Poor game

I got this game, and was okay with the fact that it was 2-D. The Gundams are excellent, but I was expecting alot more. I expected to go on missions, instead, you just do boss fight after boss fight, which got really annoying. Only Heero Yuy is from Gundam Wing, when Zechs, and a few others should have been included. I think I should have rented it first.

Dissappointing transition of an enjoyable Japanese title

This game was originally not even associated with the GW series(for those gamers who imported the system S.Famicom\downloaded the emulator for the Super famicom), so it was quite bizarre to discover that it was retitled "Gundam wing the battle master". first, in the Japanese game, the wing gundam was actually the gundam x, and the pilot was female, not heero yuy. Second, the game has aquired some additions, but also I have noticed some deficiencies, such as that the character selection screen has been enhanced with probably 3x the visual effects, but several arenas have dissappeared. Also, Trieze was not the final enemy that you encounter(It appears that he is in this version). And finally, that "Wonderful" voice acting has been removed\edited and a majority of the original music has been removed. In my opinion, if you are attempting to locate an enjoyable Gundam wing battle game, download Endless Duel, don't purchase this. If you are interested in the other Gundam series however, invest in this, you will be quite impressed.

The Bad Wins

I recall playing this game years ago--almost a decade. This game featured a cool cast of characters, but that's it.

For Gundam fans, it may have been somewhat of a treat simply because of the cast of characters and the Gundam title slapped on; however, this Gundam game is more like a slap across the face. The story is drab, the gameplay is a little uninspired and generic (almost a copy of the older 2D Dragon Ball Z fighting games--which were also pretty poor as well--replaced with Gundam characters), the game is horribly unbalanced, and the voice acting was sub-par. This was the first in a line of three Gundam fighting games to be horrible and the trilogy goes downhill with each sequel.

Pros:
+Fun for Gundam Fans
+Lots of Gundams

Cons:
-Generic Fighter/Another Game Using a Known Name and attaching to a bad game
-Unbalanced

I highly only recommend this game to hardcore Gundam fans...and even then, I warn you to rent the game first if you MUST try it out.

What else is there to say about this game? You have a simi-nice gundam game. Although the controls are hard and walking to your opponit takes forever this game is somewhat worth while. If it weren't for the EXTREMELLY short game play (beat it in 10 minutes) this game would be a very nice item. And for all the hard core anime fans out there, no doubt you have to get this. But if beating the game in 10 minutes, and then game over wouldn't satisfy your gaming needs, I suggest you look for another game because you will only be throwing your money away on this one, for the amount of time you would spend playing it.

Fun to play, but why have any Gundam Wing?!

This game is based on the game "Gundam: The battle Master 2" that was only released in Japan. This game is essentially the same, except they took out a great Gundam Character, Amuro Rei, and replaced him with a weak, uninteresting character from Gundam Wing, Heero Yuy. I'm a huge Gundam Fan, but I hate Gundam Wing, so when I first played this, I was none-too-happy to see a crappy Gundam Wing pilot as the lead character. However, the horrible Gundam Wing cameos aside, the game is quite good. (The only Gundam Wing parts are replacing Amuro with Heero and RX-78 Gundam with Wing) The battle system is kinda slow, but with huge arsenals and big guns 'a blazin' the battles can be really fun and challenging. It's an ok game, but it would have been more worth it if they kept it as the original Battle Master and took out anything Gundam Wing.

first, what I do like about the game is the difficulty, it is way harder than the average fighting game, most fighting games I just rent because I take them home and beat them in 5-10 minutes, this is the only fighting game that I have played and not beaten it in the first night I have the game. The only problem's I have is the game engine is obviousley outdated and they just put the face of Heero Yuy on their to piggyback the success of gundam wing, but the game looks and sounds better than 90% of the ... out thair.

Neah, Coulda been a little better

The game isn't that bad. What really bugged me is that it only has 1 mobile suit from Gundam Wing! I was expecting to play as Heavyarms or Shenlong! I don't even know 99% of the mechas. Only buy this game if you like the other Gundam sagas.

3am gameplaying for the masses

I purchased this game with high expectations...I mean, Gundams...mass destruction, I was excited. Sadly the gameplay is a bit slow and the only real challenge I got was at the end when I confronted the boss. The mechanics are similar to other fighting games and focus on combos and button smashing more than they should. Also, the changes that this game went through before reaching America's shores left it wanting. I felt cheated when I heard that the main character in Japan was *gasp* a female mobile suit pilot!! Could it be?! Wow!! And yet, when it hit America, we got Heero Yuy, a *male* MS pilot. Not that there's anything wrong with Heero, mind you, but a girl in a mobile suit was a more inspiring role model to me. All and all, even if you're a big fan of Gundam, you should spend five bucks renting the game rather than almost fifty to buy it.

Get a friggin' grip!!

Get a grip! Not everything's supposed to be sooooo realistic. You're just too lazy to really buy it and play before [griping]. And the MSyou don't know are from the pillars of Gundam! You don't kow the Red Comet's Sazabi? Maaan.........

A fairly bad try

I was excited when I saw this game, and for about 10 minutes was really pleased. But as I got further into to it, I found the game slow and boring. What really angered me is that you can only be Heero in story mode. There are other important pilots in the Gundam series like say - oh I don't know - Amaro Ray? Ever heard of him game? Apparently the first New Type wasn't good enough to be featured in the story version of this game. Another problem was that the playing fields are way to small, but I give major props for getting the scale of the characters in relation to one another correct and the overall variety of characters to choose from. The only other good point about this game is the graphics are quite nice. But it's lack of replay value (something important in all fighting games) and paucity of any real challenge is quite a let down from an anime series that should not be too hard from which to make a great game. Though I hear the sequel to this game is much better, I don't see how it could be any worse.
