Great Game

This game right here i thought was going to nice like the first NFS games. As you start the game it has pretty nice graphics but not as great as the other xbox360 games have. The story of the game is pretty corny and the acting in the short movies during career mode is just sad but i knew it was a NFS game so i didn't take those 2 things seriously. The only reason i gave this game 4 stars because the gameplay is extremely fun, this time the cop pursuit is way different you have to outchase them after the race is done which is to either speed out or hide in a garage or in dark corners. Theres tons of cars that you get to hook up with new paints and rims and trust me the selections are huge! Also you can get new engines, suspensions,Tires etc. Theres no end to hooking your car up in this game.Theres tons of types of race like Drift,Race Wars,Sprint,Checkpoint etc. What i am trying to say is this isn't one of those racing games that gets boring after 20 minutes because you will always something new to do due to all the things you unlock after every race. I almost forgot the best part of this new game , During a race you can have a partner who is either a scout, blocker, and another type i forgot sorry about that but the jobs these guys do is a blocker during the race will intentionally crash into cars ahead or behind you to gve you a huge lead. A scout goes around the map and finds shortcuts for you so you can use them and the last one that i forgot the name sorry again
=( is when you stay behind them you get extra boost on your nitro speed its awesome. Oh and the last thing is when your going really fast and need to make a turn but you think you have no control well guess what !? you got slow motion now you can actually use slow motion and make U-turns instead of hitting walls which will slow you down and might make you give up your lead. I highly recommend this game for the fun and Adrenaline rush. If you take stories of the game seriously don't get this you'll be dissapointed.

Down and Dirty Street Racing... NFS Style

All around the world, people dream about having a fast car and exercising absolutely no self control as they fight street racers, traffic, and police. This dream is known as Need for Speed; and its latest sequel, Carbon, takes every step to make sure that those dreams are carried on.
The four biggest features of Carbon are as follows:
1. Canyons

2. Autosculpt

3. Pursuits

4. Classes
Three of the four things listed above weren't in Most Wanted. The Canyon Races, which include Sprints, Races and Duels (basically the boss battles of your career are in the duels), gives us a chance to think, "EA is still thinking".
Autosculpt gives you the power to customize pretty much any part of your car, from wheels, to a spoiler, and even how tall your car is. Thanks to this feature, no two cars are EXACTLY alike.
Pursuits were in the last one, but I think they are neat anyway. Throughout the course of the career mode, police cars will occasionally chase your vehicle (hey, you racing fans, They finally made Street Racing illegal!), with the sole intention of busting you. They may be easy at the beginning, but as you become more and more infamous, the police start to get tricky.
Last, but not least, there are three different car classes in Need for Speed Carbon.

Exotics, which have the highest top speed (think Lamborghini)
Muscles, which have the highest acceleration (Corvette)
And Tuners, which have the best handling (think, um, a Toyota?)

This game is really good, especially online. If you don't like street racing games like this, this game isn't for you. (You might like Burnout, I wrote a review about Revenge, and you can read that too) However, if you dream that dream of being the Most Wanted, if you live and breath fast cars, street cred, and leaving the opposing racers in your dust, then you should buy this game. Now. Because the things above are what Need for Speed is all about.

Pretty fun

NFS:Carbon is the latest NFS out right now. So how does it compare to the past NFS?

Depends on your taste.

Carbon is a fun game. To me, I usually like playing shooter games, but i love cars. So to me, just putting this in, races a few times, hooking up the cars with the amazing varity of accessories you can use here. Matter of fact, lets get to that wheel quick.

You can upgrade your cars in so many ways, yet, you cant. Let me explain. You can change what size wheels you want. But, it only goes up to 21'. cmon man i want some 24's! the paint varity is good. Nice window tints. But...no underglow?? i want some neons on my ride! also upgrading your engine and what-not is made easy. Anyone can do it.

The graphics are beautiful. Personally i could just put it in just to look at the cars shine ha.

BUT..for big fans of the past NFS..it could be overhyped.

Carbon is fun, pretty, and easy to learn. But the Underground series is alot better. Sure, canyons are fun, but when you make a street racing game...focus on STREET racing.

also is it just me or wouldnt it be alot cooler if (like the commercials) you actually did fall of the canyon in a destructive, firey, awesome type way? that slow'mo carp didnt do it for me.

ALTHOUGH the new slow mo button does add alot more excitment, speacially when being chased by the police.

Now the downfall...Online Mode

The modes are pretty cool, simple racing, and a mode where you or someone else is a cop and you must aviod them...or something to that effect. But more importanly..it lags ALOT. you will start the race sometimes and realize...i dont think the leader should be driving upside while flipping back and forth AND winning...not cool.

Need For Speed Carbon, overall, is a satifying racing game with outstanding graphics. Underground might be better, but if your looking for a racing game made for the 360, so far this one is going to be your best bet.

The Best Need For Speed to date.

I've been playing the Need for Speed Games for years, and can say without a doubt this is the best of the lot.

The graphics are incredible, game play is smooth and seamless. It's challenging, but to just the right amount. It's not overly hard to finish this game. And you'll want to do it all over again.

Not the best of the NFS lineup...

There are few other games that have the ability to make me as angry as this game.

1. The graphics are fairly decent but very jumpy. The FPS really suck when you are doing the canyon races, especially the drifts, almost to the point of making them impossible to complete perfectly.

2. The game play is somewhat reminiscent of MW and NFS Underground 2, but never quite meets their standards of greatness.

3. The in game physics are, again, a problem as EA has completely ignored the complaints of so many fans and continued to make the cops more powerful than Sherman tanks, while maintaining the lightning fast speed of an F1 race car. Also, the cops abilities to spawn anywhere they please is a little hokey. In addition the invisible walls still continue to be a hassle like in MW.

4. Lastly, EA has this problem of making racing games with auto catchup on computer cars. Add this to the fact that it is almost impossible to open new faster cars in this game and you have the impossible to win races of Carbon. And I breezed through MW, Pursuit 2 and Underground 2.

- The fact is, this game wouldn't be worth the plastic and foil it was burned into if it didn't have a pretty extensive and fun set of non career accomplishments that allowed you to open new parts and cars without having you territory "attacked" every 5 seconds. I've played the game for maybe 25 - 30 hours and probably won't ever play it again. As a matter of fact, I'm restarting my career on MW just so I can forget Carbon.

I wish the Fast and the Furious had never happened.

The racing aspect of the game was fun, but the story was absolutely horrible. It was the lamest thing I have ever seen. The cars were great (especially the Challenger), and the driving was close to realistic. It's an overall fun game. If you like racing games and modifying some cool cars, then this is a great buy.

This game is very addicting. By winning races, you take control of the city one block at a time. Customizing your dream car is only part of the fun, there are endless possibilities. This is a must have for racing fans. Perfect gift for the holidays.

I've played all the NFS games and this one is ok. I liked Most wanted better but I don't regret purchasing Carbon, I really miss the intricate tuning of NFSU2. I like the team concept applied. Buy this game if you like the NFSU2, Most Wanted. Why not? You've already come as far as reading reviews about the gane. Just buy it and you can write your own review! I'm not going to ramble on about my personal opinion or preferences.

I bought this game, because I previously had it on the XBOX console, so I proceeded to buy this for the 360 console, and it looks way better, really love it.

I bought this game for my hubby, but I enjoy it as well. It has lots of great cars, including my favorie classic muscle car, the Chevelle SS. There's plenty of achievements to earn that will keep you busy & interested. I've heard about people having problems with this game malfunctioning, but so far ours has worked fine.
