Due to popular demand I am giving this a second Chance

Given that I have upset many people with my controversial view of this (cough) classic I decided to give it a second chance.

Let's see let's put it through the test.

Graphics: 1 out of 5 (it fits on the Gameboy Color, that's pathetic for a PSX)

Sound: 1 out of 5 (fairly decent sound effects, bad music)

Controls: 1 out of 5 (these are the worst controls ever)

Fun Factor: 1 out of 5 (I still returned it the next day)

So there you have it. This is a very bad game and I would rather have my tounge frozen to a pole with rabid poodles knawing at my ankles than play this again. Word of advice, buy a PS2 and get Grand Theft Auto 3, you will not regret that financial investment.

This game is purely out of date. Top view game play just make you sick, just go get Driver instead.

gta 2 is with out a doubt one of the best games out on the playstation system. even though i don't like the birds eye view, the gameplay makes up for it. there are many many missions that will keep you busy, or if you like just stealing fast cars and blowing people(and cars) away, this is the game for you. yes there is tons of violence and stealing, but hey its only a game! i wouldn't recommend this game for anyone under 12 years old, (due to the cursing and violence), but if your over 12, you should consider picking this one up. this is the best game ever. (you might want to rent it first)

Grand Theft Auto 2 is one of the best driving, chasing, crime games out there. Its a lot better than Driver because in Driver as soon as the cops see you at all they are chasing you. The only thing I think is even close to wrong with this game is the wierd camera angle from above. From doing crimelords dirty buisiness to wreaking havoc in the streets to just being another Taxi driver this game has it all. Just I dont recommend doing anything you see in this game at home. Very Recommened Game.

Do not buy this game. It is terrible. The graphics are bad. The view is so bad you can't even see where you're driving. Also, its very hard to save the game after you get $50,000. If you want a good game, get GTA 3 for PS2 or Driver 2 if you have a PS1.

Hello i bought this game when it came out and it was ok. The cool part about it is how easy it is. I can get to the highest wanted level which makes it fun because then the army comes after you and you get to steal them. That was the good point now for the bad points. The graphics are terrible and i mean terrible. They are not realistic and it is a sky view. Also the shooting has no aim at all which makes the game harder.

Good but could have been better.

I first played GTA 2 on the PC/Windows 98. When I played it on PSX, alot of things were missing like the rocket launcher, and weapons near the start area, and alot of the voice bytes ( Wasted!, Job Failed!, Frenzy Failed! Busted!) aren't in the PSX version. That's why I like computer version better.

This is total fun for the playstation. It lets you steal cars, but watch out for the cops. Remember to look for the tank in each level.

I loved the original, I won't hide that fact. But upon playing this I saw how badly they made it become.

First gripe is the fact that it plays dire. Where the original had fast playable fun, this is just turd! I expected this to be better than the original but it is far inferior. The driving is dull and boring. the missions bad and just a huge letdown. The game speed has also slowed. What caused this only the developers know. The cities are dull and though they hold many secrets you just can't be bothered trying to find any!

Plus points to this game though are the fact that you can now act like a real person! By this I mean that if you decide to steal a cab, driving slowly near the pavement may result in someone yelling "Taxi!" and leaping into your cab and you driving them around charging them! But even this was faulted! You didn't have to drop them off anywhere! Providing you're careful you can drive them around all day earning quick cash!

Overall this is bad, while you cabn decide which gang to work for you just don't feel the fun it supposedly has. A real waste of time and effort!

It was ok but you were up in the sky at first you didn't know what car you were driving you will probally like gta3 and gta vice city.
