Do yourself a favor, and buy the EXPANSION PAK

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 52 / 56

I have Starcraft for the PC and the most outstanding thing is the nice, crisp graphics. But when I played it for the N64, the graphics were blurry. Because I recentle purchased an EXPANSION PAK, I compared it with and without it. The graphics were way better with it, and it also allowed a two player mode, and BROOD WAR. So if you plan to buy it, just buy the EXPANSION PAK.

thank God for this game...after all the mad marketing of pokemon and first pirson shooters (with all due respect to classics like goldeneye which came out quite a while ago)i was beginning to think that blood, guts, and pikachu would be all my television screen would ever witness...but to people who appreciate the value of a good chess game, Starcraft 64 must seem like the messiah of strategy games...although it didn't receive nearly enough praise while in its making as it should have, Starcraft rules my list of favorite games...the only problem with this game i might have (although a minor one) is its graphics which dont seem to be much improved by the N64 expansion pak...but who ... cares really?...atari proved that [bad] graphics didnt necessarily mean [bad] games

StarCraft 64 is the best

In StarCraft 64 you can play the original Star Craft from the p.c. but you can play Brood War the expansion. Also like the p.c. you play as one of three races The Tereines "who are much like humans" The Zerg "Your average insect kingdom society" and the Protouse "Your technolgically advanced race".It not only has stunning graphics for the Nintendo 64, it has story line that keeps you guessing whom will come out to be the victor.

Best Game Ever

I would just like to say that StarCraft for the PC might be a better buy if you dont mind spending a few extra bucks on Brood War, but if money is tight then you should definatly go for this game. Since Brood War AND StarCraft original are lumped togeather it spares the extra cost, but graphics and control are a little short (Graphics can be solved by using the Nintendo 64 Expansion Pack).

AN AWESOME GAME, but dont buy it.

Your probably thinking what! by my headline there. It is true dont buy this game. It is an awesome game and possibly one of the best on N64! But do you know why you should not buy this game? Because the computer version of StarCraft and Brood War beat it in every way. First, it costs less on the computer if you buy the battle chest, but on the N64 you have to have the expansion pack. On the computer you can have 8 players, and the N64, you can have 2. And finally, on the computer, you can play online multiplayer. But if you dont have a computer or dont have Windows 95 or somthing like that press the little button at the top of this screen that says "Add to your shopping cart".

Before I bought starcraft 64 I read that it wasn't as good as the computer version, for example it had low resolution, but that didn't stop me from buying it. The resolution is pretty good and it is very easy to see your units. You may think, how can you easily control your units without a keyboard and a mouse. But it is not hard at all. You can easily select groups of units of the same type just as you could in starcraft for the pc. The starcraft version for computer allowed you to select up to 12 units at a time, but starcraft 64 allows you to select up to 18!

Starcraft is an awsome game, it has 3 different races to chose from and a ton of different units, it is the best stragity game ever, It blows Command and Conquer away by far. If you get one game this yeah make it be Starcraft 64, trust me it is good!

Starcraft64 is the best game around.

I bought this game just to [spend] some cash but it hooked me. Starcraft 64 has a sort of essence to it that gets you involved. The story the battles they all start to seem personal after a while. You'll never be more terrified in this game after the first time you see hundreds of Zerg rushing you! I have had this game since 1998 and still I haven'y beaten it! I have played levels for four hours straight and been beaten, the AI is very aggressive and will hit you when you are weakest. The N64 controller works a hundred times better then a keyboard and mouse. The graphics are average and the sound is pretty nice. I love this game and I say too all those PC Starcraft lovers, by a Nintendo game, you'll feel better about your pathetic lives.

A hit PC game becomes a Hit N64 game.

Starcraft came out in 97' for the PC. The game was a success. It had everything to keep you playing for months. And if you did beat the single-player game. There was always their Battlenet online gaming service to look foward too. Then the expansion hit, even more people joined the vast Starcraft family. Now with SC64 and the built-in expansion set "Brood War" I think Nintendo is really smart. The drawback in SC64 is that people can see what your doing in Multiplayer games. And there's no Battlenet. But it is a good buy.

Look everybody. I don't care what you think of strategy games this one will make you have a whole new perspective and respect for these types of games. Starcraft is for the gamer who won't give up when it's hard (and trust me, it can get pretty hard) and will have fun playing it all over again. You get to pick three different races. Terran-Humans Zerg-Buglike creatures Protoss-Aliens All have pros and cons with their race and against other races. It will bring hours of play time and all levels are easily passible no matter what you think. You just have to know how to use your men and spend your "money" wisely. This game makes you think and develops a craving for more strategy games. A good game to spend your money on.
