If you're expecting many suprises, improvements and additions in the Delta Force sequel then don't. The first disappointment is speed. I really enjoyed Delta Force mainly due to its fast and smooth frame rates. Version 2 can get painfully low frame rates especially when you point your scope to the action. I tried it on a 128MB PC with a TNT2 Ultra graphics card and although movement was smoother it still showed signs of slowing down in the action.
Graphics, sound, weapons and other gear are more or less the same. That is not say the game isn't good. If you liked to pass your time with Delta Force then version 2 will keep you busy as well. Just don't expect all the new features advertised to make any significant difference to the original. It's more like an expansion pack.
TERRIBLE

Delta Force 2 has to be the WORST action game I have ever played. The game is terrible. The graphics are horrible, the enemy intelligence is not as great as everyone has made it out to be, and the overall gameplay is just frustrating. You can't get your teammates to do anything. And the graphics are so bad, that they make you sick. While there are interesting weapons to pick from, the gameplay is so bad, that it will turn your attention away from the things that are cool in the game, and point you in the direction of complete confusion and frustration. While the terrorists are "semi-smart", your teammates are dumb as rocks. Multi-player mode is probably even more frustrating. There may be neat places to hide and snipe from, but chances are, after you die, you are going to start out again in the worst place ever (as soon as you start... people are already firing at you!). In my opinion, multi-player mode would be better if everyone only lived once... and then a new game started. Sorry Delta Force fans... but the game is terrible. If you are looking for a good action game where your teammates actually respond to you, and the graphics are great, then take a look at Red Storm Entertainment's ROGUE SPEAR. I played Delta Force 2 to see if it was "better" than ROGUE SPEAR, because that is what I had heard. Now, I can't even figure out how they could even say that Delta Force 2 was better than ROGUE SPEAR. Delta Force 2 was really bad... it could have been done A LOT better.
good,bad,stupid,idiotic,good,awsome?

Basicly there isn't a way to express DeltaForce2 because it has great graphics and sound, also very lush and big enviroments. But there is alot of slowdown and runs like crap right when the action is getting hot.If DF2 would have fixed those slowdown bugs(same goes for DeltaForce)then DeltaForce2 would have been an instant classic. If you have some spare money to waste for nothing, buy DeltaForce2 because truely I feel confident that Novalogic will come out with some patch(i dont see how NOVALOGIC wants 2 failiers) but if you really do have to spend your money wisely then go get Nocturne(if your comp can handle it,LOL!)or.....just get somthing that interests you!
A Cool Game

a cool but very easy game. it dosent offer any cool guns or anything like that but you'll just love it unless you don't have a good PC you'll have to have a 500mhz if it's gonna work properly but a good game.
Do not buy if you have a Voodoo 3 card!

Even with a Pentium3 800 and 160M RAM, the constant stuttering, crashes and overall poor graphics quality make this game extremely aggravating if you use a Voodoo 3 card. The nighttime missions are especially bad because the horrible night vision goggles make the problem a lot worse. The missions are much longer than in the first game, with no ability to save during the mission. The missions themselves are designed for arcade style action with very little practical stucture. Does anyone actually believe the real Delta force sends a single, poorly armed soldier with two or four completely incompetant teammates into highly sensitive battle situations against heavily armed enemy factions? I doubt it. I wish Novalogic would make a more realistic Delta force. This is the only shooter game series I've seen with an open environment and non-linear mission structure. It has the potential to be much better than it is. At least they improved the graphics and VD3 compatibility in the third one.
not very fun but awsome weapons!

I play a lot of first person shooters, and this isn't a very good game but it is ok. First I will tell you about the good things. The best thing on this game is the AI. For example if I accidently fired my gun you will hear yelling and shooting in the backround. One more good thing is the weapons, even though there aren't a lot they are awesome. The weapons avalibale are: M4 with shotgun, M4 with gernade launcher, Heckler and Koch MP5 sub machine gun, M249 Saw, M40a1 sniper rifle, Barret Light .50 sniper rifle, and 5.56 underwater assault rifle. As you can see these are some pretty cool weapons!! One more thing that makes this game grreaat is the multiplayer The bad things are the audio. For example i fire my asault rifle and 5 seconds later it makes the sound!! And this game takes forever to load!!
But over all, this game is ok
!!Awsome Game!!

This game is a great game to own because the graphics are great and the missions are great because I think there's 41 missions. Each mission you have to be on the look out for bad guys and hostages. The game hardly freezes-up and multiplayer is the best. Novalogic is the key to multiplayer. The arsenal of weapons is superb and shooting them are cool. When shooting with a sniper from a distance you have to cock your weapon up so the round can go up and come down on your enemy. If you buy the game and are a cheater and cheat in multiplayer, beware. Over all the game is awesome and I suggest who ever has the time to read this should diffenalty conseder buying it.

Delta 1 was an awesome game. This follow-up was okay, the graphics were average, but the missions were sooo easy. I beat the entire game in 3 or 4 days. The really frustrating thing was that i couldnt control my teammates. The commands are like something like "Cover fire" or "resume mission" which gives you no options at all. You have to singlehandedly beat the missions.
Could have been a contender.

I could essentially reiterate my review of the original "Delta Force" game, and it would apply with equal validity to "Delta Force 2." Yes, it's an enjoyable game, but none of the weaknesses of the first installment were remedied. The AI remains woefully inadequate, and seems even a little weaker than DF1, if that's possible. The play features which were unrealistic in DF1 remain so in DF2. Game play in general seems to be repetitive and routine, despite the attempts to set imaginative plots for each mission.
Still, the graphics have improved a bit, as have the types of available weapons. The sound effects are more realistic, including the distinctive sounds when each different weapon is fired. The feature of insertion by parachute has been added, which (as a former paratrooper) I find particularly enjoyable. The huge playable terrain areas remain a great strength, contributing to replayability and freedom of maneuver.
Nevertheless, this is just a superficial makeover of DF1, without any real substantive changes that impact gameplay. It's fun but it could have been so much more. Sadly, however, the opportunity was missed. Better luck with "DF: Land Warrior", which is the subject of my next review...
