Poor use of the english language!

I got this game to enjoy some crossword action, however the clues are awful and very subjective.
I.E. Clue = Dee-licious (10 letters) Answer = MMMMMMGOOD
There is no chance of ever guessing that!
It gets an extra star only because the UI is friendly and has letter recognition.
Keep your money and wait for the UK Times Crossword version!

It is a great way to have crosswords available at any time. I don't think that I will ever buy a book of crosswords again.

Challenging

This is a great game because it has a variety of options and it's challenging. There is a two player option in which you can play on a team or against each other. If you play against each other, you will get points for each right letter in the puzzle, which is really helpful in eliminating possibilities. One player options are also varied and give you the option of unlocking things and receiving grades. Negatives are that some letters are harder to input,so you may end up doing alot of deleting, and the puzzles can be very difficult. If you are not used to doing crosswords, it's best to do the "Monday" puzzles. The problem comes from the clues sometimes being too abstract, but overall it's a fun game that eliminates the need for a pen and paper, and you can take it anywhere to alleviate boredom.

The NY Crossword Puzzle for DS Lite is a great game. It is very easy to use and the puzzles range from easy to impossible. I highly recommend this game.

but it's sometimes frustrating when it doesn't recognize your letters. using the keyboard function seems to work a little better. also, wish there was a way to download more puzzles from the internet.

Finally Crossword

I have never liked Crossword puzzles, but this game is different. I have hardly played Suduko since I got this game. I can not spell, but this game can give hints and corrections. The player can also choose the day of the week from the New York Times, the later in the week the more difficult the game. I really enjoy the format and find it very stimulating.

The interface for doing puzzles is wonderful. I got the hang of it in no time at all (without reading the manual). The puzzles can be hard, but that's okay - I'd expect that from NY Times puzzles. This is a keeper for my collection as it is guaranteed to give me hours of gameplay.

The New York Times Crosswords is an excellent game for the DS. The controls are very intuitive, and it utilizes both screens extremely well. The most amazing aspect of the game is the handwriting recognition software they have implemented. As someone with lousy handwriting, I can't begin to express how satisfying it is to have my letters recognized instantly. With over a 1000 puzzles, I don't think I'll be taking this game out of my DS for while.

Note: Keep in mind that these are NYT crossword puzzles. They get hard. Saturday puzzles can take awhile, and may require a little cheating.
