I will not spoil anything and will make this review short: The .hack games are great. You'll love it. After you've played this, play the others, because they rock as well.

It's a really good idea to try the anime's as well as the books, because they all have a intersecting story. This game takes a bit to grow on ya but the story draws you in and keeps you wanting to know more. Your characters can carry over into the next volume too when you finish with this one.

I bought this game due to suggestions of everyone around me to go buy it. After playing through this first game, I have to admit, although I didn't find the storyline nor the gaming nearly as interesting as many other games, I was addicted. Immediately, I bought the sequel (which possesses gaming almost IDENTICAL to this first game). The storyline was nothing memorable and despite having played both games only two months ago and having watched .hack//sign, I have almost completely forgotten the entire storyline with the exception of the characters that were also mentioned in .hack//sign (oddly enough, I actually found that anime interesting) The monsters and "worlds" are bland, which is the entire purpose as it is simulating a MMORPG. There are too many irrelevant missions into the same repetitive atmospheres and so by the time I was half-way through the sequel, I was falling asleep. Since this first game is pretty much like the first CD in a multi-CD game, if there's no motivation to continue on the second disk then i would have to say that the first disk is useless as well.

Dot Hack is a very good game but in a needing status. It has a good story but bad camera system. You'll not need much time to finish this game. The battle system rocks out loud though. You can controll basically everything that your character does and they use common sense with stuff like not letting the mage attack that way they dont get killed. I never really got into the grunty thing though they did come in handy. The trading system was awesome.

.hack is a bit confusing, and dungeons can be hard, but once you get the hang of it, this game is really cool. I'm not very far in the game, so I don't know much, but 2 of my friends are, and they LOVE it. From the part of the game that I have completed, I highly reccommend this game, but I would definitly buy Dark Cloud 2, or the golden sun series,that I have both written reviews on, first

The graphics in this game are amazing. As well as for the well developed story line and how each character has their own personallity. Once you start playing this game you feel like you have lost your self in a world filled with players for around the globe. This is diffinatly the best game that Japan has ever made.

The minute I picked this game up I didnt really have a good background off the show. But wow! I was really impressed the gameplay is like nothing I have ever seen before. Sometimes it can be a little amorous but its still amazing. I suggest purcheasing 1 or 10 if you havnt already.

There are some people who are crazy about Final Fantasy and some are crazy about Lord of the Rings. However, I am crazy about .hack because it is a great mystery, game, and show! You start out with 2 people in your party but you gain more as you progress through the game. I have only played the first 2 but I hope to play the third really soon! Overall, I think, other than the Ratchet and Clank series, that this is the absolute BEST game series ever!

I have only one thing to say about this game. It is by fare the best action rpg i have ever played. Many think kingdom hearts is better but this game dosen't have you runing around with donld duck. This game has great battle modes that even lets u shout orders to your other partty memebers as you and them battle in real time. A lot of peaopl complain that it is only 15-20 hours long but thats only if you rush through it and skip all the side quest. I really recomend this game for all types of games.
