Vigilante 8: Second Offense

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 17 / 17

This game is much better than Twisted Metal. It is also much better than the original Vigilante 8 because of more and new cars, weapons, and realilistic levels. It is also better than Twisted Metal because it has mission objectives and is much more challenging. Usually sequals and copies are much worse than the originals, but this is quite the oppisite way. Vigilante 8: Second Offense is one of the best games for N64!

This game will prove to be incredible! I have played Twisted Metal, and it stinks compared to Vigilante 8 and Vigilante 8: Second Offense. Twisted Metal is hard to play and is very dumb and childish. I think Vigilante 8: Second Offense will be a great game, and if you've ever played the original, you will love it. If you are considering an auto combat game, buy Vigilante 8: Second Offense.

Look out bomberman here Comes v-8 second offense. This game is a welcome edition to anybody's collection. It is the best, and one of the only, car combat games for the n64. The are a ton of characters and many features that give this game a great replay vaue. The new vehicles are awesome and outragious, including a Tow Truck, R.V. Camper, even a Garbage Truck! Some new features are propulsion attachments such as hoverpods and an upgrade system. The best part is its multiplayer modes. This games is definently ten times as fun when played with a friend(s). Unfortunately the schoolbus from the first game will not be returning, but in its place is a prison bus that is basiucally the same. However there is a point when the action can be to much for the system causing slight slowdown, but that doesn't stop v-8 second offense from claiming the title of best car-combat game for the Nintedo 64

The KING of Car Combat has defended it's thrown!

This year's Vigilante 8: Second Offense outdoes itself. Withmore cars and boards (and the ability to load the boards from thefirst game, if you own it -- though this is a *secret*, I've done it.) this game rules -- some characters and boards need to be unlocked of course, but that is standard fair for this type of game. Although only one weapon was added (a flame thrower), new combos for the old ones (on top of the originals) were added to the game (the multiple homing missile attack it especially nice). If those things aren't enough, there are even more secrets and an even greater destructibility to the boards offered. The graphics are only slightly improved and do have their glitches, but they are still great for all that is packed into this game and very rarely will any of the game's few glitches interfere with game play. I do recommend saving your game after each major accomplishment...just in case. You can also customize the color of your vehicle and they undergo physical changes as you acquire power-ups. When you are done you will have 18 totally different vehicles than the ones you started with. And how many games, save the first Vigilante 8, do you know of that will actually let you load your own soundtrack. That's right - insert any audio CD you want and select a track to destroy things to. [You'll have to seek out a *cheats* page to do some of these things, but I'm not covering anything I haven't done myself].

The game's one major downfall is that some of the missions make little sense and do not make their solutions apparent. It took me several rounds of either getting blown up or accidentally blowing up my enemies before I should have, to figure out some of the missions. They are simplistic enough, but not explained well. For anyone who likes to blow $#!# up, this is the game to buy! A great game all around, I highly recommend it. Twisted Metal will never reclaim it's thrown. Welcome the new king to the thrown.

You might think this game is dumb because there are so many games like this such as the Twisted Metal series. However, this games is much better that any other car-combat game. With good and lots of graphics, cars, weapons and levels this game is much better that any Twisted Metal game.

A Good Sequel to the original V8

I rented this game for a few days and I enjoyed it. I own Vigilante 8, and I love it so I thought this game would be cool too. And it was, except it was so much like the first one that it was much too simple and the only thing different was the car and arena selections. When I returned the game I sat down and played the first Vigilante 8 and enjoyed it much more than the second. I guess it's just me because I'm used to the first one so much. I recommend this game for anyone to rent because it is an excellent car-combat game, just like it's prequel. Try them both, you'll have a great time.

If you like explosions, cars, and lots of weapons, this game is for you. I'm a kid, like to play new videogames and boy did I find a good one. I was in our local video store with one of my friends looking for a game to rent. Then I saw Vigilante Second Offense. We rented it not knowing what fun we were about to have.We were totally suprised at what this game was like. Cars exploding, grabbing weapons, just plain trying to ... each other. Ever since then we've rented it and this Saturday I finally got the money to buy it. That is the best game we've ever played.

This game is so phat, that I would play for hours.Only I can't, becuase it would freeze after around half an hour. But that didn't stop me from having much fun. I suggest that you buy it if love blowing things up in a garbage truck or a volkswagon (your choise). Once you get used to the control you will have a lot of fun. And if you were wondering, theres no peds to run over. :)

One of the coolest games!!

This game is awsome! How else can I explain the metal mashing tire chewing action that is packed into this cartridge. There are so many vehicles to choose from and they all have there own unique special weapon. The levels are very fun and large. Pick-up weapons and power-ups are found throughout the levels. The graphics are also very good. This game is a must buy for owners of the N64.

This game rocks!!!

A friend and I rented this game for a week, after which I decided that I had to buy it. It's a hard game to find but well worth it and even better than the first vigilante game. The levels are better and more detailed, there are a lot more cars, and secret moves. You can also boost a cars stats by defeating your opponents. This is the best car/fighting game I have come across, even better than extreme G. Get this game, sit down with some friends, and start blowin' stuff up!
