High Heat 2002 is not worth the money

The most anticipated game from the company that brought us High Heat 2001 --what many consider the best baseball simulation if not the best sports game ever-- is a dud! High Heat 2002 is not worth the ... asking price, it isn't even worth ... and here are the reasons: *Graphics compatability -- Last years version was fully compatable with many laptops. The requirements that 3DO says the game needs are met by my laptop. Even Triple Play 2002 works on my laptop. High Heat does not and it wasn't designed to work, even though tech support said it should. *Graphics Overall -- The players look like guerillas! Who ever designed the models apperently has never seen a human being, let alone knows what one looks like when swinging a bat, throwing a ball or running. I have a top of the line 3D accelerator on my desk top, but even that does not help. The players' helmets are so bright, they look like night lights and the bats look like lightsabers. I keep expecting Obi-wan and Darth Maul to come jumping out of the dugout for a turn at bat. Plus fan animation would have been nice, but it doesn't exist. *Added features --rain outs, 40 man roster in September, nice but to sacrice the look of the game. No *In general it seems while they were tweaking the engine, the plain and simple truth is they ruined a great game. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. It really is no better than Triple Play 2002, which isn't great in and of itself. Bottom line save your money or buy NHL 2001 and play that all summer like I plan to.

I just bought High Heat Baseball for my PC. With baited breath I waited for this game. It was going to be great, and why not, I have HHB 2001 and it was the best game I've ever played, so why shouldn't the newer version be just as good? Now I am stuck with this piece of junk. What a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. I have been trying to play season mode, everytime I play a game I get kicked back to my decktop. I have been unable to complete one fricking game. I get close to compleation and I get kicked back to my desktop. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. Save your money. This game sucks. Some of you may be thinking that it may be my computer, and so did I at first. But it is a new PC less the a few weeks old, so I don't think that it is my PC. Again I state DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. I'M BEGGING YOU KEEP YOUR MONEY.

This game is one of the worst baseball games I have played. I play EA games which are much better. Even though this game has great options, the timing and video is terrible, it is not compatible with a Geforce2 GTS. I needs a patch for it, which is not out. The tech support is also terrible, you send a message and you could wait for years. DON'T BUY IT!!!! Get Triple Play!

THE BEST !!!!!

The absolute best baseball ever - period!!! Better than the 2001 edition, and I did not think that possible. A classic. The gameplay, graphics, stadiums, simulation, etc... is totally realistic. A must buy! The premiere grand-cru of baseball games.

You guys did a great job! Love playing my PADRES in famous baseball parks around the nation. When the PADRES go on the road I go with them to the home parks everywhere.

Great game if you know how to keep your computer updated!

This game is really great. The main problems are not with the game, but with people that dont know how to keep their computer updated with current hardware drivers. The game seems to be buggy with GeForce video cards, but that's due more to Nvidia's flaky drivers. Nvidia puts out new ones every week it seems trying to squash the bugs. Also, this game is one of the first to use DirectX 8, so hardware makers are still playing catchup. With my Voodoo 3 3000 AGP video card and Soundblaster Live, not one problem.

Also, there are many 3rd party updates available for rosters, stadiums, utilities, and more that keep High Heat 2k2 the most updated baseball game ever! If you like baseball and the most realistic gameplay ever, welcome to the creme of the crop.

Greatest baseball game on the PC!

This game is the best the year has for 2002 versions. It is so realistic, I can't believe it. The rosters aren't the 2002 season, but nevertheless the game is spectacular for lots of reasons. The season is so realistic with the trades, lineups, starting pitching rotations, and the schedules, rosters and just about everything else. The only part of this game that isn't worth five stars is the player editor. You can make players as good or as bad as you want.
