Roller coster tycoon is an awesome game. But this expansion pack adds nothing to it.
How to ruin an already great game

Rollercoaster Tycoon was a good game except for the fact that they kept requiring the gamer to meet a stupid goal, instead of just designing a park to what they saw would fit the landscape. It could be enviromentally safe or not. Also they needed to allow design and testing and installing of new rides during the winter closing (Oct-Mar). Now with the Corkscrew Follies expansion pack they have gotten even worse by devalueing the park each month so you always have to keep building up the park to keep from letting they value of the park diminish. Haven't the designers of this game expansion heard of land value, or inflation, or even increased value of used rides, that can actually be sold for more than you originally paid for them. But formost on the list on how not to ruin what should be a fun game is forget the idea that there has to be some goal to shoot for and let the gamer JUST HAVE FUN! .

I found that the expansion pack was not worth the money that I paid for it. It gives you new stuff, but unlike the original, it doesn't stay fun for as long. Please do not use this for the original. RCT #1 is wonderful.

This game is honestly a good try but it sort of falls short. The rides are rather mediocre and even the new coasters aren't all that new or exciting. And this one came first. Three months later Loopy Landscapes was released and included this pack. If you bought this originally, before Loopy, than you'll be mad but they don't sell this by itself readily now. Your more likely to find The Loopy/Follies pack. Anyway.
The game plays just like the original RCT 1. This is the first expansion and takes a good stab, but really dosen't do exactly the best. The landscaping still looks blocky to me. The scenery is limited. I think the mechanics are very unnerving because they may be right outside of the ride they need to fix and they get called for it, wander the park aimlessely for about twenty minutes than finally return.
There's also a few new Gentle & Thrill rides, nothing to be excited over. Circus Show, etc.
I must admit that this is a good try. Probably worth a buy with the better Loopy.
Donýt install this until youýre done with the original

I made the mistake of installing this before I was finished with the original Roller Coaster Tycoon, and it replaced all the old scenarios with the Cork Screw Follies scenarios. I could not find a way to go back and play the old scenarios, so I had to start with these. That alone really upset me. I thought there might be new coasters and things to research for my existing scenarios, like other software companies did in their add-ons. Also, there's still no option to create your own open ended scenario.
Aside from eating my old games, Corkscrew Follies isn't bad. It's nice to have new scenarios and things to do, and the game play didn't differ from the original. the graphics are still like the first, a little cartoony but still fairly good.
Overall this isn't a bad add-on, but I was sorely disappointed when it took away the original scenarios.
Great game but...

This game wus really awesome in a way and really disapointing in a way. I loved it because it wus so addicting and it had music, abstract hypertrain carts and real parks. But one day i wus playing and it just crashed. i tried running it again and it said acception raised, access violation, gsk, or something. and on the origional it would not let me load saved games. i wus mad because all these bugs were messing it up. i had used a trg trainer(cheats) when i wus getting extra money in it and it crashed and started messing up and wouldnt quit. now i am searching into this right now.just way to many bugs...
it's gettin better!!!

there are a bunch of new add ons, and scenarios including the same form the older ones. U can also load older games into this one. I suggest getting loopy landscapes though. It has levels form the first one, this one, and new ones. There are even 3 (real parks) in which u can get up to 105 thousand dollars!!!!! U can also get things like exotic sea food shop, coffe, t-shirt, souveiner, and hat stalls!!!!! u should definetley get this than any sim theme park games or the first roller coaster tycoon Anyways i suggest gettin loopy lanscapes if u can
It's like a whole other game

This expansion is more than an addition to the original Rollercoaster Tycoon game, it's like a whole other game. Besides the original features (see my review for RCT) this game includes 25 new scenarios, new roller coaster types, new attractions (rides, ride enhancements, stalls, and shops), new colors and painting techniques, new landscaping items, new landscaping themes, more entertainers, and more.
That may seem like a lot of new things, but it's less than it seems. That's why I gave it four stars. Another game: almost all of those things have to be earned in one way or another. Like you have to get the rest of the scenarios by starting with the first five new ones (like the original game), and you have to research the attractions, themes, entertainers, etc.
Another cool feature is that you can have almost all the rides play music. There are a lot of them too (like rock, techno, gentlle, horror...) and it really adds a lot of life to the park, to you and your guests. As a whole (the RCT and the expansion) this game is a sure winner. But Corkscrew Follies alone is not the best or the biggest expansion for RCT, but it's sure worth a hard-earned twenty bucks.
