THIS IS THE COOLEST GAME EVER! Nothing is better than strategy games, but this is the best of the best! I love it when you have huge squadrons of fighters fighting each other or when hugeass capital ships get into a huge battle. It just looks so cool! and the controls are simple enough to do whatever you want without much hassle and the ships are really cool in design. My only complaint is that both sides are exactly the same in strengths and weaknesses, and there never seem to be enough resources in each single player map, but the game is DA BOMB in multiplayer, and thats where it counts!
Homeworld is the best!

This game ranks number one on my list of favorite computer games. The single player campain is so cool! One of the funest missions was number eight, Cathedral of Cadesh. All in all, with all the different ships, Homeworld is definetly a milestone in PC games.
The best game Since Pax Imperia: Entiment Domain

PROS:
1) Great single player storyline and plot with good cinimatics in between missions.
2) Most missions are well thought out and unpredictable
3) Optional Great graphics on powerful computers, optional great performance on slower computers
4) Included multiplayer system works well and is free. Usually not to busy but there are always at least 20 people on. Usually over 50!!
5) Build many kinds of ships, each having their own strenths and abilities.
6) 3D enviorment is well designed and easy to manuver through.
7) Use different formations, attack setting, grouping, etc. to make the most out of your attacks.
8) Good sound effects and music
CONS:
1) Harvesting system isn't the best ever, but works well on a good map
2) Included map editor unreliable and hard to use
3) focusing to close on a battle causes incredible lag, esspecially durring internet gameplay.
4) The 2 different races almost exactly alike
5) GRAVITY WELL GENERATORS PISS ME OFF (You'll know what I'm talking about when you start playing this game online!) :)
6) More ships would be nice :)
5+!

Spectacular! This is easily one of the best games I have ever played! The graphics are wonderful, and the ease of scrolling and views you can take are second to none! Some RTS games such as Far Gate, Star Trek Space Armada and Empire Earth slow up to be impossible to play when you have a lot of units in play, but with Homeworld this is not a problem. Game creaters could learn a lot from this!
A great feature is the amount of space warfare you get to do. I love that! As I was going through the game I started to feel a bit as though the missions were a little too easy, as I was using the same strategy for aboutt hree of them with success, but I realised that I has spoken too soon! I am right on the last part of the game now and I am finding it impossible to beat. I can't believe that after only just managing to beat one wave of ships, another one appears immediately with the same fire power.
I haven't had any problems with the inteface. I find its complexity adds to the realism of the game.
Excellent at first...

I was so excited about this game that I played it for 15 hours straight... and completede it. The game is great and tons of fun, but it's just to easy. The enemy AI is too predictable, and it's all too easy to win the battles. But if you want the greatst grafics ever on a PC, buy this game.
Great game and also the Hardest!

When I got this game, I was really excited about it. First, I started and it was fairly straight-forward after the great tutorial. When I started the single player game, I was very suprised by the tremendous and very in-depth story line. The graphics are great and the weapons and ships are huge and have very detailed structures.
The only draw back, at least for me, is the game is really, really hard! I could never build enough ships and collect enough resources to beat every enemy fleet. In my first shot at it, I only got to level 5. I tried it again using the other race and I got to level 7 when I ran out of resources. Other than that, which might be just a flaw in my strategy, Homeworld is one of the best real-time sims I have ever played.
One of the best games I've played... ever

Although I am only a teenager :-). Anyway, probably the mostattractive feature of this game is its 3D map. The fully threedimensional terrain is amazing, and adds a whole new level (dimension :-Þ) of strategy. This new paradigm may frighten some people away, but, honestly, it's very easy to learn (hell, even I learned it). Basically, whatever interfacing problems came up, Relic fixed them. If you doubt, go get the demo. You can play the wonderful tutorial (It's quite amazing; I played it twice :-), and it taught a very inept friend of mine to beat down a couple of corvettes), or go h2h against the computer.
Of course, the game isn't all peachy. Underneath the amazing gameplay and breathtaking graphics is... aw, hell, there's nothing wrong under there :-). The only complaint I have is that the game is too bloody short. Fortunately, they're coming out with Homeworld: Cataclysm, which looks to be even more astounding.
You know, it's really hard to write a review about a near-perfect game.

This is an incredible game which I recommened everyone to buy, the only drawback is the amount of time the game is going to cut into your personal life.
Nothing short of amazing!

I've been waiting on a game like this for years. In a nutshell, what you've got here is a chance to re-create your own Battle of Endor. The single player campaign (only 16 missions) could have been longer, but the multi-player portion of the game is astounding. I have had battles with over 200-300 fighters buzzing around and dozens of capitol ships blasting away at each other.
BELIEVE THE HYPE! The graphics are incredible and the computer AI is better than most games in this genre. The only thing that would make this game better is if someone would find a way to merge it and Master of Orion II into one game.
Awesome

Revolutionary game, this is one you will remember in 10 years. Graphics are superb, and sound is excellent. Cockpit chatter reminds me of Falcon 3.0. Any fan of RTS should play this game. Only fault was that I am NOT an RTS man and would have preferred more emphais on strategy (I.e. Master of Orion) with battles conducted using the incredible game engine.
