Fun but flawed

I haven't picked up any Need For Speed for a while so I decided to try this one out. The graphics are pretty good for PSP. The customization is okay, but nowhere near as detailed as the console versions. There isn't really much of a story here, you basically read a short little paragraph about the boss racer you're trying to take down and that's about it. The music on this extremely annoying, unless you're into that whole mainstream gangsta music and even though the generic stupid rap songs on here don't compose the entire soundtrack, the rock ones on here are garbage. Can you believe they decided to put songs from Disturbed, Static-X, and Avenged Sevenfold? Lame! One thing you will also notice when you start playing the game is that the cops will pester you to the very end. Using NOS will let you get ahead of them like ten feet but they'll just catch up again in a matter of seconds. The cop cars really bring down the game the most for me. The fun level in this game seriously goes down when a SUV cop car will be three turns behind you and catch up to you in about five seconds despite you going 170+ mph. Unrealistic! Other than that though, this game is fun, only if you can get past the stupid songs and the cops that catch up to you even when you're maxing out your car.

Great game!

This is a great game. It's much better than need for speed 2 (underground). The cops kinda bug but it's ok. Need for speed carbon is much better than this game though.

This game is the devil! I'l lured in to play, but get so frustrated when I lose! It's addicting and may cause you to project your PSP across the room or into the wall.

Beyond the frustration, this game is the most fun game I have ever played.

Worst racing game ever!!!

Need for Speed Most Wanted is my favorite racing game of all time...the console version. It's amazing graphics and very addictive game. Unfortunately, PSP edition is nothing like it. It's easy at first 12 blacklist and it's get very repetitive. It's almost impossible to beat. Ths Cops chase you every single race. It's very hard to play. DO NOT get this game. Get the console version. It's the best game ever!!!

time to grow up

Ugh, I seriously regret buying this crappy game! I'm not sure what annoys me more, the juvenile "i own the streets, i'm a gangsta, i get respect" attitude, or the completely crappy music! Seriously, its time to grow up! Beyond that, all the cars sound the same, and have roughly the same physics from a handling aspect. The cops cars are made of iron and your car is made of paper, they toss you around like a ragdoll, but when you hit them, its like you ran into a wall. The cops speed is matched by none, you could be traveling at 250 mph, and the cop, who's half way across the map, comes up on you in literally seconds, to toss your paper car into a spin, and into last place. The graphics weren't even that good either.

So lets recap. Childish (17/yo) attitude, terrible music, bad physics, cheating cops... hmm, that == a bad game to me.

If you want a fast action game, with kickin tunes, no cops and fast cars thats for a slightly more mature audience, look into Ridge Racer or Wipeout Pure

A great car game

The better graphics of all the serie. Maybe is not the better in history but is the better in anything else. Better graphics that the computer version. The game in the PSP runs excelent without any problem.

Need for Speed Most Wanted 5-1-0.......Not quite as bad as everyone lets on that it is....

Anyone coming into Need for Speed Most Wanted 5-1-0 expecting it to be exactly like the console editions should definitely take heed that this game isn't like the console editions. In fact, in some instances, it's totally different than the console editions but much better. Gone is the chance to free-roam about the city of Rockport yet the career mode offers players more than 140 different racing events for you to compete in(like time trials, police pursuits & whatnot). The selection of cars are somewhat smaller and the AI is somewhat questionable at times. The storyline for the game is, basically, the same as the consoles as you'll assume the role as an unknown trying to rise through the ranks of the Black List. To build your rep, you'll have to take out all the local competition, peak your "heat" meter, but most of all, avoid the cops at all costs. Just like the console games, the cars have a more heavier feel to them. Two things that sets this game apart from its' console counterparts is "Tuner Takedown" & "Be the Cop". The first being a chance to hunt down and make arrests against racers while the other gives you a chance to be a cop & enjoy the thrill of pursuit. The whole game spans 10 circuits and is a more grittier urban take on the Underground series. As impressed as I was with NFSU Rivals, I'm equally impressed(if not more so) with Need for Speed Most Wanted 5-1-0. The game looks a heck of a sight better than Rivals, in my opinion. There's no slowdown & very little loading time to speak of. Overall, it's a solid game that racing fans will enjoy. Believe me, it's not quite as bad as everyone lets on that it is. I enjoyed it and am glad I made the purchase.
