The Classic Rayman!

This game might be 2D, about 4 years old (This game premeared on Sega Saturn), and the idea is kinda strange, but this is a GREAT game! At first it starts out quite easy (You'll beat the first 5 levels in less than 2 minutes) but soon you're wondering if there is a way to beat the game. Heck, before you know it you'll buy the stratigy guide to try and figure out what to do next. This game has given me more of a challange in gaming than Lara Croft did in Tomb Raider. I highly recomend this game. Now where is a copy for Dreamcast? Huh, Sega?

Never have I been so obsessed with a game like Rayman. It's like you learn something new everyday. I played this in the software format too. I recommend this to everyone. PlayStation knows exactally what to do to keep people entertained.

Rayman was our first Playstation game. It kept us entertained (and frustrated at times!) for hours on end. It starts out easy, but it doesn't last for long! The 2nd Rayman was easier and even more fun. You might want to try the Spyro series, too.

The Best Of An Extinct Species.

The "next generation" systems (Playstation and Sega Saturn) ushered in a new era. With their release, we saw a new type of game we had never seen before. Suddenly, we were able to move freely in 3-D and experience new worlds. Sadly, with this new era of gaming, we also witnessed the end of the genre that had, at one time, ruled the industry; we saw the death of the 2-D platformer. I grew up in the '80's with Mario and friends, and fell in love with the platformer. That is why I must recommend, with all of my heart, Rayman. This is, without a doubt in my mind, the best platform experience I have ever been a part of. I say this because when you play Rayman, you will become immersed in it. The graphics are superb and wonderfully colorful, and they definitely show the best of the dying tradition of hand-drawn, 2-dimensional characters. The control for this game is so tight that Rayman becomes one with you. The music and sound effects are also wonderful and are well-suited to this game's zany atmosphere. The level design is ingenious in this game and the challenge level is very high. It is very challenging, but it is also a game that you will want to experience again and again. I have to wonder why designers simply forgot about the 2-D genre, because with more games like Rayman, it could rule the industry once again. Buy this game and treat yourself to the finest 2-D experience ever created.

Sidescrollers on the PS1 don't get much better than this!

Rayman is a classic game released in the Playstation's early years. And it's still a great game!

Gameplay:10/10: Sidescrolling joy! You are Rayman, an armless, legless, neckless thingy, who has to save his world after the evil Mr. Dark takes over it. You will need to free your caged friends in all of the huge worlds to get to Mr. Dark's layer. You also get powers, such as punching, helicopter, and more! You also fight tough bosses like Space Mama!

Challange:10/10: It's HARD! And only 5 continues! But here's a hint: If you have less than 3 continues, press up, down left, and right on the continue screen to get 10 extra continues!

Graphics: 10/10: They are colorful, and I mean COLORFUL! Bright, cartoonlike 2D graphics. The best of the PS's 2D graphics!

Sound: 9/10: It sounds great!

Music: 10/10: I love the music. My favorite tune is the music on certai levels on the Cave of Skops!

So if you have a PS, and are looking for a chalanging sidescroller, look no further!

The game is old, but great!

As Ubi Soft comes up with another game, as we call Rayman, is a game about creatures in a mythical world. The missions are tricky, but fun. Your goal is to free all the neptunes( which are cute little pink animals) or just go ahead and beat the game. As you go on and beat levels, you get powers such as punching for the first one, hanging, swinging on this horse shoe shaped things, running, and flying. It's more challenging to do it the right way which is to free them. The backgrounds and the music are awesome, some are even like your in a forest, and if you close your eyes and listen to the noise, it feels like your in the game. Many people I knew thought it would be better than Mario, but it is! Your talking about a game from 1995! TO those who think are good in games, tis is the one for you. To me it was easy until the next level and the next. My family had a great time trying to beat the levels. My dad, sister, mom and I would work on the game for hours. We were stuck on one level in 1/2 of the game but we beat it. The game has many levels, it's like 2 Mario 64's comined! Well, it's cheap and kills off lots of time! I recommend, I mean demand that you get it, jk! Just try it out!

The best game for PS one!

A Suprisingly Challenging 2-D Masterpiece!

As some of my readers know, I own a Playstation 2 after 6 years of original Playstation, and that I've kept all of my games from it. I'd consider myself a fairly experienced gamer, and one of the most challenging, beautiful and all out extrodanariy games for the Playstation has got to be the 2-D original masterpiece, Rayman!

What do I mean by challenging? Even after all of my best efforts and devoted hours to this title I still have yet to beaten it. Rayman has over 30 massive levels ( including bounus levels, ) with some of the most vibrant and imaginitive colored backrounds on each level which are layerd to look like they never end! And it works remarkably to make you believe that your in the shoes of that limbless lion-hearted hero Rayman out to save your world.

Rayman also offers deep gameplay and many moves, such as using his surfer hair for flying like a helicopter and his fist for powering up, grabbing nearby items, and firing out at enimies. He uses climbing and crawling technequies to acheive unexplored parts of any level, and can run and shrink to escape faster from threats.

Rayman adventures through many magical relams, which include Band Land, Blue Mountains, Picture City, Dream Forest, The Caves of Skops and finally, Candy Chateau. These worlds have their own quirky enimies and backrounds according to their themes, and have many passages a creatures to save hidden somewhere in them.

Many other sequals such as Rayman 2, Rayman Rush and Rayman Arena are all in full 3-D, but are never as fun ( don't get me wrong, Rayman's sequals on Playstation and Playstation 2 are good, ) or as grand of a spark as the original. Rayman sure has had many changes to appeal to his new generation of gamers.

Despite it's childish looks, Rayman has something to offer to any age and "breed" of gamer, and should belong on every Playstation owner's shelf.

Rayman was and still remains one of the greatest titles in gaming history, so if your intrested definetly pick up Rayman!
