This game is awesome in it's terribleness. It's so bad it's good. You will put friends in front of this game, innocent friends, and watch as the squirm in misery! You will be MST3K'ing this game from the first note until the final rapturous epilogue! The plot makes no sense, the battle system in insane, and the songs are the corniest, most bubble-gum filled psychosis you've ever heard.
You have not lived until you have played this game.

Rhapsody is one of the best RPG's I have played. The graphics are colorful, which gives off a nice feel. The songs are really cute, and are perfect for the game. But in my opinion the best thing about the game is its story. It has romance, comedy, drama, and adventure, almost everything a good story should have! It also includes alot of bonus features such as an orginal sound track to the game and a gallery where you can see tons of pictures, and hear all of the songs as the game moves on. The only thing that might upset some gamers is that the game is very easy, which to me, makes no difference. So if you are looking for a fun, new, original game, like nothing you have ever played before. Rhapsody is for you!
Awesome Game!

This game is very fun! The songs were also wonderful and the grapics were beuitful!! I love this game! But it's a little girlish. I wouldn't think that a boy would play this. It could have been a little more creative. If you guys like this game you would probably like...Legend of Mana, The Final Fantasy seris, Chrono Cross, & Threads of Fate.
I am enjoying this game!

Music, music, music! This game also has a fantasy, romance, love, challenge, friendship, a life lesson, hope, encouragement and expectation. While I am playing this game, I laughed so hard and I cried with tears several times. This game is definitely targeting girls, though. The story plots are carefully made and compared with the other games' too long, queer and confusing stories, this game story is a simple, yet unique, and funny and heart touching. I really like the new concept of putting musical animation scenes (Karaoke style words are appearing under the screen while the musical is on) during a game, and I realized that musicals are giving a same or better effect to the story than a mealy realistic 3D movie scenes. I like the new feature of the music gallery which you can sing a song (Karaoke style words are appearing under the screen). I do not forget to mention that the free musical CD comes with the game, and it became one of my favorite music collection. Bad side of this game is musical quality is not as high as a broadways or Disney animation. I also noticed that cave or dungeon scene are the same (just a slightly color changing) but I could easily guess that the game maker did this way to improve the game performance. If I can hope something more to this game is that the better musical quality and credits after the game. (By the way, someone said that the song "Someday" did not show in the game. Yes, it appears while you waited after the game title appears.)
A GREAT RPG FOR PLAYSTATION WHAT MORE CAN YOU SAY?????????

This game should encourge some girls that just because that special person you like doesnt know you care doesnt mean you cant show him. Well back to the game I will give this 100/A+! Everything about this game is good.I love the songs. Oh yah at the menu screen you get to look at pictures of the character(Cornet and her husband) there are also her friends, puppets, and enimes. Well I can't tell you everything you just have to play it to find out if you like it or not.;but for me I just cant get enough of it!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought that Rhapsody was one of, no wait, my favorite game in the world but i can't get it because i live in Canada and they only ship within the U.S. right now. Other than that, it constantly kept me interested in it and I hope that it would come back on the market so that i could buy it. LOL. I loved all of the pictures and graphics, no matter what some old guy says, i thought that they were good. The main reason that I like it is because of the story that goes along with it, i find it so romantic.
Left something out.

First of all, the game is very good. The graphics are good and it's pretty easy. I was able to beat this game in about two days. The character design is beautiful and the the songs are eargasmic (an orgasm, but for the ears). What dissapointed me was the fact that they DID NOT add Japanese Tracks to the soundtrack added to the game. They only left the Japanese tracks in the game, not the sound track. I would have given this game five stars if they did, but they just left the sound track in English.

Rhapsody is definitely one of the best RPG games I've played so far. This game has a romantic and touching storyline. Besides rescuing her prince, Cornet (the main character) also travels through the region to find out the secret of her mysterious mother. Also, the music in this game supports the feel and scenes of the game, making this game more touching. I rarely play the game with emotion, but because of the music, I played with joy and sadness throughout the game.

Most of the reviews I read said that this game is horrible and has no plot at all. I have no idea where that came from. Instead of a normal game, I find this game to be more of an RPG "vacation". It gives a nice break from summoning Guardian Forces, turning into Dragoons, and learning that your girl is the goddess Althena. The story begins with a girl named Cornet who can talk to puppets, who is having a dream where she is attacked by a monster, but then saved by a guy. She longs for nothing more than to find romance. One day, her grandfather (both her parents are dead) asks her to look for some money in the forest. She heads into the forest with her friend, a puppet named Kururu. In the forest, a minion of the witch Marjoly, named Myao, attacks Cornet with a dragon, but a prince saves her, just like in her dream. Cornet decides that she must meet him again, and tries lots of things to see him again. Thats about the way it works for the first part of the game, but when she finally gets to dance with him, Marjoly herself, who was angry that Myao was picked on, decides to punish the attacker herself. But because the prince is so hot, she falls in love with him. As it turns out, Marjoly is powerful, but retarded, and turns the prince to stone when she meant to charm him. Now, Cornet and Kururu embark on a quest to save the prince. The battle system is well planned. Cornet can take three puppets or monsters into battle with her. It plays out like most games, except the characters can move all around the battle field and their attacks have limited range. Cornet, plays differently from everybody else. She can play her magical horn (which her mother gave to her before she died) to raise her team's stats. Every time she does, her reward meter fills up a little. Depending on how many times she filled it up, she can unleash some of the most powerful (and funniest) attacks in the game, which include a blizzard of cakes, a bombardment of pancakes, and explosions of sugar candy. The only thing I hate about the battle system is that every time you aquire a new team member, they always start out at level 1, despite Cornet's level. Many people agree that the biggest flaw in the whole game is the dungeon layout. There are two types of dungeons: cave and ruins, which all look exactly alike. They just change the color of area and change where each passage leads. It's the worst dungeon layout I've ever seen. What this game offers that most RPGs don't, is three different levels of challenge to offer somthing for beginners to pros. I am especially impressed at the games art work. It's all hand drawn, from setings to characters. Most of the magic effects suck, though. There are no anime FMVs either. You've got sprites the whole game. But don't let this be a down side. Some rather nifty special effects were added, and the characters have tons of animations. There are also a variety of character portraits in the text boxes (like in Lunar, for example). Music? Let's see then... this games title is Rhapsody, right? The music is all well composed. It suits the mood well, although every town and dungeon has the same theme. So how did this game get it's name? It obviously has good music, but it's biggest musical feature is it's ten vocal songs. They move along very well, and are quite memorable. They range from beautiful (Let's go On, Thank You) to comical (Evil Queen) to up beat (Someday) and of course, romantic (Our World). What really buggs me is that three of the vocal songs are stupid, annoying diddys. Just make sure to watch out for Amphibian Paradise, Mountainmen's Song, and Amazing Pirates. Atlus made sure to satisfy hard core fans by giving the option to choose between either the english or japanese version of the songs when ever you choose. As a special bonus, there is a sing-along music gallery and art gallery for your pleasure. Both expand as the game progresses, and serve as a nice addition. The problem there, is that you can only listen to the songs in english in the music gallery, only allowing you to listen to the japanese songs during actual gameplay. Also, a special sound track CD is included in the game's package with vocal songs on the first half and background music on the second. Again, the songs are in english only. What kind of puzzles me is that I never actually heard the song Someday, or Amzing Pirates once during the game! One last thing, this is the only game that I actually cried in. It seems like most of the game is Cornet's rescue mission, and it dosen't really seem to have a villan (despite Marjoly). It gets into ancient machines that can destroy the world to a minimal extent, but that's. Toward the end, it just turns into an emotional ride, especially in the last scene, with the heartbreaking song, Thank You playing during the credits. Let's hope Atlus brings the next two games in the series to our side of the Pacific!
