Ok, Just let me say a few words about my background with MMORPG's ive played Everquest, Dark Age of Camelot, Anarchy Online, Motorcity online, and Earth & Beyond.
First, they had some strong points with the game like the skill based system other then the lvled base system such as Everquest, but it gets old real quick when you go up in skills not much changes other then the lvl of item that your skill deals with for an example if i had lvl 1 Beam Weapons skill then it went up to lvl 2 Beam Weapons skill it would only let you shoot the weapon a little farther then before its like that with everything else in the game.
Second, on their FAQs sheet it said casinos are going to be a part of the game, this is not true based on what you think a casino is i think of a casino as a place where you can play black jack, slots, etc and bet money. their idea of a casino is changing a lounge to a "up scale lounge" a lounge in this game is a place where piolts can go meet other pilots, most lounges have bars that you cant use and tables and chairs that you cant use and a job computer where you can get diffrent jobs and such. the casino is just like that but add non working slotmachines and casino sound waves so its basicly decorations called a casino.
Third, no real multiplayer ive been playing now for about 2 months including beta and ive grouped and fought space pirates with other captains about 2 times a week not alot.
Fourth, if you like PVP this is not the game for you they said in their FAQs sheet that they are not going to allow PVP in the game they would rather promote making friends with other captains. I think they should atleast have zones with PVP in it because it makes sense to have battles with other captains on the game.
Fith, I dont see the game lasting long after Star Wars Galaxies comming out January because it offers more then Earth and Beyond.
Conlusion, Earth and Beyond will keep busy searching the galaxy and making friends and having suped up star ships, I say buy it if your intrested in space and star ships but most likly it will let you down.

This game gets _incredibly_ boring after 2 months of playing it. It is full of bugs, the developers don't seem to care, and make promises they can't keep. Recently they've added more features that have simply introduced more bugs. This game is an unfinished product and frustrating to play, do not buy this game. I would suggest the upcoming Eve-Online instead if you are looking for a space RPG, it looks much more promising.
Great stuff!

Earth and Beyond offer some great choices and adventures for online gamers. The graphics are good and the choices many.
One of the best features I feel, is the fact that you always have attainable goals in front of you. Another is that you are constantly finding new friends to travel, trade, explore, converse or go into combat with. A great way to make online friends.
I would agree with one review here that travel does take a while to accomplish, escpecially at first. However, the time is drastically reduced as you earn new engine upgrades. There again goals that are reachable and enjoyable to accomplish.
Realistically, space travel would be much more time consumiing than the game could ever afford to portray. The only real complaint I would have is the time it takes to go through a gate or dock to a station. Too long for sure.
The choices of computer generated villians could be upgraded. Although when you run into a combat level 30 intelligent foe while you are at level 15 can really make you hone your escape skills. Having to be constantly aware of whats around you is great. You never know what foe, computer or real, is ready to pounce on you!
A new ship designer is available and new places to change your clothes and your ship design are available in the game. A good improvement for the ego driven players.
Get the strategy book for it. It has been a great help to me to be able to find the 1000s of items that are available and to speed up my attaining new skills.

Earth and Beyond is the ultimate in space travel and battle. Fly your own space craft, which actually can make you queazy if you play long enough. This is the most realistic space format ever and I have been waiting for 20 years for this game ever since playing Star Flight I & II by Electronic Art almost 15 years ago. Well worth the wait. I have been playing for 9 months (level 100) and there is no end in sight - thank goodness. Highly recommend. Baby Boomer in Texas.
In a word - "slow"

Far too slow of a game. The time necessary to travel place to place make for an amazingly slow experience. If you like the idea of just traveling around the 'computer universe' and exploring then this may be the game for you. The graphics are great and the visuals along the way are exceptional, but if your looking for action, you will find it, but boy do you have to look.
This game rocks!

Every thing about this game is great. I played the beta version and loved it. The graphics are great, the peole are helpful, and much more. Maybe its the whole, being able to creat your own spaceship from 3 different races and basicly..do wht u want. you can do anything from mining to battling space mosters to running trading runs. The spece you can play in is huge, its basicly 8(or around there) different galaxys which have different planets. you can land on some planets but most of the time theres a spaceport outside the planet.Movment is easy. as you and your ship gets better you can add more wepons on, your hull changes and more skills become avalible. This game is a great MORPG and almost never gets boring because there is so much to do. I stopped playing this game because of the price to play online, and that it took a while to get anything done. During the school year i have no time and i just couldnt fit this game in, but during the summer, this game rocks!
