I loved all the games in the gabriel knight series, each one was suspensful with lots of great gameplay interactions. the only problem i had with blood of the sacred, blood of the damned was the unconcluded ending regarding gabriel and grace. i've been hoping for a 4th game for a closure about their relationship. I've always felt the couple should have been together from the start but this games ending left me most dissapointed. Hopefully there will be another gabriel knight game soon!

I gave up in chapter one. I was completely unable to do anything except eventually get Gabriel out of doors where I promply got turned around and lost. I never made it any further due to sheer frustration.
I loved the first 2 games. The first was cartoony but really interesting and logical. The second had a really swoony Gabriel,a great plot, beautiful scenery and camera work. The only problem there was the werewolf scene near the end. The game froze up every time I used the talisman and I could not finish.
Never the less, I looked forward to the 3rd part. I am not coordianated enough to be anything but dizzy in this format. However, I suspect that for those who can use the 3d format that they will love the game. Just not for us oldfashioned non-tech people.
At last after such a long wait

At last, after such a long wait, Gabriel Knight III is here. It is fun, and I hope the series continues, but Gabriel Knight I is still the best, for atmosphere, characterization, and narrative. Unless your system is the newest available, it is likely that you will have problems running GKIII. I had to borrow a new laptop, because the game kept crashing on my Gateway 2000. The potential of interactive narrative is only being hinted at, though the GK series does a good job of suggesting what can be done in the future. There are still too many silly puzzles that actually detract from the story line. Also, the new age, mystical melange of ideas and themes seems excessive juvenile. Why not give us an interactive Agatha Christie style mystery to solve? Nevertheless, this game was fun, and I'm glad I did wait, however impatiently, for it.
Jane Jensen does it again

I had high expectations going into GK3... and I was not disappointed. I'm a longtime adventure game fan, and it's been quite a while since I've played one of this calibre. I've always wanted the kind of total freedom and interactivity the 3-D engine provides. I hope Sierra is planning to use it again. Additionally, the storyline is first-rate and well plotted. Gabriel and Grace are very human characters, and the way they relate to each and develop was perhaps my favorite aspect of GK3. Also, quite a beautiful game. If you love a good story, do buy it.

This game is truly Amazing! Graphics, music, gameplay and the incredable story! Entertainment doesent get any better than this, believe me! Just as the two other games in the Gabriel Knight series, this game is in a class far above any other game! And what an incredable ending!
it is "OK"

After passing Gabriel Knight 1 and 2 long before this game came out I was very "into" the gk series, then the third installment came. I was expecting it to be like the first one, cartoonish and not very realistic, I was right. In my opinion, gabriel knight 2 is the best of the series only because the personalities of the characters stand out the most in the gabriel knight series. Gabriel knight 2 uses real actors whom gave a great performance, the use of 3d and going back to Tim Curry in GK3 was going down a step. Gk3 is basically Gk1 in polygonal format with a less interesting backset.
I was very dissapointed in the story of this game, in the end after I confirmed the whole story, i said "nice try". Nice try as in, 'nice try, but the story just doesn't work out'. One thing that makes the GK series good, is gabriel himself. He was protrayed well in this game, because they used Tim Curry as the voice, as they did in GK1. Another character you play in the game is Grace, very frusterating when it comes turn to play her, the game totally changes from fun and comical to extremely boring. In all fairness though, playing Grace is boring in all 3 games.
So to cut things short the only incentive to play thie game is for the 3d graphics, they are indeed nice eye candy. I recommend playing "The Longest Journey", or if you want a taste of the GK series, Gabriel Knight 2 is the way to go.
Wonderful Story with Great Graphics

I thoroughly enjoyed this game. It was more than a game it was experience. The plot was strong with many twists and turns you expect from a good mystery. GK3 has a very neat interface and is easy to move around in once you understand the controls. The only real complant I have is I wish there was better help on the different setup options for the graphics. The game is challenging but not impossible to finish with the help of the hint feature provided. If you enjoy a good mystery, have an open mind and enjoy playing adventure games as I do you will love this game.

I had seen this game sitting on the shelves of software stores for months. When the price finally lowered I decided to buy it. It was well worth my money. The game is absolutely stunning.
The first thing to note is the graphics. The textures aren't really that detailed, but that doesn't stop them from preforming. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. Playing the game makes me want to visit Rennes le Chateau for real.
The next good thing is the soundtrack. It is perfect. Every scene has a unique track. Sometimes I have the character just stand around doing nothing so I can enjoy the music.
Lastly the story is fabulous. It has some great supernatural influence, as well as classic detective work.
I take away one star because some of the puzzles can be ridiculously difficult expecially if you don't understand what you're supposed to be doing, but don't let that stop you. If you really need to you can always find a walkthru.
I love these series!

I did like this game! I did not find it boring at all. There should be more games like this where you can have all these dialogs with the characters and you can explore different places and pick up your clues. It really makes you feel like you are part of the game!
I didn't mind Tim Curry's voice. The only thing I was not too pleased was with the graphics. I'm not too fond of these new type of graphics that make all the faces look like rectangles or triangles. But the game is just great. Let's hope for a Gabriel Knight 4 to come soon!

I've found this game less fun than the GK2:the beast within. Graphics are OK, but I prefer movies, like the other one. The plot is quite interesting, and Grace is the perfect couple for Gabe. Enjoy it and let's hope Sierra and Jane Jensen continue this saga.
