My 9 year old son says this game is boring. "All you do is find something, press A, find something, Press A. That's all you do."
Playing cards is confusing, but not always difficult.

The controls in this game are confusing, because you can't tell what the messages or options mean. However, if you want to play this kind of game, I recommend reading the instruction manual daily. Why? Because the rules are completely forgettable. Otherwise, this game may not be worth playing, unless you have a partner to help you play it.
My child hated it

Pokemon the cardgame is a dull game based on a hyperactive cartoon and obnoxious fad. I reluctantly purchased it for my young boy and he didn't care for it. Kids will want it because it is Pokemon and they gotta have them all. Parents will cringe when they must purchase it, knowing that it will sit under a bed after the craze goes.
Cool! Fun! But if only my friends had thisý

I must admit, this game helped me understand how to play the real life game alot! It's so much fun. It also really helped me with my deck building skills. The new Eevee-lution cards are great! You can use any energy you want on them! BTW, the only downsides, to me, were the fact that Jungle Ditto and Base Set 1 Electrode were left out. Supposedly, their Pokémon Powers were too complex for a computer. (Ditto had transform, which made him whatever the defending Pokémon was if Ditto was the active Pokémon. Electrode's Buzzap KO'ed him and allowed you to attach him to another Pokémon as a double energy of any type!) The replacements for them ****!
Fun, challenging, and excellent

This game is Awesome! ... I could not have seen a better game. I beat it in over 40:00, but it was worth it. There is just 1 thing missing from the Pokemon Red and Yellow Versions. You don't name your rival. Ronald is an ok name, but when he wants to duel, he acts like a pain.
This game was OK...........

When I first got this game, I was really excited. I loved the other Pokemon games and figured this would be just as good. Frankly, I was dissappointed. This game is a good imitation of the real card game, and it is much easier (and cheaper) to become a Pokemon card master, but it doesn't live up to the potential of the other Pokemon games. The gameplay was entirely too short. Once you beat all the Club Leaders and the Challenge Hall, the game is basically over. There is no replay value in the game. Here is my summary of the pros and cons of the game:
PROS:
*Exciting and Easy
*Cheaper than the Real Card Game
*New Cards and Rules
*Card Pop!
CONS:
*Too Easy
*Too Short
*No Replay Value
*Not as Fun as the Actual Card Game
*Not a worthy Pokemon Game
To sum this up very quickly, this game is fun for about 10 hours of playing time. After that, you'll wish you hadn't wasted your money.
pokemon trading cards at its best!

The best game for gameboy and a game that all my friends want. My advice is for every poke mania person to buy this brilliant game, which is a realistic version of the pokemon trading card game, and like the real pokemon game, you earn badges and use them to get or do something special. And alsoalike the red and blue version, a challenge cup, alike the pokemon leage.BUY THIS GAME IF YOU LIKE POKEMON!

Cool and easy. Too bad i lost it 2 months ago but i think it is the best game on gameboy. easy and fun, unlike the red/blue/yellow/green versions. I wished it was on n64 instead so i won't loose it. waste your money on this instead of real cards is better. i like it anyways.
I can't believe nintendo is giving us this junk!

Okay, the card game's a rip, so why waste [the money] to buy a computerized version that "trains" you to play the game. If your a parent, just buy your kids the cardboard kind, if they absolutely need it, because it will only interest them for a small amount of time, before they move on to more interesting things. My advice: Skip it all together. As if the card game wasn't bad enough, nintendo gives us this crud. Trust me, I know from experience, pokemon cards are great dust collectors, and this game is no different.

This is one of the worst Pokemon games ever! At the beginning I thought it was going to be really kool, but the only good thing was that I got a free Holo Promo Meowth Card. The game gets really boring after a while, and is really lame. Only get this game if ur on a quest to collect all the Pokemon games, like me.
