i first got gta2 for christmas, and i really wanted another game. But after playing gta2 and talking to a friend who got the other game, i realized i was lucky that i got this game instead of the other. even though the graphics are second-class, that is overshadowed by the fact that the game is pure fun. if you ever played the game "driver", gta2 is very similar but with more action and more of a plot. the game is also hilarious when you steal a car and the people chase you down the street. this is a very cool game, and i recommend it to anyone over 13 due to some corse language.

This game rocks.

They kept the basic game play the same. Same running over people, shooting whoever, and avoiding cops, but they added a new twist. The cops are better. As you progress up the cop levels they send some harder and cooler stuff at you (i.e. the army).

if you like a game where you steel cars this is for you. you work for gangs and when you screw them up they try to kill you also. you can run people over and steal cop cars, fire trucks, ambulances, ice cream trucks and all sorts of cars. if your on a high speed chase you can paint your car. you can rig it with explosives, guns and oil slicks.

This game has been one of the best i have ever played. It is not only a great game to try and beat, but also a great game just to fool aroung and have fun. The possibilities are almost endless! The cars and characters are amazing and funny. A true masterpiece!

Gta2 is definately a fun game. It's kind of hard and there is a lot of swearing, crime, and violence. The graphics are also a lot better on the computer than the psx but I kind of like the way that the psx handles better. It's kind of a toss up but I give the psx version a 4.

OK...so it's not for everyone, but if you can take it with a grain of salt, and realize that it's just a game, then you'll have a blast playing it. Definately not for kids, you get rewarded for running down pedestrians, killing mobsters, ... and just about everyone. If you're lucky enough to survive the police and secret agents chasing you, the army will finally come and you can steal one of their tanks, and just wreak havoc. I don't think I'll ever get sick of this game.

As everyone says it's graphics aren't the greatest but hello look at the gameplay! You are able to hijack any car, work for gangs, have the army tailgate you! This game is simply the best!
I know it doesnt reach Grand Theft Auto 3's expectations but its 20 dollars cheaper. If you don't have a PS2 or don't have 50 bucks for the third i recomend Grand Theft Auto 2 too anyone!

Grand Theft Auto 2 - Circa 1999

GOOD:
- A better version of the original
- Sort of fun and different in it's own way

BAD:
- Really dated graphics, even for its day
- Gameplay is pretty old and controls can be tough for some

WILL IT FIT YOUR TASTE:
- A Top-down run and gun game where you steal cars, kill people, and live a life of crime

GAME ITS MOST ASSOCATED TOO:
- Grand Theft Auto
- Grand Theft Auto: London 1969
- The legend of Zelda: A link to the past (but a lot more urban and violent)

ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- There is a version of this game for Dreamcast, with slightly better graphics
- There is a version for this game for the PC

Although this is quite an old game now, it doesn,t stop me from playing it every day!!!! the graphics are a little cheesey, but the gameplay is great!!!! the missions are good and when your not working for the gangs, you can walk around the city, farting, burping shooting people, running them over, stealing a taxi and when you stop at the pavement, people shout "taxi" and get in your cab!!! And your money keeps piling up as you drive them around the city!!! i cant write more as my brother wants me two get off the computer!!! but in conclusion, and without a moment to spare, get this game if you are a GTA fan!!!! if not buy it anyway fantastic

A great game. it is very challenging but fun to play. the graphics arent quite the best part of this game but its really the game that counts. alot of action, violence, and swearing on gameboy color graphics. i just bought it today and thought it would have better graphics, but i was sitting at my little table playing for hours. ...well this game is a must have for ps. so ...get your wallet ready, get in the car, and go to your nearest store that sells games right now before its out of stock!
