Divine Divinity is a fun game. You start and soon your character is knee deep in quests. Have you ever washed dishes to
do a quest? It's a large game with a huge number of quests.
Larian supports the game on it's web forum. There are a lot
of walkthroughs because it's a huge game.
The graphics are beautiful, music has won an award, and the AI is
a slight challenge.
But whether you like easy or hard games, this one will work for you. Notice to Christians---has pentagrams otherwise clean.
I'm surprised it's not more talked about...

It's a good RPG and fun. I really like the graphics and music and there's tons of fun RPG like things to do. It's not just a Diablo clone. Trust me, if you're considering it...try it! It's really cheap used too. I got it for 10 including shipping. Shop around. Have fun
Too buggy to enjoy

I bought this game for 19.99, so I'm not so unhappy about the game as I might be. I loaded this game up on my laptop, which is far above the requirements for the game (1.6 GHz, 512 MB RAM). Independent of the graphical settings and with all the latest drivers and patches, the game crashes to desktop every 15-30 minutes without fail. I have yet to exit the game normally. Anything else about the game is unimportant if it doesn't work.
The part of the game that I did slog through by using the quicksave repeatedly was well done, but nothing new. The first few quests were interesting, but once I began delving into the catacombs it became monotonous in the extreme. Level after level of killing the same creatures with the one offensive magic spell I had and a knife (which was better than any of the axes, swords, or staves I found). Summoning magic doesn't appear helpful as whatever you summon will simply wonder off into the distance and do nothing.
In conclusion, if you can get it to work reliably, you will find nothing new from Diablo II.
Loads of fun!

This is an excellent game that isn't nearly getting the credit it deserves. I got high praise from the press, but apparently, the publisher lacks some marketing power. But don't let that (and the silly name) scare you away! If you like RPGs, you will not regret buying this one!
This game has often been called a "Diabolo clone", and I suppose that is true. And a good one at that. I have't quite completed this game yet (although I suspect I will shortly), and I therefore am not sure what is yet to come. But right away, the player finds lots of quests that aren't of the silly "FedEx quest" type. In other words: You are solving more sophisticated puzzles. This is NOT an adventure game, but still, the tasks the player performs have more gameplay depth than at most other role playing games.
The weapons are fun, and the spells are creative. Overall, this is a nice break after so many AD&D games.
Its....Okaaaaay

Maybe because I didnt really like Diablo that I found I couldnt get into this game. There are too many different quests that can get confusing, and a lot of it seems too be hack and slash. It does have some elements of Baldur's Gate in it, with character interaction, but your character fights solo, which limits fighting technique.
On the whole I found the game to be a Diablo 2 remake, so if you liked Diablo then you will like this game, but otherwise I would not suggest it.
Great system ruined by horrible dialogue & storyline

Divine Divinity is yet another example of a fun and solid gaming system spoiled by yet more juvenille, cliche fantasy. The plot, characters, dialogues, etc, are all very embarrassing, as are most of the voiceovers. It's a shame too, because I really wanted to like this game, and did for a couple of days. After that, the afforementioned problems become so bad you can't ignore them, unless you're the sort that likes goofy lightweight fantasy filled with every bad adolescent cliche, cornball elves, absurd dialogue, lame jokes, stupid quests, and hackneyed "save the world from the big evil bad guy" plots that were getting old 15 or 20 years ago. I think the visuals are beautiful but the characters and setting are just too stupid to swallow for someone who likes more mature fantasy. Say what you want about a game like Diablo II -- at least it had a lot of art, style, awesome voiceovers, and writing that was much more sophisticated than the usual kiddie crap found in most fantasy games.
All in all, Divine Divinity is yet another example of why programmers should stick to game engines and why good writers need to be hired to resurrect these dismal fantasy RPGs.
A must for all rpg/action lovers out there ..

Well i bought the game a few weeks ago and completed the game yesterday.
If you are looking for a game that offers many many challenges and quests, advanced interaction with the DD-world with great graphics then this game is for you. After choosing your character you have the ability to teach it skills of various types; mage, thief and warrior; The good thing is that you can combine all skill classes to you desires. This game litterally offer many many hours of game play, it will take you nearly 7 days and night to finish the game. The story is pretty nice, and to be honest you won't be bored for a single moment.
The game offers no multiplay however but regardless is still a fine single player game.
This game has some similar aspects to diablo two, but the game-quality itself is of a higher quality whereas diablo 2 is primarily focussed on skills and experience gathering.
Definately a good game.
A great surprise

I am addicted to Div Div. I had to take time off from work to play this game. :) With many of the reviews comparing this game to Diablo, I was kind of skeptical of buying it. I have been very happy to see that the only comparison you can make to Diablo is the interface, and the life and manna requirements. But don't be fooled by the kids that say this is a Diablo clone. The story is a brilliantly unfolding drama every min you play. The side quests are numerous and meaningful, the graphics and the music are top notch. So far,I have nothing bad to say about Divine Divinity. This game should be recieving much more attention than it seems to be right now. If you are a fan of RPGs, or if you want to try out an RPG for the first time, this game will make you very happy!
A pleasant surprise!

An old friend gave me this as a gift recently, saying only, "I'm pretty sure you'll like it." Boy, was he right. This is the most I've enjoyed playing a computer game in years. There are enough quests to keep your attention, but which quests you do are, for the most part, optional, and the storyline is only partially linear. You can make of your character whatever you want, so I, for example, ended up playing a thief who was too nice to steal things, but who did a ... of a job in battle. Go figure. :)
The only reason I haven't given this game 5 stars is because it makes my computer drag, and after more than a couple of hours of gameplay, it gets visibly and audibly slower. This is a major deal becauase the game is a year old, but my computer is only three weeks old, and pretty close to top-of-the-line, so that simply shouldn't happen. Overall, though, the game itself is so excellent that I can overlook performance issues--and that's saying a LOT.
Maximum Frustrations - Great Game

First, Let me begin by laying out my system. I am currently running at 3.20 GHZ w/ 1024 Mbs of ram. I have a GeForce FX 5500
DDR PCI ( no AGP slot) graphics card. I have had to start the game over due to glitches on several occasions. On one occasion,
I got stuck up by Dwarven halls. I literaly couldn,t move from
where I was at. On another occasion, I ran into problems Versitis. It was already fully visible when I entered and the game would eventually lock-up. I am looking to see if I can find
a newer version, preferably the DVD version. I have ver. 1.007
and it does not run well. My nephew had a file started and ran into problems in the council hall, ( no balls to place, and all
but two were closed as if you had already rounded up those members). Over all the game is a very good game with some really
detailed graphics, ( notice the reflections in the pools ). If
you can find a later version you will not be disappointed.
