffey with the Reds. The grafics are alot more realistic on MLB 2001 than they are in Triple Play 2001. Overall, I like MLB 2001 more so than The newest Triple Play release.

Well this game is awsome you can create players so you can make youself and go on your favorite team. and you get to play with rel pros on real teams and best of all there are home run derbys its not that much money i play it every day so buy it

Baseball for the little Fans

Triple Play 2000 is an exciting game. It has good graphics with good gameplay. If you are looking for a more REALISTIC game then I say get Microsoft Baseball 2001. It has all the ways of gameplay that can make anyone appreciate the game.

I've bought Triple Play Baseball twice (the second time two years after the first time, out of stubborness). It doesn't work. The first time I bought it (forget which version it was, they all stink), I installed it, set up a season, but when I tried to play, it froze. This week I bought it again (newer version) but when I try to run it at all, the same image repeats across the entire screen. I've gone to Compaq and Microsoft And EA SPorts' web sites and downloaded upgrades for my computer but it's no use. My computer is not exactly ancient, either.
The game is awful I miss Old Time Baseball, an offshoot of Tony LaRussa baseball. And I just bought Baseball Mogul 2002. This time, Triple Play goes in the garbage, and if anyone asks me about this product, I'll laugh.

Simply the best! (of its time)

This game is the best! But now TPB will overtake it. But it can, TPB is just the 2002 edition of this game. If u want to get this game, get it i cant stop you, but for a newer game get TPB. I am not saying the TP2K1 is bad, but TPB is better because it is better, so if you like to have up-to-date things get TPB!!!

Translations! TPB=Triple Play Baseball TP2K1= Triple Play 2001 (thought that might be helpful!)

Poor graphics takes away from gameplay

I know graphics don't make a game, but in this case, with bad controls and poor gameplay, it does. I bought this game because I felt EA Sports was one of the top software companies. They still are, but I think you should look at different games before choosing this one.

Ok guys i will make this short. If your looking for a baseball game i recomend to get this one because the only bad thing here is once you have all the rewards it gets easyer but if your a starter i realy think you should get this.

I played this game four times and then I spent a week and a half trying to get it to work again. I keep getting the error message "SOFTTRI_setdisplaymode - ERROR CODE (softtristatus) 80004005". After removing and reinstalling the game, removing my other games, and upgrading DirectX, I still get the error, and I've given up. This may be a common situation. ... ... ... in the technical support forum.) The game is wonderful until it doesn't work. Do not buy it unless you really enjoy frustration!

PS: Wait about a month until you order the manual. The game will quit working before you need it.
