Fun and Challenging!!

If you want a game that will provide you with hours of entertainment, and isn't too easy, then you should definitely add this to your Gameboy game collection. You can play little matches against Nintendo characters, play fun little Mario games, or create a character and join a big tennis school where you can practice your game, and play your way to the top of the tournament. Even if you don't know anything about tennis, it doesn't matter because the game teaches you and makes it easy to learn. This game is a real challenge, because as you move up in the tournament, the opponents get more difficult. So it never gets boring because it's not way too easy. As you win things, you get more points to move you up another level, and then you can improve whatever you want about your character (speed, power, control, etc.) So then you can be better prepared for the more difficult players. This game is awesome, one you'll never get tired of and forget about, because there's always something fun to do with it. You won't regret getting this one!

Mario does it again!

WOW! When I play this game, I often cant stop. it has so much to do. You start out by picking a boy or girl, and then you get rankings determining how good you are. You can build your strength and speed and stuff by practicing with trainers, working with machienes that shoot out balls, or jsut by winning matches. There is so much to do in this game. It is much different then the n64 game. I think this one is better. Other than just playing, you can do mini-games, and also just play for fun. Link up with a friend 4 some fun. All in all, this is the best game ive ever played for game boy color.

Pretty Good Game...

This is a very cool game. It's fun and challenging. Although it wan't as good as the N64 version, what can you expect? Anyway, If you liked the N64 game, you should like this one as well. You do not get to play as Mario + friends except in an exibition, which kinda bummed me oout, yet still a nice game. :)

Even better than I expected!

This is a great game! One of the few GB Color titles that is worth the full price. I was concerned that the ball would be hard to follow on such a small screen, but no fear! It is remarkably easy to play, the controls are great, but it takes some getting used to if you are used to playing the 64 version. The play action and animation of the characters are both superb. One of the best titles for the GB to date! Buy it!

you found a fun game and cheap!

mario tennis is the funest game that you could ever played, it is the best game of tennis , its is cheap compared to mario tennis in the n64if you want to play this game buy it on game boy not in the n64,if you have mario tennis in the n64 and in game boy you can connect them, the best thing that is portable and its very fun if you have a child buy it to her or him in holidays, birthdays.

dont get me wrong this is a great game, but it took me 2 hours to beat it. ther is only 1 tournament when you make the varsity and then you play mario and then you win. it is also way too easy. i never lost a match. heck, i never came close! unless you have the N64 transfer pak dont get this game. (the n64 transfer pak gets you a lot more characters and stuff)

That's A Spicy Meat-a-Ball

This game is awesome!!!! I can't stop playing it!!! I love the academy idea (even though I play exhibition more) You can choose the skill level of your opponent in exhibition. The players get harder as you go on in the academy. And in addition to the academy playing and the exhibition games, there are still 5 mini-games that test your skills. And in the academy you have to go through junior class, senior class, and 1 varsity match then you go to the island open!!! ( And you might get a chance to play Mario!!) There is singles and doubles in both the exhibitions and academy play. You have so much to do in this game you'll have tons of fun. Anyways I love this game ( I bet you didn't figure that out yet, hehehe) and you will to if you get it. This game is definetly the best gameboy color game available so try it!!! I gaurantee you will love it almost as much as me!! C ya

Wat a great game!!!

Off the bat im gonna name the cons. The #1 con is FRUSTRATION!!! the game can get you really angry. The other is you can only get some of the hidden players only if u have an N64 and the transfer pak. Other than that this is a great game. You start off as a new boy or girl in the tennis academy and train and play games to move up from junior to senior to varsity. You may also play doubles with your partner. You play in the 'Island Open' which is a tornament, then go on to face the greatest player Mario. This is an rpg type of game which lets you explore the academy and talk to people. My recomendation is buy the game. It does get boring and tired which is why you cant play it 24/7.

Fun for a while but not really a realistic tennis game---

Mario tennis. While this is a very easy game to learn it is not especially realistic to an experienced tennis player. While i admit that mario tennis is fun for a while it is not anything like "Real" tennis. When I first get the game and went to play exhibition mode with "Mario and his Friends" i was disgusted find only: Luigi, Baby Mario and DK (Mario and Peach can be unlocked in Tour mode)and the play does not exacly blow you off your feet. It seems at first more like a big game of ping-pong than tennis.
The game becomes more fun when you enter "Mario Tour" though. You are invited to join the "Royal Tennis Academy" to train for your tennis. You start out in the junior class in both singles and doubles and have to work your way up to the senior class (done so by winning matches and beating the top ranked player in the class) and then to the varsity court and then to traveling team. I must point out that the play is extremely easy through the first three classes (the first time i played tour mode i didn't lose a game until the traveling team.)Then the fun begins. You go to the island open to compete, win the tournament and become top ranked at the academy. You are then invited to go challenge Mario "The Greatest Player Ever" (the over statement of the centuary) you beat him, beat the game. 3 hours tops and you've beaten the game and the fun of the game is gone. One good thing though is the people you play tour mode you can play in exhibition mode now.
My Biggest complaints are:
1. It is impossible to hit a winner from the baseline
2. It is impossible to miss (serves included)
3. Until you get your tour player to about level 50 you can't win a point without comming to net (because you cannot hit the ball hard enough from the baseline.)
I know that this is about as close to a "real tennis game" as you can get for gameboy color. but if you have a gameboy advance any one of the 4 tennis games for that is better than this.
The bottom line is if you're looking for something with mario charecters this is for you. But if you're looking for something real this is not.
My Huge reccomendation is that you go and check out "Tennis Masters Series" for the PC. It is really realistic and alot more competitive. You can check it out on amazon.com ...
