Though it has yet to come out, it is the most anticipated expansion pack coming out. Asheron's Call (issued in 1999), was the turning point for many MMRPGS. Asheron's Call brings infinate entertainment, excitement, and awe with their great graphics, monthly update ( including new content for the players), allegiance systems, quests, and more. Dark Majesty, will add even more to it.
Dark Majesty brings the current players, as well as new-comers, Housing, new lands never before seen, new Quests, and updated graphics to make your 3D card work as hard as it can. This is a great buy and will be great once it arrives. For those of you interested? GET IT! BUT, beware! Once you enter Asheron's Call:Dark Majesty...you may be forever addicted...

AC is a few years old now, and thriving more than ever. This is not another bubble in the MMORPG market. AC is the real deal. It has been hugely praised by critics and is enjoyed by many hundreds of thousands of players worldwide. It has a much more flexible character creation system than its competitors. AC (and AC2) is still the ONLY game to get FREE monthly updates! Yes you don't need to buy a yearly expansion, you get a free game update every month for your $... (US). Enjoy new monsters, new wealth, new places to explore, new epic quests, EVERY month! This dynamic game features excellent monarchy and fellowship systems, allowing you to make friends easily. Should you prefer to play solo, there are no limits placed on you. AC's 3D graphics still look very nice, and are often updated. It is also possible to play without broadband internet or a 3D card(optionally). Turbine, the developer has a very open relationship with players, allowing your opinion to be heard. I have tried all the rest, I'm sticking with the BEST. AC is the BEST MMORPG to date!

I have been playing AC & then AC Dark Majesty for 4 years now. I am completely hooked and am ALWAYS in complete amazement on how the developers create this World of "Dereth". The development of the player creations, player levels and 'Growing' in every aspect of your character person as you gain experience (XP) points, creatures (their levels) the towns, the housing (I have my own Cottage with furniture and storage), the mysteries to unfold, the allegiance monarchy's, weapons and weapon developments, the magic schools, spells and levels, trading, chatting, etc etc!! Is by far the most amazing creation I have ever seen. My son who is 7 has literally 148 games and none compare to the complexity and intelligence that Microsoft/Turbine developers have created with AC Dark Majesty. I HIGHLY recommend it...be prepared to be hooked for life and make alot of new friends when you join AC DM. It's not for the simple minded player though...alot of adults play this because of it's sophistication and complexity. But if a kid wants to play then they can play also they just may need a little here and there help if under the age of about 13 or so.
GET THIS IT IS WORTH MORE THAN THIS PRICE !!

Asheron's Call is a PC based, on-line computer game in the Baldar's Gate/Dungeons & Dragons genre'. Characters move up in level based upon experience -- gaining increased abilities as they kill monsters or turn in certain items. There are also lots of weapons, magic items and armor you can gain or improve through questing and crafting. The complexity of the crafting and combat aspects of the game is interesting and complex enough to keep you engaged over a fairly long time.
The game has not been generally available via retail sale since around the December 2002 release of Asheron's Call 2. However, Asheron's Call remains popular -- still more popular than Asheron's Call 2 -- although not as popular as some of the larger on-line games such as Everquest. Games copies are available through Amazon.com & Ebay, but are not generally at the local computer game store, unless they carry discontinued or second-hand games. As with all multiplayer massive online realtime games (MMORG) Asheron's Call has its share of fan sites where you can follow discussions about different aspects of the game, read quest write ups, complain about what you would like to see changed or just socialize. The recent test by Turbine/MicroSoft of a new game server make many players hopeful that this on-line game will continue on for years to come.
There are seven server/worlds, all of which are identical except for the players that inhabit them. One of the worlds is dedicated strictly for player killers, those players that chose to be able kill or be killed other players. Most players stick to only one server since it takes time to advance your character through various levels.
Weapons and fighting abilities can be lumped into three categories, melee' such as sword, mace, axe; missile weapons such as bow, crossbow and hand thrown weapons; and magic, which is broken into 4 schools of magic, each of which is trained independently.
The ways in which you chose to create your character and the way in which you train different skills and apply the experience that you gain makes customization of your character a big part of the game. Recent changes to the game make the skills and attributes for your character much more changable and flexible.
Changes to the game are introduced each month. The monthly changes are eagerly awaited by most players. Many players run around the world after a new "patch", hoping to be one of the first to find a new monster or new quest.
Most players organize into monarchies that help each other with game information, and to help each other gain more powerful weapons, magic spells and armor. Many monarchies are also places to socialize as well.
I've enjoyed playing this game for over a year. Many have played the game for 3-4 years since it was first available for beta testing. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
Addicting and fun

I've been playing AC since shortly after beta on the original, and have been a hardcore fan ever since. This game has it all: fun quests, great people, and a huge variety of stuff to sm00sh! It's hard to get bored with this game. When you're not hanging out at the mansion or lifestone chatting with your friends or patron and other allegiance members, you're out killing the monsters of Dereth, attempting to reach the pinacle level of 126! Definitely worth playing, who knows you might even find a "spouse"! (Yes, you can even get married in AC!) Just don't forget to get a house! Or where else shall you live? ^_~
Best MMORPG ever.

ACDM is the expansion to the phenomenal game Asheron's Call. I have been playing this game for 3+ years now and I have yet to grow bored. There are so many things you can do in this game from ridding the isle of evil, cooking, fashion coordination and curstom tailoring to just sitting around chatting with old friends.
I have yet to find another game that could ever compare to AC. The player base is loyal and giving (with some bad apples tossed in for flavor) and the friendships made are everlasting :D

I had never played an online MMORPG before this one. Nor had I played ANY type of RPG at all. This game hooked me, and hasn't let go. It's much easier to learn to play than other games out there. And it's updated monthly with new content -- not just to stomp out bugs. The lore of the game is amazing, and unlike other games, you're not tied to a certain profession just because you are of a certain race. And the characters in the game are thankfully different than the usual "elf, orc, bard, halfing" menu. Since I started playing Asheron's Call, I've tried Dark Age of Camelot, Asheron's Call 2 (ugh), Star Wars Galaxies, and the Sims Online. (Also tried Second Life in open beta). None of these games has mesmerized me like Asheron's Call did. Look at the price -- it's inexpensive! Try the free month's subscription, and if you end up on the Thistledown server, say hello to Dierdre the Pain!
