Wanna play through the movie's battle scenes, but how you'd do it? Then get the game. However, gameplay is offensively bad, mobility and camera angles are silly and overall it's a very short game with little replayability.
I've played this game three times now and each time I've thrown my xbox controller to the floor and asked myself, "why the hell did I buy this?"
You can be surrounded and knocked to the ground over and over again until you die and have to restart the entire level. On the other hand, if the developers did it any other way, they be screwed because the game would be over in 30 minutes.
It's also a one-player game. Fun. Once.
Forget about exploring the beautiful world of Middle-Earth. You have a thin track to walk through. It's like being on a mobilized sidewalk with a sword and watching enemies jump down to get you. This means forget about jumping (apparently the high gravity of middle-earth makes this impossible). Forget about running through forests hacking and chasing orks.
Gamespot.com gave this game a "Great" rating. This just confirms my suspition that they don't actually play any games. They gave Bloodrayne a 7.0 and that is still one of my favorite games. Idiots. I challenge any of those portly beeyotches to a review-off any day.
Save your money, I hear Halo 2's coming out in 6 months. Which will be the next time anything good is done for Xbox.
If you don't agree with my review, then buy Bruce Lee: Quest of the Dragon. I'm sure you'll enjoy that one.
Rent it if anything..

Who ever rated this game 5 stars must have never played any other game because this game barely mediocre. I did like the cutscenes and how they intro'd into actual game play but that is honestly all I can say that is really nice about this game.
The camera angles are inconvenient sometimes and you can actually be fighting creatures that you cant even see because they are off screen or for larger creatures they can be front of you to where you cant even see yourself. Several times I was pushing up then the camera angle would switch and I would be going backwards.
There is no intelligence needed to play this game. You swing your sword repeatedly while dodging attacks of enemies. It is just like older games with bosses that all have a weakness that you can exploit to defeat them. I think this game was targeted towards younger teens and the name of this game should be 'mindless sword swinging'.
Graphics are OK with one major flaw - there are many areas that are exposed that you cant walk into. This game is completely linear and many games now include visual barriers like trees, bushes, etc. This game leaves entire areas open and they only thing that tells you can go there is that your character wont go there. I was confused from time to time which way to go - it looked like I could go in many directions.
How anyone could give this game 4 or 5 stars and put this game up there in the ranks of Splinter Cell, Halo, etc. is beyond me.
Did not enjot it

I'm not fond of video games that are fashioned after movies/books. It takes away from the mystery that video games otherwise offer. The thrill of not knowing what is going to happen and what you are going to meet next isn't fullfilled. The outline is already mapped out and the suprise factor is gone. LOTR Two Towers feels like the game has too much control over me. There are too many cut scenes that you can't button through (can be frustrating).
I didn't give the game a chance to play repeatedly so I may have missed out on some important things (like how to skip the cut scenes) but I found the game play boring. If you're into pure hack and slash then this is the game for you. I found it pretty bland.
On a brighter side, the game looks and sounds decent.
Not involved at all

This game has no story at all. If the movie wasn't so good no one would ever buy the game. What about the exciting three customizable characters you say? They are basicly the exact same. The moves you can buy for each one are the same just with different names. The game is almost too easy. It took all of 3 or 4 hours of game play to beat the main story line and the secret level. It also gets very repetive. Every level is the same fight except for the background.
Just Plain Uninteresting

Hearing the praise heaped upon this title in the gaming
press convinced me to go out and buy a title. I was
very disappointed.
The various quests in the game all feel the same: kill
a bunch of orcs, fight a big boss.
The graphics are impressive, but no more so than any other
major XBOX title.
The game is LOADED with cutscenes from the first two
LotR movies. They add a little something to the game,
but only the first time you watch them. And that's the
problem -- its difficult if not impossible to stop them
once they've started! You have to set through the entire
thing every time you replay a mission. Yawn.
I won't call this a bad game, not compared to some of the
abysmal heaps of festering parrot droppings I've played
in over twenty years of video gaming. But this could have
been far better.
this is the best game ever!

I got this game the second it was out and could not stop playing it. It has great graphics and it is just like the the two towers.i am a huge fan of lord of the rings.i just had to buy the game. Some of the levels are kinda hard to beat but with hhours of game time you can beat them. at the begining of the game they show a part from the fellowship of the ring. what i dont like about the game is you cant skip the talking scenes the first time you play a level.the controls are not hard to learn at all. you dont even have to read the instruction booklet because when the level is loading they show you some of the controls. gimil is slow in the water but he can fight pretty good sometimes but i always use legolas he fights pretty good. aragorn is ok. in the game you fight by yourself alot but before you complete the mission the other characters will come and help you fight. Overall this is a great game i recommend it to kids of the ages 9 and up.
I also bought Zelda a link to the past and i recommend it for poeple 8 and up.
Go BUY THOSE GAMES ASAP . AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
AIRIGHT!!!!!

The graphics are good, and the match scenes from the movie are very nice, but the game play is very weak. It is JUST combat. No role play. a real button masher. I am very disappointd.

This was my first ever x-box game, but it was also the game that made me what to buy the console. If what they did for this game is so great, I can't wait for the Return of the King to come out next year.
frustrating game

I do not like this game witch i feal is to frustating and no fun.(1)you have to buy combos.(2)the orc archers can get anoying.(3)if you get into a big fight like 1 on 4 you lose half your health treing to kill just 1 of them.(4)the clips from the movies make me feel like i was playing a 1990's game.
