I'm very sorry but the game it's not worth the money. The graphics are 'SMASH'. In fact, the only good thing about it is the voices are from the t.v show. Please don't spend $ on it.

Its Scooby Doo

Scooby doo at last makes an apperance on the N64 and i have to say that graphicly its good but i feel that the gameplay is lacking something. There are three mysteries that Shaggy with the help of Scooby has to solve. There are not many buttons to use in this game and you have to find everything on one level before you can progress to the next which some game players might find a little frustrating. The graphics are cartoony which is a nice change and instead of players having a health bar it is replaced with a courage meter which once is depleted they are totaly scared. Buy this game with caution if you are unsure, i liked it because i am a fan of Scooby but try and play it on a friends computer before you make the commitment

Easiest game, hardest controls

2 Rating: 2, Useful: 11 / 11

The only thing that makes this game the slightest bit challenging is the controls. They change on you once you let go of them becuase the camera shifts positions every 5-10 seconds. It's not really a mystery. You find objects lying around in the open flashing, you pick them up and just give them to Fred who is always 2 rooms away! The bad guy also happens to be extremely obvious becuase you arent introdeuced to anyody except for one person. This game defies comics. You can become 2D or hide under leaves when the monster is right next to you, and then he'll go away. You lose courage easily but with scooy snacks always 10-15 footsteps away (Not to mention and easily accesible kitchen to give you full health) you can't lose. I know this game says "inteded for younger audiences" and I'm 13, but my 7 year old brother tottally agrees with me! Beleive me, scooby-doo fans will be dissapointed with this game. Controls are terrible, game is way to easy, not to mention scooby-doo always follows you around like Pikachu in Pokemon Yellow, execpy Scooby gets in your way! Once my brother had to reset the game because scooby had cornered him and made it impossible for him to move! Save your money, buy something else.

Before writing this review, I read some of the others. Most people either said that the game was excellent or very poor. I find that the game ranks somewhere in the middle. If the people who designed the game are reading this......WHAT WERE YOU THINKING??? This is the most difficult 64 game to control that has been released. I know what you're thinking. "I can probably get used to it, I bet this guy didn't even play it that much...." Wrong! Every move you make is determined by the camera angle. Most of the time, when you want to move one way, you end up moving another. And buy the way, I couldn't figure out whose side Scooby Doo is on. He is in your way ALL THE TIME. There is no way around him. When being chased buy a villain, he practically pushes you into them. And finally, there are only three levels. I have two words for the developers of the game.....EXPANSION PAK

Utterly dissappointing.....

I am a diehard Scooby fan and have been waiting for this game with much anticipation. I thank my lucky stars I rented before buying. I cannot stress enough how bad this game is. PLEASE at least rent before buying. The game is so programmed....do this, do that, do this, do that. There is little opportunity to explore your own ideas with the game. The character movement throughout the game is horrible. The jotstick needs to be let go of after entering each room to reset itsself! Who wants to take the time to do this when running from the Knight?!?!? I was depressed after trying to play this game for an hour, it was such a let-down.

Not Recommended!

I bought this game because my daughter is a BIG Scooby fan but sadly she and i were disappointed. For one, she's 5 and she can't read subtitles! Not to mention that even i, who is pretty good at playing these games, couldn't figure it out! Maybe if they would have developed it with sound it would help to figure out what your supposed to do and where. They need to take this one back to the drawing board.

THIS GAME STINX!!! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

My mom bought this game for my 6 year old brother, thinking that it would be good since it was recommended for his age group. I had read reviews on many sites, since I am very into video games. All of the reviews warned that the game was meant to seem perfect for little kids, and have simple, easy gameplay. THEY WERE RIGHT, MY MOM WAS WRONG. The annoying camera angles change every 10 seconds, and controlling shaggy in these bad angles is impossible for even me, a seasoned game player since age 5. My brother was very, very dissapointed. Please, heed my warning and don't waste your money on such a poor example of the N64. Buy another game, for your sake.

Awesome, a sure fire winner, except.......

This game has action, adventure, humerous storylines, an award winning cast, and a well known license going for it. It has all the parts to make a wildly sucessful game. It does just that, HOWEVER, the controls ARE hard to get used to. If you just release the control stick when you enter each room, you will have no trouble at all. The controls are very easy to learn, and it makes the overall expirience really fun. Aside from the controls, Scooby sometimes gets in the way. Not to the extent that you will want to yell enough obscenaties that would make Larry Flint blush, anyway. Overall this game is a winner, and it is arguably one of the best 10 N64 games this year.

Oh, I wish I hadn't wasted my money!

It's terrible. I bought this for my daughter for Christmas because her older brother was getting new games, but NONE of us have been able to conquer the camera angle problems and that problem of Scooby getting in the way. Take my advice (and the advice of others here), rent it first. We have tried over and over, but just give up in frustration after about 15 minutes of play. Oh, man! I could have bought MYSELF something with that money!

glad I rented it first

I rented this game for my 4 year old who is a very good gamer! The main problem that I saw was the fact that there is so much reading involved. For younger children, that would be a problem. As I sat there reading every paragraph for my son, I realized that it is a very boring game! Make sure you rent it first!
