Rocket is a great puzzle game. I've played it all the way through and I had fun all the way. Unlike many other games, the puzzles all had very satisfying solutions. Almost every time I got stuck, I could sit back, give it some thought and have an "aha" moment where the solution became clear.
I also liked the fact that there are not too many puzzles that just rely on gamepad dexterity. Since it's easy to make things arbitrarily hard, I really appreciated the careful game design.
Finally, some of the levels are just beautiful. I spent at least a couple of hours flying around just for fun.
If you liked Mario and Banjo Kazooie, get Rocket. You won't be sorry.

Here at Sucker Punch Productions, we had a fantastic time creating this game!
In the tradition of Banjo-Kazooie and Mario 64, Rocket's adventure takes him through a series of fantastic locations and challenges. We didn't skimp on the worlds either -- they're huge and beautiful.
On top of that we've created 7 exciting vehicles, like the hot-dog-dune-buggy "DuneDog" and the paint-ball-firing-hovercraft "HoverSplat". Rocket gets to ride them all in his quest to defeat JoJo the Raccoon.
The game engine features our proprietary "fun-physics" engine which simply means Rocket, the vehicles, and all the objects in the world seem incredibly life like! It's something you have to see to believe.
But don't just take our word for it. In addition to the reviews here, Rocket has been receiving raves in print and online. Check out the November issue of Nintendo Power, where Rocket: Robot on Wheels was the top rated game!

I picked up Rocket thinking that it was just one of very few available games that are non-violent for my children. After logging about 8 hours of my own time "making sure is was appropriate material for kids" I discovered that it is a sophisticated and completely engaging game. The graphics are amazing and the physics program makes the game world very realistic. The game requires some real problem solving efforts and rewards you by opening up additional worlds as you collect items and add Rocket abilities. It is certainly the best game I have seen available through Nintendo and I look forward to my next 20-30 hours before I give up the controls to my kids.

Rocket: Robot on Wheels is the best platform game on the N64, right next to Rayman 2. Forget the insanely huge clones that Rare has started ing out and prepare for an utterly original game that will make you laugh. The puzzles are satisfying and don't rely on dexterity, and there's no at all. The vehicles are funny (have you ever ridden through rings on a giant robotic porpoise? You will in this game), as are the mini-games (build a roller coaster and ride it! Or maybe just challenge a en to a game of Tic-Tac-Toe!). Whatever you do, you'll have fun with the creativity and freedom of this game. Unfortunately, it isn't perfect. I can't pin the fault down right now, but there's something that kept me from giving it 5 stars. Oh, well. A must play for platform fans who are tired of seeing Mario 64 with fuzzy animals! 4 stars. Here's a tip: You can't beat the en in Tic-Tac-Toe without some frustration. Instead, throw the egg AT THE EN. You'll wreck is train of thought and he'll goof up.
Not a Kiddie Game!

The first thing you may think when you look at the box of Rocket, Robot on Wheels and see that goofy looking unicycle creature may be "This game definitely does not have any blood, gore, or violence in it. Where's the fun in that?" Well I'm here to tell you that Rocket is the best game out on N64 since Zelda! No joke! First, the physics engine is incredible. Boxes, icebergs, and magic carpets behave almost exactly like they would in real life! And the levels are incredible. On just the first one you're building your own roller coaster, entering a fun house, and climbing up a mechanical dinosaur. The only things I found wrong with this game is that the camera is very fussy, which gets in the way at times, and that while the first couple levels draw you in with the spectacular challenges of building a roller coaster and painting a Greek town, the others start to die down a bit and aren't as fun, but they still are more fun than that Donkey Kong game. I've played all the levels, and I can tell you that this game has just the right amount of challenge and the perfect amount of fun to suit all gamers. If you're even thinking about buying this game, don't hesitate!
One Amazing Game!

Wow, what a ride!
Rocket is the best game for N64 to come along in a long time, if not ever. The puzzles are excellent, and the robot moves in ways you've never seen before. This is a very, very fun game.
How would you like to build your own rollercoaster, and then ride it? You get to do that in Rocket. I would have paid the full price just to do that! And that's just one part of one level.
I'm not through all the levels yet, but I anticipate many hours of fun with this game. It's a definite "must buy" -- I can't recommend it highly enough!

Rocket on wheels is a wonderful game! It's not too hard to figure out and do, yet challenging. There is a surprise around every corner with flying carpets to flying insects. I love games that I can get through without too much frustration. It's wonderfully animated and artistically done. Hey, I'm 53 yrs old and love it, so it is not just for kids!

Rocket is nothing short of genius. The excellent graphics, clever level designs, and overall polish are only compliments to the brilliant puzzles and concepts behind the game. The sophisticated engine adds a sense realism to the game--rocks roll, floating platforms bob, and hot-dog cars drive realistically. Rocket has some of the most original ideas to ever grace a video game, and is one of the top five games for the N64 (or any system, for that matter). A must buy.

Definitely among the best games for the N64. The physics engine is amazing, but the game has much more. It's a lot like Banjo or Mario, but everything has a subtle twist that makes it really feel like a different experience.
All the different ways the tractor beam is used are very cool. You can pick things up, throw them, stack them up, smash them open, and even swing from handles. There's a lot of stuff to do here.
I really loved Mario, and I liked Banjo alot. I think this may rank just below Mario. If you like adventure/platform games you *must* buy this game.
