A Suprisingly Challenging 2-D Masterpiece!

As some of my readers know, I own a Playstation 2 after 6 years of original Playstation, and that I've kept all of my games from it. I'd consider myself a fairly experienced gamer, and one of the most challenging, beautiful and all out extrodanariy games for the Playstation has got to be the 2-D original masterpiece, Rayman!

What do I mean by challenging? Even after all of my best efforts and devoted hours to this title I still have yet to beaten it. Rayman has over 30 massive levels ( including bounus levels, ) with some of the most vibrant and imaginitive colored backrounds on each level which are layerd to look like they never end! And it works remarkably to make you believe that your in the shoes of that limbless lion-hearted hero Rayman out to save your world.

Rayman also offers deep gameplay and many moves, such as using his surfer hair for flying like a helicopter and his fist for powering up, grabbing nearby items, and firing out at enimies. He uses climbing and crawling technequies to acheive unexplored parts of any level, and can run and shrink to escape faster from threats.

Rayman adventures through many magical relams, which include Band Land, Blue Mountains, Picture City, Dream Forest, The Caves of Skops and finally, Candy Chateau. These worlds have their own quirky enimies and backrounds according to their themes, and have many passages a creatures to save hidden somewhere in them.

Many other sequals such as Rayman 2, Rayman Rush and Rayman Arena are all in full 3-D, but are never as fun ( don't get me wrong, Rayman's sequals on Playstation and Playstation 2 are good, ) or as grand of a spark as the original. Rayman sure has had many changes to appeal to his new generation of gamers.

Despite it's childish looks, Rayman has something to offer to any age and "breed" of gamer, and should belong on every Playstation owner's shelf.

Rayman was and still remains one of the greatest titles in gaming history, so if your intrested definetly pick up Rayman!

If you are bored, play RAYMAN!This is one of the best games I have everplayed on my playstation. There are 60 LEVELS and they get harder and harder. You have to try to free all the ELECTOONS and you can gain abilities on the way to the end. The stary is....... In RAYMAN's world, everyone/everything lived in peace together until one day a fearful thing happens and all the ELECTOONS(they keep the peace in Rayman's world)are caught and imprisoned and there are maniacs running around. RAYMAN TO THE RESCUE!

A challenge for young and old alike.

Rayman is a great 2D platformer game from a visionary game designer. If you like games like Sonic, Mario, Megaman, or Ghouls and Ghosts, you'll like Rayman. It's simple controls lead to complex gameplay as fantastical monsters swarm around you as you run, swing, bounce , and fly your way through gorgeous levels. Once you defeat all the bosses and finish the game, you can go back to previous areas to collect all the items you might have missed. Rayman is a very fun game with good replay value and is definitely worth a try.

Eleven years old, and it still packs a punch.
RAYMAN is a brilliant game, one that you could play over and over again. One of the best-selling games of all time and with so many sequels (RAYMAN 2, RAYMAN 3, RAYMAN RUSH, ETC,) everybody is bound to find something good about it.
The game begins very easy, so youngsters are likely to enjoy it, but it does get a little tricky halfway through. There are many obstacles and enemies to get pasy, so be warned. Your character, Rayman, even gets new moves throughtour the game. He will be able to fly, punch and hang from ledges!
The 2-D graphics are very good. The backgrounds are richly detailed and extremely colourful, and even Rayman and his enemies are brilliant. Movement is very good too.
So, is RAYMAN a good game overrall. Well, of course. The graphics are great, the gameplay even better . . . what else could you ask for?

Rayman was a game I played when I was very young and it kept me entertained for hours. I'm way older now, and it still keeps me entertained. The graphics and the music are beautiful. This is a game that proves that gore is not neccessary to appeal to older gamers. This is a landmark in gaming history. As for the PC version, it runs on DOS (a program not found on Windows XP) but patches can be downloaded that will make it work. I recommend this game to you.

I thought this game looked like fun, I was wrong. It is frustrating and you have to press so many keys at once. They never tell you what key to press, and there is bad guys all over and if you get hit like once your dead. This game is dumb.

Good for its type

If you liked the old type of Sonic games on the Megadrive then you'll love this. This game is hard unless your talented at games like me. I gave this a five because of the grate impact on me as my first PS1 game with Crash 1. This is a 2d platformer(the way you move left or right)and I prefer it to Rayman 2 that is 3D(I do prefer 3D games to 2D).
