I got the Sims House Party yesterday. It is da bomb!!! I t isn't quite as great as I expected, but still totally awesome! You can just click on the phone and select "Throw Party" and people will just start showing up! The costume trunk is also really awesome. You can have everyone in the house change into Beach, Disco, Western, Costume, Toga, etc! Totally awesome! This game is a must have for sim fanatics!!!
The #1 computer game in my book

This is the absolute BEST game I have ever played. The parties are so cool! :) If you are a person who likes to party, and who likes real-life simulations, this is your game!

When I added this to my Sim game which already had Livin Large on it, I had a blast. You can throw a huge party and there is just about everything for it.
First, you can set up a dance floor and DJ stand surrounded by dance cages next to a bar. Then hire a caterer and set up anything fun for your sims and you have a little party going. Add even more and you may even have Drew Cary show up on your Sims game. (I'm not kidding. Drew Cary will arrive in a limo if your party is a hit).
I think this game is great and I give it a well-deserved 5 stars.
Good but not Great

It's an expansion pack I wouldn't skip, but then again I won't skip any expansion pack. Only a few more items, flooring, clothes, and that's about it. I'd get it, if only for the cake dancers, new party furniture, haunted house set and western set. It's... pretty good.
Nice objects, but doesn't stack up to other expansions.

These objects are really fun, but I definately prefer Livin' Large and Hot Date to House Party. If you really want these objects, I would suggest downloading variations from the net.
Alright but not much different than Livin' Large

Well it was alright but there really isn't that much different that livin' large. You can have a 'House Party' with all you friends but this expansion just wasnt as great as I thought it would be. If you have to choose between livin' large or this game, I would choose livin' large.
Horrible

It looked so cool, but when I got it, I was queit dissapointed! the sims got home at 1, and it takes up lots of memory. I have it intsalled, but I don't throw parties. it is a stupid expansion pack. MARK MY WORDS! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON IT! What Maxis needs is new jobs!
Boring.

Just like everyone in the gaming world, I squandered away my money to buy the fables Sims. Fun, Joy, and ... then the hype slowed down. More games like it came out. The whole thing wasn't as entertaining. I couldn't even get Superman to fall in love with the lady in the sexy blue dress (you all know how frustrating that is). Then I went and bought Living Large. I thought it would bring completely new concepts to the game. And that it did. I loved the genie and robot and all the new themes. But of course, I only played or a few weeks until it got boring. The problem is, some games are meant to be played for years and years (Diablo, Diablo II) and make you enjoy them while doing it. This isn't one of them. Finally, I got House Party as a gift. And surprised with the bug, non-compatability with Windows ME (which I detest, read my review), and nothing added to the game. Um, the only thing that was interesting was watching my Old Man River dancing and swinging in the Dance thingee. But after three minutes, with no added NPC's, barely enough themes, and no interesting objects. I gave up. I didn't even finish my #1 House Party house before I turned it off. Throwing the CD and case into my never-to-play again games.
COOL GAME

This is a really fun game. It is a whole lot better han Sims Liv'n Large Expansion pack and The Sims put together. You get so many new items. But if you sit there and play it a lot it can get boaring. It's a great game. If you like The Sims a lot you will like it better with The Sims House Party Expansion Pack
