Delta Force 2 has to be the WORST action game I have ever played. The game is terrible. The graphics are horrible, the enemy intelligence is not as great as everyone has made it out to be, and the overall gameplay is just frustrating. You can't get your teammates to do anything. And the graphics are so bad, that they make you sick. While there are interesting weapons to pick from, the gameplay is so bad, that it will turn your attention away from the things that are cool in the game, and point you in the direction of complete confusion and frustration. While the terrorists are "semi-smart", your teammates are dumb as rocks. Multi-player mode is probably even more frustrating. There may be neat places to hide and snipe from, but chances are, after you die, you are going to start out again in the worst place ever (as soon as you start... people are already firing at you!). In my opinion, multi-player mode would be better if everyone only lived once... and then a new game started. Sorry Delta Force fans... but the game is terrible. If you are looking for a good action game where your teammates actually respond to you, and the graphics are great, then take a look at Red Storm Entertainment's ROGUE SPEAR. I played Delta Force 2 to see if it was "better" than ROGUE SPEAR, because that is what I had heard. Now, I can't even figure out how they could even say that Delta Force 2 was better than ROGUE SPEAR. Delta Force 2 was really bad... it could have been done A LOT better.

When I bought Delta Force, I was immediately impressed. It's been a year now, and I'm still playing Delta Force. When I heard about Delta Force 2 I was like..I gotta get that game. When I actually got it though, it was like a nightmare come true. Delta Force 2 is the slowest game I've ever played. Here are the problems I've encountered within the first hour of "playing" Delta Force 2: -Computer Froze (5/6) -Game Froze (11/12) -Multiplayer is extremely slow -Lag is horrible -Single player enemies are mad stupid -The ghillie suit looks like underwear over clothes Honestly, Novalogic should have put alot more thought into this game. Alot of Delta Force people are saying DF2 shoulda been an addon for DF, and with that...I totally agree. DF2 has a dart gun...hmm I wonder how many people I can kill with a dart gun. Depending on your computer....Delta Force 2 can run very well, but like mine and the majority of us, it sucks. It literaly takes 2 minutes to join a multiplayer game, and after that, you hafta put up with 3 or 4 somtimes 5 second lag. Overall, DF2 is the worst game I've ever played. DO NOT get this game if you have anything to or less the the following: 56k Modem P2 333 64 RAM 40x Cd rom drive 10.4 Gigs This game hogs up tons of RAM. It's not worth it people.
Do not buy if you have a Voodoo 3 card!

Even with a Pentium3 800 and 160M RAM, the constant stuttering, crashes and overall poor graphics quality make this game extremely aggravating if you use a Voodoo 3 card. The nighttime missions are especially bad because the horrible night vision goggles make the problem a lot worse. The missions are much longer than in the first game, with no ability to save during the mission. The missions themselves are designed for arcade style action with very little practical stucture. Does anyone actually believe the real Delta force sends a single, poorly armed soldier with two or four completely incompetant teammates into highly sensitive battle situations against heavily armed enemy factions? I doubt it. I wish Novalogic would make a more realistic Delta force. This is the only shooter game series I've seen with an open environment and non-linear mission structure. It has the potential to be much better than it is. At least they improved the graphics and VD3 compatibility in the third one.
The best game I have ever played......NOT !

Get it through your head THIS GAME stinks First of all the graphics suck, boring gameplay(I usually like realistic military games), coudn't acess campaign, takes forever to install.I would give this game 0 stars. I just bought it about 1 hour ago played it for 15 min. and then got bored... Try the Unreal series , half life or rainbow 6
Stick to Rainbow Six, Soldier of Fortune, If you want good.

Really. This game is not that good. The graphic are choppy, the gameplay gets kind of boring after about thirteen minutes, and its about the same as Rainbow Six or even the original Delta Force. So, don't waste money on this. Spend it on Land Warrior, or Soldier of fortune. Not this.

Let me start by saying that I'm a loyal Delta Force (DF) player. I've played every one in the series so far. This is the only game in the series that I've regretted purchasing.
DF1 was a software-rendered game. It didn't rely on OpenGL (hardware) and other stuff like that. DF2, on the other hand, is the first OpenGL game in the series. It seems very dark and kind of slow. Maybe it works better on some video cards, but it didn't work that well on my TNT2.
I'd recommend getting Land Warrior (DF3), which also has hardware support, but none of the issue of DF2. Or, get one of the newer ones in the series. As of the time of this writing, Black Hawk Down (DF5) is what I'm currently playing (and the newest in the series).
Not worth it.

The FPS genre isn't in danger of have greatness redefined by DF2. The graphics and controls are decent, meaning that you can generally distinguish targets and terrain and the movement isn't difficult to master. The fundamentals of the game are sound in that the solo missions are satisfying, the campaigns follow the same theme as the solo's, but it's the multiplayer that is the biggest let down. Unfortunately there are cheat codes that find their way into the multi-play. So, for example, if you are playing flagball and someone is using speed-cheat, forget it, the game is over. And there is almost always at least one person cheating. Artillery support in King of the Hill is equally ruinous of any fun.
I definitely wish I had picked up another game. Once you get tired of the solo work, which is quick, the multiplay is so dissappointing that there is no long term value in the game. Wait for something better.
I think I just wasted some money

I bought this game at a fairly low price, and when I started playing, I was totally amazed - at the incredibly bad graphics.
The game featured a basic HUD with two annoyingly large bars, placed above and below it. That was the first thing I noticed. Next I saw that the terrain was sort of fuzzy, and my gun wasn't all that impressive either.
"OK...," I said to myself. "Why don't I try walking around and see if this gets any better?" So I did. Guess what? No gun sway! Every stinkin FPS game I've every seen had some sort of movement with the gun (Ok, maybe not Wolfenstein 3d, but still!).
So, anyway, I tried firing the gun - barely any recoil at all. I tried a pistol just to see if the hammer would pull back but it did not.
Anywayz terrible graphics = boring game. Enough said

The game was fun back in the day, but now-a-days novaworld doesnt give two @*#&s about their old games and just let them run wild; especially Delta Force 1, 2 and 3.
If you want to stay in the delta force series (fun) I'd suggest Black Hawk Down and/or Joint Operations - Typhoon Rising (basically Delta Force 5, but they changed the name).
Black Hawk Down is most similar to DF 1-3 and also has an expansion pack available called Team Sabre. Team Sabre opens up a whole new set of servers that are more focused on forest and urban playing and also unlocks 3 more guns (G36, psg-1 and G3). Lately BHD has been getting less and less Novaworld servers and there is talk stats will be shutting down completely before 2008.
Joint Operations is an extreme makeover of the Team Sabre expansion. The maps are HUGE and nearly everything was made from scratch. Updated graphics, gun models, human models, vehicle models, not to mention drivable boats, helicopters, trucks, buggies, etc.
If your mind is still set on the terrain type of Delta Force 1,2 or 3... Novalogic also came out with Delta Force X-treme. Its the exact same game almost except with updated graphics and drivable vehicles.
Hope this helps... because throwing away money sucks.
Disappointing

As a huge fan of the original Delta Force, I was eagerly awaiting the release of Delta Force 2. I must say that I was sadly disappointed. I expected some improvements over the original. Granted that you have new weapons and a little more functionality, the game falls far short of what I was expecting. This should of been an expansion pack to the original. I have shelved it after only playing it a hand full of times. My advice, borrow a friends copy and check it out before wasting $$ on a retail version.
