God, I love Ubisoft ... how do they keep doing it?
I think what I love most about this version of the game for Xbox 360 is that while you're in the same locations as the Xbox v1.0 version, the game play is completely different ... it's as though Ubisoft created two different games.
Can't quite give it 5 stars, though, because some of the game play is a pain (like building the bombs in the second visit to the JBA's headquarters ... much more difficult than it had to be) and the story is OK at best.
Still, this latest chapter in the Splinter Cell franchise is a welcome addition.
Can't wait for the next chapter, Conviction.
Addictive Game

This game is excellent! i'ts quite short if you played older splinter cell games, but the experience is sweet! The story is very original and the gameplay amazing. The multiplayer is excellent, i never played a game so addictive!!!
Great game. Could have been made even better.

As my title suggests, this game is undoubtedly a great deal of fun and a must buy, however I think a few aspects of it could be tweaked to make it probably one of the best console games out there.
I am not too happy with the new stealth system which is based on colors, and actually seems a downgrade from the old system. A combination of colors with the old system would be great.
The story line is great, but I am a big fan of in game videos... however double agent seems to be lacking in that aspect.
The new ways of killing your enemies such as through the ice are a great addition, but what I would really like in the next Splinter cell is the introduction of more weapons or new ways to take out your enemies like syringes, poisoning drinks, etc.
Lastly, how about playing with the idea of a co-op game... it just adds a whole new element. Just look at Gears of War...
Must Buy!

I own Splinter Cell: Double Agent for my 360 and I love it. The voice acting is awesome, the music was really well made to fit the game, and the action is great. It's one of my favirote games for the 360 and I also think it's one of the best games out there. The best Splinter Cell game so far.
tough stealth game

this game requires a lot of stealth so for shooting/killing action it is pretty slow. i do like the strategy element of figuring out how to use the shadows and the technical equipment to avoid and distract the enemy. this is not a fast play game but if you have time you will enjoy choking out a lot of bad dudes. enjoy
Splinter Cell: D&A, great game but Sam's getting rusty.

Oddly enough for a Splinter Cell game, the control interface felt very clunky and awkward. Sam was nowhere near as fluid in DA as he has been in past titles. I couldn't even pull off some of the signature stealth moves like hallway splits. This series entry went more for "Hitman" style action. Which was still great, just different than expected and hoped for. Also the camera angle seemed uncomfortably close-in, making planning difficult for me personally.
Game difficulty was a bit uneven. Even on easy mode, there is an unforgiving learning curve and unbalanced enemy AI with amazing detection abilities. Despite many controller throwing impulses, the final levels are very rewarding but with a few "WTF?" moments on plot development, which I won't spoil. Let's just say that I blew up a lot of stuff and stabbed more than my share of terrorists. Definitely worth at least your weekend rental!
On par with previous titles in the series

This is on par with previous titles in the series. But, this is slightly better in that, you can play it multiple times without getting old since what objectives you do and chose not to do effect the game. For example, I just finished playing for the first time and I framed Enricka for the bomb not going off and didn't kill Lambert at the end so I got the best possible ending. When I play it again I can let the bomb go off or stop it and not frame Enricka, and so on and so forth.
awesome game...

what are the other reviewers smoking? maybe it is different from other splinter cell games...i'm not sure, i played part of one SC game previously and i didn't like it at all. but i loved this one. it's not an overly long game, but it's very well done. the graphics are great, the story's pretty good (except for some ridiculous predictable politically correct terrorists). all in all this is a fantastic game.
Good Game...but flawed

I felt like this game was a lot of fun, actually beat it 3 times. I won't go into the good and the bad since everyone else here has sumed it up. However, the game tends to freeze and the loading times are long...even on the 360!
Solid fun and intense excitement

First a confession, I never played a SC game before Double Agent. I don't know why I didn't, but I didn't. I've seen a lot of reviews comparing them and I can't speak to that. This is totally a newbie's review.
I thought the game was really good. Every mission had a multitude of way to complete it. The voice acting was great, especially Michael Ironside. The storyline was interesting. The missions were very varied and the graphics were really good.
My only beef is with the nature of the game in spirit versus execution. You're supposed to be a spy who goes in covertly, steals stuff, kills guys, and various other sneaky things. That's great. I love games like that. (the Thief and Hitman series come to mind) But SC:DA doesn't really make you do that. With the exception of a few key characters you can go in guns blazing and bring the house down. There are consequences for this but it doesn't feel real enough. If you're going to the trouble to create such great openended missions, the consequences of your execution should also be equally well crafted. I just wasn't feeling that.
Besides that, the game was a lot of fun and I would recommend it to fans of the genre. Go ye forth and spy.
