Im a huge dbz fan and all but this game really dissapointed me.

1) Ok, what in the world is up with those graphics?? This game makes the first mortal kombat game look like a dream come true.

2) I DONT THINK ANYONE HEAR UNDERSTANDS JAPANESE!!!!! My gosh, this game isnt fully translated. The people talk in Japanese.

3) The characters voices sound REALLY stupid.(goku sounds like a kid)
DONT BUY THIS GAME!!!!!!

This game came out a long time ago, but in a Japanese format. Five new characters come out if your man stay undefeated. There is a code that you can enter when the main title shows after the introduction--which, I may add, is the BEST introduction a game could ever have, the music and all--and then, that's when the game changes its title to "Ultimate Battle 27." There is a tournament mode, and you can challenge with a bunch of your friends, not like "Budokai" when only one character can be played.

This game is a decent game if you like the older style fighting games like Mortal Kombat II. The thing that really hurts this game is the control, Its very bad. The graphics however are very decent. Other things that I would have liked to see would have been a few bugs fixed with the names. The character Gogeta is called Vegetto and it is wrong. If ya wana waste your money on this game for just to collect it. Go ahead. The front cover has exellent grfx's. But Id suggest that you dont waste your money on this game unless your a true DBZ fan or a person who likes the old style of fighting

Ultimate Battle 22

DBZ UB22 isn't the best fighting game out there. If you want a nice, hardcore fighter, one could try out for the classic Street Fighter games and DBZ Budokai, but if you aren't in the next-gen time or just want to have major fun, test UB22 out.
First of all, this game is as fun as Gundam Battle Assault 2, as well as addictive. The background graphics are a bit old school, but the graphics on the fighters are amazing. The moves are tough to perform but are worthwhile to dish out.
The gameplay is a little slow, but not bad. The controls are easy to get used to and are very unique (R1 and L1 are used to run/dash forward and backward, square is punch, x is kick, and o is energy blasts). Also, a little planning and strategy is needed. Strength in this game is needed to use energy attacks, block energy attacks, and keep yourself stable (if you use all of your strength, your character gets a little dizzy).
All in all, this is a great game to me and one should play it and decide for themselves how it is. In opinion, this game earned a 5 out of 4.

I tried this game because I really like DBZ but nearly everything about it is dodgy. The graphics are 2D like some gameboy game. The sound is terrible. You're in the middle of a fight and its playing all this soft touchy harmonal music. The voices are like a 3 year old girl screaming. The commentator for the world tournaments speaks in Japanese and when you select your character half of the names are wrong.
Supreme Kai: Kaioshin
Tien: Tenshin etc.
Even in 2 player mode it is a bit dodgy because the combos take too long to do so your opponent can just bash you to death.

This is a very good dragonballz game. Dragonball z ultimate battle 22 has good graphics and a lot of characters to choose from. This game is a game i recomend to those who want a good PS1 game. Hope you like it.

i got this game for easter and its the best dbz game i ever played. there are 5 game features- 1p vs. comp, 1p vs. 2p, tournament, build up and build up battle. There are 22 fighters (hence the title: Ultimate Battle 22). Some include goku, vegeta, majin buu, super buu, trunks, gotenks, supreme kai, and more. there are 5 unlockable characters- gogeta(called vegeto in this game for some reason), kid goku, master roshi, ss3 goku, and mr. satan. the graphics are ok- the characters are 2d cel-animated (meaning they are the original artist's drawings) and the backgrounds are 3d environments from the show, like cells arena, old namek, kami's lookout, and the world tournament arena. The fighting backgrounds are the only bad thing about the graphics (they look very stretched out). the sound is great. Infogrames kept the original japanese music AND character voices. they even kept the world tournament announcer's japanese voice when you play in tournament mode! many people say not to get this game, but i say- GET THIS GAME!!! Kamehame-HAAA!!!

Let me put this straight, THIS GAME ROCKS! This game has great 2D graphics and has fun gameplay it may take a while to get an idea for the controls other than that it's great

The reasons I bought this game is because they got a lot of characters to choose from and it's DB. But I got bored after I beat the build up mode. It didn't have story mode like other DB games and the worst is it is slow. It load a long time and there's no restarting or quiting during a battle, which you have to finish it first. But you'll get use to it.

HI I Am A Fan of DBZ(DragonballZ) and this is a great American game because of the games it has all characters and sagas including Cell,Majin Buu,and others.It's graphics are not all great but still it's good.There all isn't all too many cons and greats.It is all balanced and this has been all.
