A pleasing expansion for a great game

For benefit of the doubt, I gave Corkscrew Follies 4 stars, because 3 was too low and there is no 3.5. Yes, Corkscrew Follies is a decent and pleasing expansion to Roller Coaster Tycoon and offers many new scenarios and editing capabilities to the original, but it seemed slightly rushed and there were many obvious additions that should have been made but were not. Let's hope they end up in the second expansion slated for the summer of 2000.

There are a few more Roller Coasters, and Gentle Rides, and a Great expansion of the shops and stalls one can build. However, I was a bit let down with the minimal amount of Thrill Rides. Also, though Scenery was expanded and what was added is beautiful, it could have gone much, much further.

A real nice addition is the ride 'foot-printing' and the sound files for specific rides, and the expanded color options. The detail on sprites and new graphics is incredible.

Now the scenarios...Yes, unlike many expansion this does very well in delivering MANY more scenarios that will keep you posted to your screen for hours on end, you definitely get your moneys worth here. However, where as the original scenarios were a tad easy, the expansion scenarios are a bit hard at times. You are so rushed on meeting requirements at times, you don't have the time to truly design the ride you wanted to make, but rather forced to using the pre-built coasters in any available space you can find. This detracts from the main function of the game...the chance to build and experiment your own steel monsters.

If your an addict of the original game Roller Coaster Tycoon as I was, you will want this expansion pack. However, don't waste your money to acquire this add-on, purchase the latest add-on Loopy Landscapes, as this game is included. No sense in paying for this game twice as I did.

Addictive, but best game ever made.

This product is definitely worth getting if you have played the original and know how to play. The new scenarios are much harder than the original scenarios, but after playing for a while, you will learn how to build a successful park. And after you install the expansion pack, if you install it correctly, all of the old scenarios are still available to you. Plus it fixes bugs in the original. Buy this and you won't be sorry.

This game is just as much fun as Rollercoster Tycoon with extra stuff in it.If you don't buy this game with its other you are missing out on some of the most fun you can have.Just think you can be the ride maker and be the cause of people looseing their lunch from riding your ride.If I had a top ten list this one would be on it.

Great Add On, Tantalizes the Anticipation for a Sequel!

This is a great add on, and please note that it is an add on. You must have the original Roller Coaster Tycoon to play this! This gives you more ride types, more scenarios, more everything! Be forewarned, as in the first game, this addition is extremely addicting! Starting with an already started park is a good way to get money quick, (you have to destroy everything, or as much as you deem necessary, and pocket the refund). This way you can almost start from scratch but with more money. Again, many of the rides you make won't work right the first time (unless you have an engineering degree)but you'll get the hang of it. And once you do you won't want to stop! If you have Roller Coaster Tycoon and are looking for a way to make a great game even better don't hesitate to purchase this expansion pack. It's cheap, it's fun, just make sure you start playing when you don't have to go to work the next day!

Wow! When my friend got the first one we couldn't stop playing it! It was so great. When I heard that the new one had come out I wanted it. I got it for Xmas and I can't stop playing it. I showed it to my brother-in-law and he got addicted too. Putting different music is great and the new entertainer was a surprise. The option of giving people their own names was deffinately cool. The graphics are great and the cartoon people are neat. Building the rides and watching the people ride them is really cool. I like how you can change the color of just about everything, and the new themes are great. This is a must have! You can buy land. this is a great product! If you have the first one you must have this!

Good, but not Great

After playing the original for 6 months, I was hoping for a bit more flexability and freedom in designing the park grounds. The designers did pack it with more visuals and rides, but what I would like to see if a new (hopefully) add-on pack comes out, is the ability to design a park from the ground up. Literally. Where is the ultimate scenario? A huge plot of land to manipulate, access to every ride and themeing there is, and a big bank roll to get you off to designing the ultimate park. Buy this one, but lets hope Chris Sawyer gives us more.

Worth the small price tag, but its not a major step up

This expansion pack is definitely a great item to add to your rollercoaster tycoon game. Just remember that this expansion has nothing truly major in it like graphic or sound enhancements. This is simply more scenarios, rides, and a few other tweaks. I recommend buying this, but do not be dissapointed if you were expecting a full blown game expansion.

Eureka! Cool new stuff for my favorite game! There are funny new rides, including some historical rides, new themes and scenery elements, a few minor functional improvements (Including the option to build on-way paths, I've been wanting this so bad!) and - most important - lots of new scenarios! This is not really revolutionary new stuff but a well-designed expansion pack that gives you more of the same and then some. The only thing that's missing is a scenario editor.
If you are a Roller Coaster Tycoon addict, this thing is more important than your Social Security Number! If you play RCT only occasionally, then this is still by far not the worst way to get rid of your hard earned bucks. At this price it's a steal anyway.

BTW, this is an add-on, you need to have the full version (but then who hasn't)...
Now, what are you waiting for now, buy this!

Great expansion to RTC

As I said once before, the best game ever. Still addicting, and hours of fun. I like more choises of coasters, rides, and other things as well. I still think the next RTC should be designed so you can ride you rides. I still love this game. Get it if you have the Orginal RTC. I promise you'll love it.
