BE Jack Bauer

I have only had this game for half a day as I am writing this and have completed the first few missions. 2k games has hit a homer with this one !! They have captured the look feel and excitement of a new "season" of 24 in this game. The voices of the actual actors are here and the feel and suspense are as well. Controls are easy to learn. Anyone who has played any third-person action games will get the hang of it in no time. I love being able to defuse bombs (or try....LOL) and interrogate suspects. You really feel into this game as if you ARE Jack Bauer. If you are a fan of 24 and have a game system, then why are you sitting there ?? ORDER THIS and let the excitement begin !!

Yet Another Day in the Life of Jack Bauer

Like 90% of the people who played this game, my primary motivation for playing through was to watch a mini season of 24. The story takes place during the considerable gap of time between the 2nd and 3rd seasons of the show.

With the actors from the show voicing their characters and the music and script written by the guys who work on the real show, it should not have been too hard to please me with this game. And in that respect, the game fulfilled, but did not exceed, my expectations.

While I enjoyed watching this extra "day", the gameplay left a lot to be desired. There was quite a bit of variety, which was nice, and you get to play as almost every character from the show. There were so many different types of missions that the standard "get from point A to point B while shooting people" missions only made up about 60% of the game. The rest of the game involved driving, computer hacking, interrogating, sniping, and such. This would be really cool if all these missions were actually fun. Pretty much any mission involving driving sucked, since the controls were incredibly sloppy. Interrogation was kind of fun the first time, but it didn't need to be done several times. There were three or four different computer hacking missions that got done over and over again, so that they weren't much fun by the end of the game. As for the rest of the game, I'd describe it as mediocre. There wasn't anything spectacular about the gameplay; there were too many missions where the environment was so dark that it was impossible to see where I was going; and there was no reason at all for there to be two missions that involved shooting down a helicopter.

In addition, there were too many missions that were unnecessarily difficult, in my opinion. In one such mission, you are playing as Jack and you have to defend a girl who is defusing a bomb. There is basically an endless supply of terrorists who keep rushing out and start shooting at you, and if the girl takes any damage at all she starts whining and stops working. It wouldn't be nearly so annoying if it weren't for the fact that there doesn't seem to be any strategy whatsoever to beating the mission. I must have made a dozen attempts with varying degrees of success. I have no idea what I did differently when I finally beat it. Pretty much any mission that involves you protecting another person is extremely annoying, because that person will usually tend to stand out in the open taking damage instead of finding cover. And despite the fact that your partner is firing their weapon constantly, they never hit a single enemy, so you have to take everyone out yourself.

In all, the game is worth playing through for the story if you're a fan of the show. Otherwise, you could find much better action games out there.

The Best Game Ever!!!

I've been a 24 fan ever since I saw the very first episode. It delivered drama, action, and shocks and twists. After the end of Season 2 and the beginning of season 3, I was left with questions: How did David Palmer recover?, and how did Jack Bauer and Chase Edmunds first started working together? Then I heard that 24 The Game was coming out and that it would answer those question, plus more, because it takes place between Seasons 2 and 3. In this game, you get to play Jack Bauer(yes!!!), Tony Almeida, and Chase Edmunds.

When I first played this game, I felt like I WAS Jack Bauer. The graphics are stunning and look just like him. It also has Kiefer Sutherland's voice, which made it even more realistic. This game nearly had me believing that I was living the life of Jack Bauer. The game also has an amazing storyline,it's pretty much watching another season. It also nearly takes 24 hours to finish, depending on how well you get used to it.

What is also great about this game is that, while you are playing it, it will go to split screen shots like on the show. The game stays true to the show: you have 24 hours to stop terrorist from unleashing devestating attacks against America, and live the life of Jack Bauer. I highly recommend buying this game for all of the 24 fans (beginners and for the those who have watched it from the beginning.) It is, in my opinion, the best game ever made. So far...

For fans of the TV show.

This game gives you the chance to step in the shoes of Jack Bauer and others as the game continues. This game has what 24 has in the show. The split screens, clocks and the show's qualities are included. The storyline is good and takes place between seasons 2 and 3. The characters are included and the gameplay is cool. The interogation missions are well done and when computer geeks do something to help out you actually get to see them do what they usually do. However the M rating given by the ESRB was well deserved. If you get what goes on in the show and if you pay attention to the elements you would understand. Who knows what the MPAA will rate the rumored Big screen movie. The game has its own plot twists. People you see in the CTU die when the bad guys take over. The game goes well on the show and overall the game is a must buy for 24 fans. The game is cool so 24 fans play it,

Avid 24 fan since Season 1

There are three sole premises that makes 24 one of the greatest Action/Dramas on Television.

1. Jack Bauer
2. Real-time events
3. Kill Terrorists

You take those three factors away and 24 doesn't exist as the drama we know it. Each factor plays a key role in this new "long day" for CTU Field Operations Director, Jack Bauer. Based in Los Angeles, the opening scene begins with Jack's infiltration of a cargo ship full of terrorists in possession of a poisonous gas. Each scene is delicately blocked out to show multiple events happening at one time. Then you are reverted back to a single screen of Jack doing what he does best. Killing terrorists. Some great basic features are in this game as with other 3rd person perspective games, similar to Getaway and GTA. You will fire a gun, run around in third person, target in, and then kill terrorists. The only difficulty will be adjusting to the camera movement that you have to constantly be in control of. But once used to juggling both analog sticks at the same time, it'll become second nature to you. You may also give the terrorists an opportunity to surrender and be taken into custody. But I'll leave that option for the Alias fans who play this game. The minigames (unlocking doors, interrogation, disarming bombs, satellite imagery) are just that, timed, precision-based sub-games. These can be VERY difficult/frustrating at first. Now, why is this game 100% everything it's supposed to be? Sound and Voice acting.

Keifer Sutherland (Jack) and Reiko Aylesworth (Michelle) are phenomenal. You would never be able to tell that you aren't watching an episode of 24. The rest of the cast is here including the voices to characters: Chase Edmonds, Chloe O'Brien, Tony Almeida, President David Palmer, Vice-President Jim Prescott, Ryan Chapelle among others a little more "secret". With the soundtrack by Sean Callery you have the complete "24" experience. It really is the voice-acting that let your eyes believe that you are living a day between season 2 and 3.

If you LOVE 24, you MUST get this game.
If you LIKE 24, you will find it is rather a short game but enjoyable in gameplay and story.
If you HATE 24, then you most likely are waiting for Bachelor: The Game to come out.

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME... A MUST OWN!

A lot of people are saying the graphics are bad. But mostly, that's not true. As for the gameplay, it's amazing. The driving levels (not that hard to control car) are very fun. The shooting levels are great. There's so much to do. Like sniping, interrogating, bomb defusing, and much more. The storyline is just like the 24 TV show, but with its own plot twists. If you've ever listened to a review, listen t this one. If you are new to the 24 universe or are a little skeptic, then I suggest renting it. Then, if you find out you like it, buy it. Trust me, 24 fan or not, you won't regret it.

I have had this game for a little less then a week. I think it is one of the best games i have. I do not usually buy 2K games but since i love the show 24 i thought i would give this one a try. I am glad i did, i have almost beat the game but i don't like to play it all at once. It is one of those games where you don't want to finish to soon because you like it so much. I reccomend this game to every 24 fan. Before you order the game order seasons 1-4 of 24 and watch them. You will be amazed.

FAN OF 24? MUST BUY IT
