Rocket: Robot on wheels is the most original game to come down the pike since Toe Jam and Earl. This game takes platform games to a new level. Most games deal with a plain character battling enimies with a sword or fists. Rocket battles foes with a beam that is equipped on its body. You also get to drive numerouse vehicles through large worlds that are full of puzzles. Rocket isnt really a fighting game nor is it just a puzzle game. It's both! Most of the emphasis goes towards solving puzzles that are extremely fun and original. Any fan of platform games should add this to their collection
Rocket: Weird theme park, but admission's worth it.

Rocket has two flaws that need to be said right away -- it's not as visually stunning as Mario 64 was, and the music and sound effects are put to shame by Banjo and Kazooie. If you can get past this (which I certainly hope you can), Rocket is a stupendously fun game. Without giving the puzzles away, which is the best part of the game, Rocket has your standard trick of collecting hard to get items (stars, puzzle pieces, golden bananas, whatever) guarded by a puzzle, and less guarded Tinker points (coin/music note/colored banana analogues). The joy is that the puzzles are all totally unique from one another; you're always forced to figure out something new to do to get them, as opposed to the standard, "Fight all the bad guys and get a prize," or "Butt-stomp the hidden switch," or "Push a few obvious levers" fare you might be trained to do. Rockets puzzles run the gamut from sheer action (dodging an avalanche of boulders that randomly shove each other around while toting a fragile bomb to the top) to abstract puzzles where you get little hints at best, and just get to play until you figure it out (no hints, but you'll know what I mean). If your first response to a puzzle is to get the cheat guide, save your money and don't buy Rocket; you totally miss the point of the game. Rocket is pretty fun to handle -- he's got a single wheel, so he turns very sharply, coasts to a stop, and tends to roll when he's on a slope -- very realistic. He's also a nimble jumper. His only real weakness is a poor ability to muster any attacks -- it's not a fighting game, however, and bad guys are few. All the bad guys are robotic bees and mosquitoes, begging the question, "Why would a theme park have hurty bee robots in it? Is it Hurty Bee World?" The worlds are varied, and unlike so many other games, there is no Falling Off Of Cliffs and Dying Alot Land. Phew. Enjoy!

My 4 year old grandson and I have been playing this continually since we received it. It always keeps his interest, and mine too. We love the "hints".

When I rented this game I wasn't sure what it would be like, but once I started playing I just couldn't stop! Its not like most of those fighting games where all you do is shoot things, you have to find little admission tickets. I really like the vehicles you ride. Especially the hovercraft that shoots paint!

This is one of those games that deserves more credit than it got. Like most platform games, it consists of item collecting via several puzzles and platform jumping. While puzzles in these kind of games get very tedious, the puzzles presented in Rocket use common sense, and there's nothing more appreciated than that! Unfortunately, the platform jumping is still rather frustrating at times. But all in all, I whole-heartily recommend Rocket to anyone who enjoys the platform genre (which includes if you thought Banjo-Kazooie and Rayman 2 were great games). Rocket demonstrates very smooth graphics, mediocre music, highly original gameplay, and an amazing physics engine. My only regret about this title is that it ended way too soon. Regardless, I enjoyed every minute of it. You would, too.

This is definetly one of the best games I've ever played. It is not one of those games where you just go around shooting pwople and hopung you don't die. If you are looking for a game with plenty of levels and puzzles that require lots of thinking but they make the game twice as fun, buy this game. If I could I would have given this game 8 stars but I can't (duh).
Nearly Perfect in every way

This is one of the best platformers for the N64. Ubi Soft created a game with realtime physics applied to all objects in the game. The puzzles are excellent, and I had fun with the game for hours on end. The game was extremely challenging, certainly not laid out on a silver platter. I just wish there was more. I hope to see Rocket return on the Gamecube.

I picked up a copy of this yesterday and played it with my friends all night. It's awesome! The Hot Dog Car is the best -- it's like playing Super Mario and Mario Kart at the same time. I can't wait to see all the levels.

I rented this game with an eye to giving it to my god-daughter for Christmas. She and her siblings love it. But so do I! Appropriate for children young and old, "Rocket" is a sheer joy to play. The problems are tricky but not TOO tricky, so gameplay is satisfying. The realistic physics of the game are a hoot, as are the cool vehicles he finds throughout the game. A clever hint feature helps you find the tickets you're seeking, but it's just as fun to roam and explore the varied worlds. Here's hoping Rocket returns in a new adventure...

A fun,one wheeled, jumping game. Some of the jumps are hard But with patience you can do it. There are cars, boats{fish}and etc.We truely enjoyed all the hunting for tickets and sprockets.
