if you like arcade games with an RPG twist, you'll love this game. the time required to beat the game is a lot, but not too much; some 20-30 hours. it can be more or less depending on the player, probably more. anyway, this game has non-stop action. most of the time you are bashing some poor goblin's brains in. however, to my surprise and delight, i discovered there are some puzzles and switches to unlock, making the game challanging and more RPG like instead of just a mind-numbing arcade game. when you reach certain points in the game, you get weapon/attack bonuses, adding to the interest. the best part of it all is that it's not addicting but fun at the same time. if you liked this review, i have another review written for the on-line rpg game EVERQUEST. check it out. i would buy this game cause the graphics are great and it's fun.

Let's just get to the facts: First off, Gauntlet Legends for Nintendo 64, as a whole, is already an enjoyable game. For people who are not interested in trying to figure out combo moves or complex puzzles, this is the game to buy. I guess that's why GL is so addictive for many people. Even though some people have never played the original game, it will prove to be an interesting arcade game. Secondly, unlike Playstion's game(only two ports available), you can actually have four players active at the same time. Finally, N64's version is by far more challeging as far as gameplay(PS's version is a lot more easier to win, although again, this may be due to the limited ports on it's console).
Although it is true that Playstation's version has better sound quality, the difference is not extreme(you'll get over it, fast). And of course, there is the dreadful load-time on the PS version as well. And as far as graphics, there is a tie between PS's version and N64.
The only flaws are that you will need to buy the Expansion Pak(adding 4 Megabytes of RAM) IN ORDER TO PLAY 4 PLAYERS(only three players can play without Exp Pak). You won't need it for anything else besides that. For you cheaters out there, you will need the Game Shark device in order to cheat.
Other than that, this is the game to buy!!!

I first rented this game with my brother, and although I thought it would be another one of Nintendo's attempts to re-create a classic, I found it to be interesting none the less. Most people say that the sound and music are repetitive and mediocre, but I myself found them to be quite interesting, repetitive as it may be. The new addition of being able to level up, and gain more life, and things like that add even more fun to an other wise fun game. Well, I hope this review helps people thinking about buying this game to decide to buy it.
This is the Best 80's game of the 90's

I was about 8 or 9 when i started playing gaunt and the arcade. It was lame because it was random , but this is a new version and much better. This game has very little 3D graphics and can make you sick at some times because of the spinning but it is the Best game for N64. It is all about being a wizard, warrior, valkery (sheman warrior) or archer. You can 3 player and you go around killin baddies. The newer version has an actuall point to kill the end boss (DUH!) this game is the best because of the upgrades because with other games you are the same 1 or 2 people over and over with this u get to have at least 4 charceters ( not counting extra people) and also u upgrade at lvl 10, 25, 50, 75, 99 and 100. This game is so fun because it is just hard enough to keep you playing but just easy enought to make it so you will keep trying. i give this game and A+ ( this is a very good game for a christmas or hanukah present)

I recently played Gauntlet Legends and I thought it was magnificent. Being a child, most would say that every game is a smashing hit. I believe this to be a good game because of the grand storyline, the amazing graphics, and the origanal thought of the characters. After playing this game, I knew that everything in it was as I expected it to be. This could quite possibly a favorite game for children, like myself, if they have a few extra hours on thier hands and if they are permitted, by thier parents, to play any game with life-like physical violence.
I give this game a five star rating because I am one of those people who enjoy a game of high quality graphics and storyline. This game is a must have for any fighting fanatic or for anyone who just LOVES fighting adventures.

You must buy Gauntlet Legends! As a young kid I often played Gauntlet in the arcade for hours with my friends. No matter how much money I spent, there was never an end (or a clear goal). Gauntlet Legends has fixed this problem, combining the old Gauntlet style (a wizard, warrior, archer, and valkyrie marching around killing everyone) with 3D style play and an almost role-playing game feel. There are a few things to keep in mind when buying this game: you must buy a controller pack if you want to save your progress in the game! (Unless you want to play for 20 hours straight) Also, make sure you have at least one friend to play with. I found the game a little easier playing with one. But even if you don't have any Gauntlet Legends enthusiests to play with, you must buy this game.
This game is great

I picked this game up just to remember the old gauntlet days. I couldn't put it down, I couldn't stop, I couldn't not find every secret, I couldn't quit, I had to get every chest and barrel and blow up everything and do it gleefully with as little health as I could. Why? Because I had to, and you will to.
