Could improve, yet still by far the best

HH2002 is still the best game overall out there when it comes to baseball games. I still feel they can do a lot more with the GM functions. Things like salaries, draft pick trades, and even arbitration would drastically improve the already best baseball game out there. In multi-play seasons once you have assembled a loaded team, there is nothing to stop you from winning 6 or 7 straight World Series which we all know doesn't happen(I know the Yankees are great, but bear with me). I didn't notice a major difference between HH2k1 and HH2k2 overall(I'm sure there might be) but the playable game is much more realistic and fun than playing the usual BB games that look more like a company softball game with a HR every AB from a teams best hitter. Overall still the best, but I hope they make some GM improvements.

For what they changed, this should have been an add-on

First things first: This is a really solid baseball game. Like 2001, the pitcher/batter interface is unmatched. The graphics are beautiful, and the gameplay is wonderful.

So why, you ask, do I not give it 5 stars? Because 3D0 is beginning to fall to the place that many game publishers and manufacturers never want to go: complacentcy. Satisfied with the tremendously successful 2001 version, the 3DO team instead this time didn't change many aspects of the game. The graphics are better, the sound is better, but that is EXPECTED because sequels should be better due to the exponentially improving computers on the market.

A glaring absence is something many fans wanted to see: some sort of financial limitation on the rosters, so not only do you have to manage your team and minor leagues, but you will need to control the money they earn and stay within a certain limit. But alas, this feature is not here, so you can take the player editor and change every player on your team so they all hit 70 home runs and hit .450 all season long.

There are some bugs in the game, some very annoying bugs, but there are ways around them, and I anticipate them being squashed in a month or so when (inevitibly) the first patch will be released.

Make no mistake. This is a great game. But, it could have been a lot better.

I's a great game. Realistic game play. Download stadium files from the internet to get better realism in the stadiums. The bugs are easy to work out. My pentium II 400 with an ATI Rage pro video card run the game beautifully. No crashes!

This is a cool game. There are alot of unique batting stances the players have and the pitching windups are cool. There are two problems though. One is if you have your gameplay on rookie, you can score like 50 points per game. Where's Ichiro? Where's
Albert Pujols? That is the problem about some of the rosters not updated. This is still a really fun game. I would recomend it to baseball fans only.

I have played the High Heat series since it's inception and this is by far head and shoulders above the others. The music is awesome and the graphics are a huge improvement over HH2000. You can also customize EVERYTHING in this game to suit your playing preferences.

The only downside to this game is the person doing the color commentary is a little redundant, but this is a very minor complaint compared to the vast improvements in this game. I was addicted to playing HH2000, but this game goes beyond that!

A few glitches, but not bad

This game keeps getting better with this years version, as they have improved the graphics, added player arguments, player suspensions, and base coaches just to name a few. As far as the stats go, they are VERY realistic. The only downside i have found so far, is that the game does shut down sometimes which can be frustrating. On a side note, i also own the playstation 2 version, the PC version is better because of graphics and the lack of injuries and player suspensions on the playstation 2 version.

Full of Bugs

Probably the worst piece of gaming software we have ever purchased. There are so many bugs its completely frustrating to play. After following 3DO's recommendations for fixing the problems, the game won't load any more. (Our PC is a high end 700+mhz Dell with lots of resources and high end video card)

This is a major league strike out for 3DO.

This game is head and shoulders above the competition. I am a true baseball fan and this game had the most realistic game play I had ever seen. Baseball fans should really enjoy it.

I have read a lot of reviews of how the game doesnt run on computers, but that is because they are older computers. i run my game on and AMD athalon 1.2gig, 256 mb ddr ram, and an ATI radeon 64mb video card and it runs great. i know what your thinking, well that computer is really good. my friend runs the game fine on his 333mhz pentium, with 64 mb of memory, and an ATI 32mb all in wonder card. even a slower computer can run the game. as for gamplay, some of the best i have seen. i used to play triple play, i am a high heat fan by far now. the game is the closet thing i have seen to real baseball yet. the tv style presentation could be better, but all in all this game is definitley worth it.
